I did ours myself. Years ago I bought calligraphy sets and learned how to do it fairly well and I only had like 40 to send out so it wasn't bad. Even if you don't really know how to do calligraphy, just writing with calligraphy (fine-tip) markers or pens dresses up your own handwriting b/c of the way the tip is slanted (like Jt mentioned). I'd recommend practicing a little, but it's really not hard.

When I went to Coach Outlet a while back they were out of them (in July), but I found the same purse on ebay for $40, which is still really good. I love this purse!! those are some hot shoes! You're inspiring me to go BD shoe shopping! I'm totally with you about feeling a little ridiculous at the thought of the BD shoot cuz it's completely out of character for me too. But, I'm doing it anyway b/c, like everyone has said, it's an empowering experience & I'll be so glad that I did it. Plus I'm sure FI won't mind receiving that little book.

We bought our pocket-fold jackets from them to go along w/ an invite we found elsewhere and they're perfect! Just got 'em all mailed out last week so I totally hear you about being excited to receive your rsvps!! More than anything else, sending out the invites & getting our 1st 'yes' made this whole process more real.

I found the sand dollars in like Feb (50 for $10) and I knew I wanted to use them for our invitations, but didn't know what I wanted as a design - other than having some blue & green in it. We kept searching 'til we found these & I really like how they came out. I did have to cut down the matting a little so they'd fit in the jacket but that was easy after our save-the-dates. Julie, yeah it's a metallic blue called tiffany. It's subtle & really pretty in person. We must've gotten them on sale cuz they were $0.78 each over the summer & now they're almost double that. We sent them out last week & we've already received our first yes! We ordered the palm leaf invitations & response cards from happiepaper (which is part of passionpaper.com). I like the invites but I'm not sure if I'd recommend the company. We had some issues with customer service &, although everything turned out OK, the experience sort of left a bad taste. Anyway, we ordered the blue-green jackets from cardsandpockets.com (which is a great website & they have terrific prices & customer service!). We also bought white cardstock from cardsandpockets for the travel inserts. I ordered the little silver sand dollars from Ebay. They were charms so I cut off the little loop at the top and threaded them with raffia that I already owned. Then I just used double-sided tape to secure the invite to the jacket & assembled everything. Here they are: inside response card

We booked a little while ago, like 8.5 months out. Our TA said she was already seeing the cheap seats go cuz it's over Memorial Day weekend so we figured we'd better get it done.
