It seems like everything's done at the resort. Should I start working on OOT bags.... I kind of now wish there was more to plan with a DW. Well you do have a lot of time, but if you really want to keep planning here are some ideas (there's a lot): -Do you have an idea of where you want the wedding? Will it be on the beach or in a gazebo, etc? Have you seen pictures of the set-ups? -Will you be adding decorations or just using what they provide? -You could work on a play list for your dinner/reception (are you having a DJ?) Are you & FI having a 1st dance? -What about the menu? You could have your resort send you options. -Do you have a photographer? -Have you picked out types of flowers/bouquets you'd like? (maybe make an inspiration board to bring to show your WC at the resort) -Are you planning on having favors at the wedding or place cards? -What about a cake topper? -Are you giving gifts to your bridesmaids/groomsmen? What about for your/his parents? -Your shoes, jewelry & hairstyle (if you're having your hair done maybe find pics of how you'd like it done so you can bring those with you). -Do you guys want to plan an excursion or welcome party for everyone? -Have you looked into buying wedding bands? I know that's something we felt really relieved about after buying them. -Have you booked your airfare? -You could def start on the OOT bags so you don't have to buy everything at once. Have you found bags that you like? If not search around so that when you have a final count you can just go ahead & get them. I only have a rough estimate of the # of people coming but started to buy things like mini sunscreens, advil & emergen-c packets, chapstick & some water guns. ok, I think that's enough!

I've been focusing on a lot of little details instead of big items... probably totally backwards but I can't handle the big stuff Once you find the rest of the wording you like, I think you could just write "at 5pm on the sky deck", or whatever time, on your invitation (if that's what it's called at the resort or wherever, so everyone will be able to find it). I think that'd be totally fine! Or you could just leave it off and once people are there let them know specifically where it'll be. I've seen invitations that say "on the beach" or "in the gazebo" but I've also seen them just list the hotel or facility name & country. Good luck deciding! And yeah, sometimes it's a lot easier to focus on the little things - some of the big ones can just be overwhelming! PVbride- sounds like you've got everything under control! Way to be organized!

It's so great that you've gotten him talked into it! Have you shown him pics of others' TTD sessions (maybe from the girls here?)? Honestly they're some of the best pics I've seen. Even if they're not super steamy (which lots are & that would be fun!) they capture so much intimacy between couples. You can just relax & be yourselves and get so many unique shots. And you don't have to roll around in the sand if you don't want to. I've seen lots of cool pics of people walking around in quaint towns with cool architectural elements. There's a bazillion ways to do a TTD shoot! And if your MIL doesn't know where you'll be she can't follow! Or you could just tell her that it's just the two of you & you're not comfortable with people watching.

Selling Maggie Sottero Wedding Dress - "Juliette"
KarenM replied to moepeedy's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
You looked gorgeous! So elegant! I'm sure you'll have no problem selling that beautiful dress! Can't wait to see more of your pics! -
I'm in the same can't-get-people-to-book boat (well, can't even get people to rsvp! I have like 6 back out of 40). Only FI's parents have actually booked. No one from the wedding party, no one on my side, & none of our friends have booked and that's sorta stressing me out, though I'm trying not to think about it until Dec. We have a TA & some people seem reluctant to use her b/c they think they can get a better deal so I spent a bunch of time searching on travel sites to compare the cost of booking air/hotel together with booking air & hotel w/ the TA separately & emailed the breakdown to friends & my family (coming from the same city). It's actually like $100 cheaper to do it separately b/c the room rate she got us is really good, but still no one books. whatever. I guess there's still a lot of time, but we have a lot of serious procrastinators in our bunch and our deadline to book w/ the TA is Jan 5. We also have the people who don't want to stay at the hotel b/c they want to find a cheaper deal that's not all-inclusive. We'll have to worry about that & the day passes later. I like the idea of having everyone stay at the hotel the night of the wedding, but I'm sure some of my friends won't go for it. So glad to have this site to vent on cuz no one else wants to hear it! thanks girls

Autumn, I think that's awesome! What a great way to celebrate your mom's birthday! Jill, you should totally go for the bonfire! I really want to, but I'm still not sure. Don't know if P wants one. Do you girls know how it works if the Mexican Fiesta night with the buffet is happening on the beach & you want a bonfire? Do they put you somewhere else on the beach or is it just later than the beach buffet?

I am not going to do a table number, I'm going to have 5 designs for the 5 tables and you find the table with your tile design in the middle. I will need little holders for that. I might do ribbon with a name card through it b/c I want the pretty side of the tile showing at the place card table! Hi Amy, great! I know, I love the tiles idea, they're so pretty! And I like your idea of doing a pattern per table. We bought like 6 or 8 sample tiles from 2 companies (the 4-1/4" size) to see which we liked better and will probably end up using all of them, but I really liked the ones from Tiles & Tiles better. Plus they had really good customer service. The samples came with the style # written on the back but I want mine plain so we've emailed back & forth & they were really responsive (& they'll come plain). Plus they included a couple extra tiles for free which were beautiful! Really nice people! I haven't ordered the rest of the tiles or the #'d tiles b/c we don't have most of our responses in yet. And I haven't tried to write on the backs yet. I need to buy some terracotta colored paint to cover up the marker on the backs & give it a try. I'm still not sure what we'll use - I was thinking of a calligraphy marker (has slanted edges on the tip to make writing look nicer but it's thicker than a pen). We want to find some kind of small easels to hold the tiles on the tables up - maybe something like one of these Plate Easels - Solid Brass Verdi Gris Gold Plate Display Easel Size: 2-1/4"w x 5"d x 4"h - Stands and Easels - Decorative Plates and Bowls - Factory Direct Craft Supply this site has a ton Metal table top easels in gold, silver, copper, brass, iron and pewter.
