I am getting married at the Las Dunas - the Melia Cayo Santa Maria sounds nice too - but it wasn't an option for us as we have at least one child coming with us. I think the MLD has more options for wedding locations, but to be honest I'm not really sure about the wedding options for MCSM, maybe you could talk to a TA with experience planning weddings at both? Erica, that's too funny - my BMs are all wearing the second dress in the same color (clover right??), I think they are going to look great on them - have your girls tried them on yet? Only one of my has ordered hers, I hope it fits her well !

I can totally sympathize with the crappy weather, although Winnipeg (aka Winterpeg) is notorious for terrible winters - it usually waits till November or so to start snowing...I am so glad we're going somewhere hot in May!!

I can totally understand why you would be upset, it is a A LITTLE weird that he has hung onto this little piece of their past relationship for whatever reason. I know for my fiance and I when we moved from our old apartments to live with each other it was great because we got rid of all those little momentos from past relationships and once we did it was sort of like a weight lifted I think. It's not the end of the world though, I mean it's probably harmless but I would probably be a little upset too - just try to get him when he's in a talking mood and try not to get too upset, just talk it out rationally and ask him to explain the situation and that you're just feeling left out.

About the FB thing, my FI and I both have our exes on FB but we don't hide anything from each other - he knows my password and I know his, it's not a big deal. I am still sort of friends with my ex, although I have purposely avoided him when I've seen him in public incidentally lol.

Most likely you have nothing to worry about, but you just need to talk to your guy again and explain you're just upset b/c you don't understand the situation and you just want to talk about. Maybe you both need to agree on getting rid of all the old little things that make you think about your exes so you can start fresh? Just an idea - hope you feel better about this, and that you two can talk about it again.

I can definitely understand your hesistance, but every year a new flu vaccine must be constructed quite quickly based on the new mutations that the viruses undergo each year, there is not much reason to believe that this vaccine will be any different in terms of side effects. And I would also argue that the risks associated with the vaccine are much less severe and WAY more unlikely than a serious and potentially life threatening H1N1 infection.

From the CDC:

The proportion of deaths attributed to pneumonia and influenza (P&I) based on the 122 Cities Report has increased and now exceeds what is normally expected at this time of year. In addition, 19 flu-related pediatric deaths were reported this week; 16 of these deaths were confirmed 2009 H1N1 and 3 were unsubtyped influenza A and likely to be 2009 H1N1. A total of 76 laboratory confirmed 2009 H1N1 pediatric deaths have been reported to CDC since April.

This is what is concerning about this particular virus, and why I would vaccinate your child if you have the chance. But that is my opinion so I will leave it in your hands obviously .

Happy Thanksgiving ladies...no turkey for me this year (all of our family is back in NS and I am too lazy to cook a turkey for 2 of us...) BUT I did have some pumpkin pie - so yummy, glad I left the rest of it at our friends' house! I haven't read the studies myself - but I can assure you that this vaccine wouldn't be available if it wasn't just as safe as the regular flu vaccine, it will essentially be the same, just against a slightly different part of the virus. In Canada they are not recommending even bothering with the regular flu shot, just H1N1 because they think it's sort of going to overtake the regular seasonal flus. I will be getting it - and giving it (our school is vaccinating all the medical and dental students - they wouldn't do that if they didn't think this was a good idea). I think you should get your son vaccinated, the chances of an adverse rxn are much less than the effects the actual virus might have..and chances are pretty good that most of us are going to be exposed. Good luck deciding...

Here is one study - only adverse effect: local tenderness and a mild headache (you could give him some children's tylenol the day he's getting the shot to minimize this)

Hey, I am not 100% sure - but I don't think our resort would do legal weddings on Sunday, perhaps you could do a symbolic ceremony though and do the legal stuff at home. Also, most of the trips are a week long and will be arriving on Sat or Sunday...you're supposed to be there for 3 days before you get married (legally, I have heard of some brides doing it in less time but it could be really hard to arrange). I think that's a pretty sweet wedding date...but are you 100% that it must be that day? If so, you might be able to make it work, some of the tour providers leave on Mondays...might be able to swing it! Good luck , have you decided on a location in Cuba yet?

I think #3 is the most flattering, I would like it even more with a sweet heart cut - you are going to look beautiful no matter which one you choose. I didn't get that "OMG" this is the dress feeling - but I think it has a lot to do with your personality. The dress I ended up getting was the most flattering and most suited my style (and it's the one i kept thinking about and comparing other dresses to). Good luck deciding

Whoah Christie - your dress and veil are beautiful, I hadn't seen the new one and wow is it gorgeous, with that veil it looks almost ethereal - lovely! I am definitely going to get a veil, I think they really finish off the look - I just felt like a real bride once I put it on. Not sure where I am going to get one from, but the prices in the bridal stores are pretty unreal for a simple piece of tulle!

That's awesome!! I had a somewhat similar situation myself - I lost my passport - still have no idea where, and only realized when I went to pack for my Mexican vacation! It was xmas time and I didn't have time to get one, BUT - I didn't need one!! I went anyway, I am pretty sure you don't NEED one for Dominican either (just saying) - I did bring my driver's licence and birth certificate. They can make you a passport in as little as 24 hours though so I'm sure your dad can get one! Chin up, it will work out - just thought I would let you know that if worse came to worse he could probably go without a passport . Let us know how it works out!

I am so pumped my FI agreed to stay 2 weeks, he thought we would be antsy after one week - but with all the partying and craziness I think it will be awesome to have a week alone to, um, you know - just enjoy some alone time and fun in the sun!!

I agree, I like the first one the best - I think it's because I like the shape of it better, it's just a little more elegant but I think they are both really pretty!
