For sale: Glass message in a bottle
crazykat replied to crazykat's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
Hi nmurch, If you go to the Sand Blast website and click on the message bottles , and under the glass message bottle, it is the 6 1/2" Tall Glass Bottle. I also got the raffia through them too, I forgot to put that in, it too is also unopened. I will be heading to Edmonton around Christmas the 24th-27th so if you are interested and can wait a few weeks maybe we could meet up, then it will save you shipping. I live in Grande Prairie. Let me know. -
For Sale: 60 glass message in a bottle-bottles with corks 60 mailing boxes for bottles (already assembled) 1 - 100 sheets of parchment paper (whitish colour) 1- 99 sheets of parchment paper (greyish colour) opened, only one sheet missing 144 mini umbrellas Go to Sand Blast Entertainment to see photos of these supplies. I purchased the bottles, mailing boxes, shells, and umbrellas at Sand Blast Entertainment, I already have the sand and shells in 40 of the bottles. I have also assembled all of the boxes. I have about 1/4 of a bag of shells that can go into the rest of the bottles, but I ran out of the white sand (I purchased the sand at Michaels). I had these invitations almost finished but I decided to change my mind and do a pamplet invitation. I still have the receipt from Sand Blast.....supplies from Sand Blast cost approx $80 US plus approx $60 US shipping to Canada. The package of the whiteish colour of parchment paper cost $12.50 Canadian which I still have the receipt from, and the other package of the opened parchment (-1 sheet) I bought for approx $20 Canadian, from Staples (I lost this receipt). I would prefer to send to someone in Canada only because the sand is already in the bottles and I am thinking that is may cause issues at the border? PM me if you are interested I have a paypal account and would like to go through Paypal if possible. Would sell everything for $100 Canadian for all supplies not including shipping.

I tried to to the glass etching myself with the bought stensils from Michaels. After all said and done I kind of wish I got a professional to do the etching, it just took 3/4 of my day and didn't turn out exactly how I wanted it too. The etching was really light and hard to see, and I follow the directions and even left the glass etching cream on longer then it said. Also you only get one chance at it so if you screw up I think you are pretty much out of luck. Sorry to freak you out, just thought I would let you know my experience with the etching.

Hi Ladies, I am writing because I need some advice on a sensitive topic. On October 10th, my neice passed away (she was my way older sisters daughter, so she was my age 27 years old). She was one of my bridesmaids. This has been one of the hardest weeks I have ever gone through. I miss her terribly. So I thought I would ask you ladies who will also be getting married, some thoughts on the topic. I know in the end it will be my desicion, but I just wanted to hear some other opinions. My dilemma is and I hate to even think about it but do I replace her in the wedding party? Here are my thoughts, if I don't replace her then there will be a empty space in the wedding party, would it be too depressing for guests to have an empty space and make it a focus duing the ceremony. Or do I replace her with a friend that I have that was around from the begininning of me and fiance's relationship. Then do something for memorial for her like a candle and an extra bouquet placed on the wedding table. I am also planning on attaching a photo of her on my bouquet, so she will be with me walking down the aisle. Any thoughts will be appreciated, thanks for listening. .

I went through a travel agent, and we had to put down a deposit of approx $2000. This held and blocked off rooms at the resort it also held our prices for not going up or down for approx 3-4 weeks. We had to tell our travel agent how many rooms we wanted to block off. We sent out our boarding pass save-the-date with a letter from the travel agent that had a blurb about the resort, the approximate dates we we going, the prices of the different rooms people could chose from. By the time people recieved their save-the dates and letter they had approx two weeks to put down a $200 deposit to hold their rooms. There was a date on the letter that people had to put down their deposits by or the risked the prices they were quoted in the letter to go up/or not get placed with the group when travelling. We ended up getting 41 people booked. Once every one put their depisits down we got out $2000 back. Not sure if this helps anyone, but I though I would just mentioned how I did it.

Jersykitten: What we ended up doing was giving our travel agent a deposit (or a pre-authorized amount on the credit card) of approx $2000 to hold our rooms for 3 weeks. So she contacted the resort and they blocked off a certain number of rooms for me for about 3-4 weeks. So this gave me enough time to finished my save-the-dates and get them sent out, in my save the dates I had a letter from my travel agent that had a blurb of info about the resort, the approximate week that we will be leaving and the prices for different types of rooms that are available at the resort. By the time people recieved the save-the-dates they had about 2 weeks to get their deposit of $200 to hold their rooms. Yes, I did actually have a date that they had to book by and said in the letter that if they do not book by this date, they will not be guarenteed the prices/or placement with the group. People did not book until the last couple days before the deadline. We did get our deposit of the $2000 back and we just ended up putting it ouwards the price of our trip. Well I hope this helps and if you have anymore questions I would be happy to help you out.

Hmmmm....I don't think we had much of a secret to getting all of them to book, we were extremely surprised when we found out how many people actually booked. I think our families just love to travel, and we were telling people at least 6 months before we sent out our save-the-dates that we were planning a destination wedding and to start saving. In our save-the-date letter we had a certain date that people had to book by, nobody booked until the last couple days before the deadline. Don't give up hope people are will book, everyone just likes to wait until last minute, I have a few people that held off on booking to get a better deal either somewhere else or book closer to the date.

I was checking out Avon.ca and they have aloe vera gel 150 ml for $1.89, regular $3.99. They also have Sun Lip Balm (SPF 15)for $0.79 regular $1.99. Also if you put THANKYOUCA in the coupon code area, I think you can get free shipping. Anyone can shop online with avon, you don't have to know/or be an avon rep. Happy OOT bag hunting!!!!

Bath and Body Works Deal 5 for $5
crazykat replied to crazykat's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
*** Sorry.... correction to the first post, the shipping deal DOES NOT include canada, but they do ship to Canada. The $65 shipping deal ends tonight apparently. I guess just read the fine print on the offer, something I apparently forgot to do. -
I was checking out the Bath and Body works website and they have 5 deep cleansing hand gel 1oz. bottles for 5 (US)dollars. And they have like 6 or so different fragrances. And shipping is free for orders over $65. Something for OOT bags. They ship to canada also and the shipping deal applies to Canada too. Not a bad deal. Bath & Body Works - Sale: 5 for $5 PocketBac™

She is telling me that anything less just cheapens the fact that these people spent all this time and money to make it to our wedding at a location they probably would have never chosen to go to if it hadn't been for the wedding. Is this normal? Should I be planning on spending a day in Playa del Carmen shopping for Talavera pottery, bottles of tequila, and Cuban cigars? How much am I supposed to be spending on these things? I had planned on including everything that has been discussed and more in our bags, and price is getting out of hand. Am I supposed to be buying everyone presents as well? I think it would all depend on how many people are attending the wedding. If there are only a few people attending a personalized gift might not be a bad idea, but if you need to make like 20 or more bags I wouldn't do the personalized gift. I think having a welcome bag with some goodies and a thank-you/welcome letter is gift enough. Lots of people that havent been to a destination wedding haven't even heard of OOT bags and it is a big surprise no matter what is in it. The spending on each bag all depends on what you choose and the deals you find and how many you are planning on making, I find it is easy to get carried away with all the options you have to put in them, the the prices can add up quick. I also think that you shouldn't worry about what your mom said about the fact that people spend all this time and money to go to a place they wouldn't be going to if is was not for your wedding, if they really don't want to attend they don't have to.
