  1. Thanks for the heads up guys. I have bought my dress, shoes, rehearsal dinner outfit, and haven't even looked for his clothes. And we all know that I will have to find what he wears! I will take him (ok,ok, drag him) to Old Navy tomorrow. Great coupon too!
  2. I am a new member. I am usually on this site for tips, info, etc. But this stuff is hilarious and a great way to take my mind off some of the tasks at hand. Thanks for the giggles.
  3. Barrow---Thanks for the info! I can order the mini pass ports and save some $. I like the boading passes idea. Just haven't decided where I can incorporate it. Thanks for the help. My FH loved the passports. (I was shocked he is usually ambivalent about anything I show him!) Thanks again ladies!
  4. Wow! I had thought about the idea of fireworks. Now I can get that idea of out my head...... Way too expensive!
  5. Congratulations! Nowcomes all the fun. I have received the best tips and ideas from this forum. Have fun planning!
  6. Hi Nay! I can totally relate to being confused. I just chose my resort a couple of weeks ago. It was really hard. I knew I wanted to get married in Jamaica, just not exactly where. I decided on Negril because I thought I would get the best beach pics there since I want to get married in the sand on the beach. I chose Sunset at the Palms because I called all of my choices and spoke with the wedding coordinators. I chose the resort that had a coordinator that I thought I could work with. I received help from onestop. I got their infor from trip advisor. They have Onestop Negril, OR, MoBay and Port Antonio. The TA there was so helpful and I haven't even booked with her yet. I booked my wedding first so I could be sure to get my date. She gave me the names and numbers of the wedding coordinators and the resorts that I was interested in and suggested that I call them. Great advice! The Sunset properties seem to do a pretty good job. I recommend calling each one that you are interested in and speaking with the coordinators. I also read the reviews of the resorts on trip advisor. I have been in contact with several brides from this site and trip advisor who got married at my resort. They can answer lots of questions and have plenty of insight. I hope this helps. I am new to this site but have received my best info from these ladies. Good luck! Tammy
  7. Fridays or Saturdays are best for me. I would love to meet everyone!
  8. Hi. Thanks for all of the well wishes. Barrow - The passport invitations are great. I am going to order them this week. I want to include all of the information so I will need the full size ones. I emailed her for a quote. I will only need about 30 of them at the most so it shouldn't be too bad. She is so creative. I am sad I didn't know about her before I would have ordered the boarding passes for STD's. I am going to go to Michaels tomorrow to look for some goodies for my OOT bags. I am heading to my local dollar store to look for some chapstick and scented candles. Wish me luck ladies!! Tammy
  9. Hi August Brides, It made me feel so much better to know that everyone is still trying to get it all together. Ok, this is what I have done so far: I have booked my wedding date at the resort. (Sunset at the Palms on August 22nd) I decided to have a private reception at the resort. I am still looking for a place to have a BBQ and bonfire on the beach on friday night before the wedding. I have a TA and I am working with her on the arrangements. The prices are pretty good right now, but I suspect it will get cheaper as the economy gets worse. I have bought my STD's and am just waiting for a completed address list from you know who. He keeps saying, "Don't worry we have time." I keep saying, "No, we don't." It has become a joke at this point. I haven't found any invitations that I like. I just sent away for some catalogues but I think I need to go to a party store and see some in person. I bought my dress and shoes, both of which I love! I found my dress on line at A Price less Bridals. (Wedding gowns, wedding dresses, prom dresses, prom gowns, bridal gowns, bridal dresses) I was afraid to purchase a dress sight unseen, when I discovered that their warehouse was about 5 miles from my house. They have beautiful designer dresses at amazing prices. I tried on my dress at the warehouse and bought it that day because they usually only have 1 of every dress. If anyone is interested in any of their dresses I will be happy to go see it in person take a pic for you. My bridesmaids are wearing neutral champagne colored dresses that 2 of us wore for another friend's wedding. No overlapping guests so no one but us will know!! I will change the rhinestone brooch on the front to a pink rhinestone one to add a splash of color. I want the guys to wear khaki pants and white shirts. I chose my bouquet, centerpieces and arch from Floral Fantasy in Negril. Still waiting on a cost for the centerpieces. I have no idea what to put in my OOT bags. The only things I have planned so far are bottled water and a cd with our music on it. (Boring) Any creative ideas for me? Now that I have written it all down I can see just how much more work I have to do!!!

  16. Hi everyone. I want to have a wedding in Jamaica with approx 25 guests. We still havent chosen a location. I was looking at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton in Lucea, Jamaica. However, after reading the forum about it......? Our proposed dates are August 21st or 22nd. I want to be in either Montego Bay or Negril. I have been to Jamaica quite a few times and usually stay in OR. So I would prefer to try something new. Any info is appreciated. Thanks.
