-What time was your ceremony at? The ceremony was at 6pm -Where did you have your reception? Was the food good? We had our reception at the steakhouse, and the food was honestly not the best. We had eaten there a few nights earlier, and it was great, so, I think it was just an off night. -What did you all do after dinner? We ended up hanging out in the main area of the resort where they have the shows at night. There are a couple of bars out there, and lots of tables. We were going to go to the disco when it opened, but it was really stuffy and hot, like it had no ventilation, so we just stayed outside. FYI-The other bride who had her wedding the same day did the same thing. -What upgrades/extras did you do on top of the Royal package? I just brought a few things, fans for the chairs, a parasol for my MOH, and OOT bags for the guests. I kinda left everything else up to the resort. One other piece of advice, is to go with the white cake with white icing. It was FABULOUS!! We got so many comments from all of our guests about it being the best wedding cake they'd ever had, and I agree!

Thank you! I ended up not bringing any tulle or anything for decor. I used the silver shair bows since they were kinda neutral, and the resort has several different colors of tulle for the arch. They also provided the fresh flowers to decorate it. Those flowers end up being on the head table to decorate it for the reception.

Thank you! We had the Royal package, which comes with 12 pictures. When I had my meeting with Erika she talked me into upgrading to 24 pics for just $35 more. I thought "no problem", so we did that. I met with the photographer right after I met with Erika and I asked about possibly getting more pictures (as I'd heard of another bride on here doing the same thing). She said that they would end up taking around 250 pictures and we could work something out when we looked at the pictures after the wedding. The wedding came and went, they took pics Wednesday during the wedding and of me and hubby after the wedding on the beach. We met on Friday to look at the pictures and for me to pick the 24 that I had paid for through the hotel. She offered them all to us for $300 (USD cash), my husband asked if she would take $200 and she said sure. She even waited while he went to the ATM. It was that easy. Just be sure to have cash, and don't be too eager, because they will take less than they originally say.

Hey ladies! We're back!! The wedding was gorgeous!! Everything went really well, and the photographer for the resort did an amazing job! I'm not sure their name or if they have a website, but I'll attach a link for my pics on facebook so you can see (since i can't figure out how to post pics). All in all everyhting went really well. The only problems we had were mostly with check in. Please make sure you and all of your guests bring their room confirmation, out of 14 rooms that we had booked ony 5 were right, and two weren't even in their system. Another piece of advice is to not upgrade your picture package with the resort, talk to the photographer and arrange something with them., We got almost 200 pictures printed in a leather album with all pictures on a disc for $200 just by talking to the photographer and not going through the resort. Here are the links to my facebook albums (I have lots more than this, these are just the ones that I decided to post.): Emily Szatmary's Photos - Riu Wedding Photographer #2 | Facebook Emily Szatmary's Photos - Riu Photgrapher Pictures | Facebook *Also, a note about swine flu. None of our guest got sick, and we had no problem getting through customs or anything. The only problems we had were that two of our guests were asked to stay home from work for an extra week (with pay) just to be sure they didn't get sick.

Thank you, ladies!

Another DD bride here, and I also fell in love with a dress that was a low v neckline. I don't generally show alot of cleavage, but in the end I decided that I am going to be spending a week in front of all of my guests in a bikini, my dress covers alot more than that, and it makes me feel beautiful (the important part). I agree with the PP's if you'll be self concious or uncomfortable, add a bit of lace, or chose another dress. Afterall, you don't want your "girls" to be your primary focus on your day.

I posted a thread about OOT bags in the DIY forum, I realized my mistake and posted another in the registry, gifts and OOT forum, but could you remove my first in the DIY forum please?

Here is a question for all former Riu Santa Fe brides: I read up on the Cabo document requirements for if you want to get married, this is what I found if anyone else is interested: Cabos 1. Birth Certificate* 2. Passport (for the couple) 3. Divorce Decree (People divorced with less than a year cannot get legally married)* 4. Death Certificate of previous partner (if applicable) 5. Tourist Card (provided in the Airport at your arrival to Mexico) 6. Blood test (They will be done at the resort, once you are in the hotel) 7. Passport or ID of your witnesses (Required 4 & they must be at least 18 years old) 8. Written parental consents for couples under 18 years (if applicable) 9. Legal Information Form (the on-site wedding coordinator will send it to you) *Apostilled and translated into Spanish So, my question is, did riu santa fe require that the birth certificates be translated and apostilled? Where did you go for these services and about how much did it cost? I'm not sure about any of the paper work stuff. My fiance and I are signing the paperwork in the US and just doing the religious/symbolic ceremony in Mexico, that way we don't have to worry about bringing all of the right documents, the blood tests, etc. It is what our attorney advised us to do to make things easier.

When are you getting married? I think you may be out of luck on the photographer. Riu seems to be being very strict about their "no outside vendor" rule. We are having a friend who is coming with us take pictures. Also, we signed up with the "royal" package, and it includes some pictures. I'm not sure if your package does, but the resort has a photographer that they use. You should write Erika and ask her for the photograofers web site and rates, and also ask her to send you pictures of a beach wedding. I know someone posted a youtube link on here for a wedding. I'll try to find the link. Good luck planning.
