So i just got an email from Ada at OB, with some answers: they do up to 3 small weddings per day and only 2 big ones. I am not sure what she ment by small/big wedding. She also said that as of 2011 they do allow outside photographer if you pay vendor pass fee. BUT in 2012 they probably WILL NOT allow outside photographer at all. Did anyone hear that?so to me it should be either yes or no, so ppl can book or not book outsiede photographer...what do you guys think?

I just talked to apple vacation and here is what they say:march 18-25, $220per room/dowble occupancy. As far as airline schedule, they said date,has not been released yet. Ladies, do you think i will be able to get better price then $220 per room?which is $110 per person/ per night?I think Ocean Blue usually around $90 per/p/n??

Ladies, could someone tell me what email adress you used to contact wedding coordinator at Riu?the link that i have found and emailed to was something like rioweddings.com... they got back to me with packages, but it is an agency that does all the weddings in Rio resorts(DR, Mexico, Jamaica). I dont really want to deal with a middle men. oh and BTW 2yrs ago we stayed at Rio Bambu, and there was a lot of brides from Palace. There is also a restaurant outside at Rio Bambu i believe its called carribian steakhouse, right on the water.Where i remember seeing wedding dinners taking place. It was awesome!

JB, i just heard back from the resort WC. Ada is the one who has been emailing me. I know u mentioned Yvette?as WC, i wonder if they work together as a team...have u heard anything about Ada from the boards?

JB, when u got a group rate for hotel, did u work with the TA or u went directly to the resort? i normally book with Applevacations, or my local TA who books it with apple. I called my TA, and asked about weddings....and hotels... she didn't seem to be very interested, because she knows it will be a hasstle with a group of ppl i think....But anyhow, i always do the legwork myself for any of my trips... Cant wait for the prices for april to come out...even thought im nervous to see the hight numbers$$$. MsClarke, i belive the alcohol is included. What resort did you plan on originally?

Congrats Elizabeth! and happy planning. If i were you, i would email different resorts and see there group rates, cause 80ppl sounds a lot. And also since you do have a lot of ppl coming aand im sure everyone has a different budget, i would look in to a big resort, with sister resort on site A lot of the times they have a resort 5stars,and 4stars on the same property. When you have a big party like that some ppl would like to have a choice where and how much money they can spent for the rooms.
