  1. My fiance and I are looking into a membership. I wanted to get some opinions from actual members. Is it worth the cost?
  2. Yeah, I'm asking both my parents to walk me down the aisle as well... I posted this thread a while back, and honestly I think I want to forgo a bridal party. I will have my sister and friends as my "ladies of honor" they will be there help on my wedding day, etc... Like stated, I don't want any more drama than necessary!
  3. I'm getting married in Florida too! Our ceremony is at 10 am, then after pictures we will go out for lunch. What about planning some type of group activity that you and your guests could do together. Or maybe even if your hotel hosts cocktail hour by the pool meet up with your guests there. (we may do this). Also I think it would be perfectly fine also if you decided to not do anything after the brunch as well. That way guests can have some time to enjoy their vacation. Just an idea!
  4. I was doing the EXACT same thing... try to add this, squeeze this in... I learned like a lot of ladies have said. Not everything is mandatory. Its your day, only include what you want.
  5. We have having a Luau by the pool, with pizza and drinks... Still trying to come up with a proper name. I think our hotel (not AI) hosts a cocktail hour so we will probably just stick around for that. I think a welcome dinner the night before is a great idea.
  6. I'm currently debating between beyonce's "Dangerously in Love" or keyshia cole's "heaven". I LOVE them both!
  7. I believe we are doing ours after the exchange of rings... It's totally up to you and future hubby though!
  8. I agree! Its so easy to get caught up in all the DIY projects. I've had to really learn to only do things that are a priority to us... It's hard but it is doable.
  9. Thanks everyone! I think we are going to look for some resturants to have lunch at. Of course I'm sure we will change are minds closer to the date. Still kind debating whether to have lunch or dinner. We'll figure it out. Glad I'm not alone or crazy for not having a reception after the ceremony...
  10. Would it be weird if we only had an AHR and no FORMAL reception? My fiance and I don't really want two receptions... We plan to have a morning ceremony, my question is how would we go about this? would it seem weird? How should we fill the void... Maybe invite guests to dinner later? HELP!!!!
  11. Thanks! I think we will try to send some kind of newsletter/brochure with details about the trip a month prior to the wedding. We also have a website in addition to that. We are asking for RSVPs 2 months in advance so we will see...
  12. I know... I can be stubborn at times. We will both be 24 when we get married. And we will wait until I'm at my at first nursing job for a year before trying. Like mentioned, We already have lived with each other for a while, but we still don't want to rush in the end. thanks everyone for your thoughts. Our time will come! Patience is a virtue.
  13. I totally agree about having some alone time and to get established before having kids, but I can't help but be jealous of everyone having honeymoon babies!! Oh well, we will SEE!
  14. My fiance and I plan to relocate to Charlotte area in Summer 2011. Anyone live/familiar with the area? How is it?
  15. Quick question, Did you send out a detailed letter of your wedding/itenerary after guests RSVP or should our website be sufficient? Please advise.
  16. I give my fiance a hard time about having children, but I know deep down he's right in regards to finishing school and getting established in a new state first. (I will never let him know this, though!)
  17. Our budget is estimated at right under $7000 excluiding wedding rings! Of course we're not getting married outside the U.S. I'd say with 12k you could have an AWESOME wedding. Good Luck to you!
  18. Just trying to see how soon everyone had kids after their weddings... As for me and my fiance, It'll be atleast a year and a half before we can start trying since I'll be in my last year of nursing. After school we are planning to relocate from KY to Charlotte, NC (ANYONE FROM CHARLOTTE?!?) I've had such a strong urge to have children for awhile now... It's driving me crazy! I'm about to be 23 in June, and realize I have plenty of time.. I just don't know what it is. And YES I have a puppy! Still not helping!! LOL Anyone deciding to wait atleast a year or more like us?
  19. I'm not doing them either! Don't have the budget for them, I would have if I had extra money. I don't think it's bad at all to not have them.
  20. Thanks everyone! Ultimately, at the end of the day... It's about me and my fiance. I think we are going to go with an 11am ceremony with a 1pm cake/punch reception.
