  1. Jac- you did a rockstar job putting everything together. Your dress is FAB, you know I love it!! Have a wonderful time!

  3. Great info, i'm sure we're all wondering these things at one point or another. thanks for sharing!
  4. Desiree- Congrats on your legal day and enjoy your bachelorette weekend! Can't wait to see your pictures Samira- I think the honeymoon registry is a great idea. There's a lot of information/discussion about it on the forum. I think it's perfectly appropriate and would be totally fun!
  5. Congrats!! What an honor and a beautiful photo!
  6. Those are some good ideas! I don't think the dollar dance is fun for anyone, except the bride and groom, and it's even ackward for them too. How about showing a slideshow of the photos or the video from your destination wedding. If you don't have them yet you could still show a slideshow of baby/childhood photos, always a hit!
  7. Great pics, Josie! CONGRATS!! Is the marriage certificate that you got from the judge a legal one that you can still use as proof or do you have to wait for the one in the mail? I'm wondering how far in advance you should do the legal day before you go to Mexico, or rather how close is the closest you should cut it, if you want to make sure it's legal before you go?
  8. Welcome! The Riu's in Riviera Maya seem fabulous but a heads up- i don't think they perform weddings on Sundays. Definitely check out the Riviera Maya forums!
  9. I know Riu offers the trio as live music for hire. I'd like to hear from someone who used them! I remember reading a review a while back... i'm pretty sure the bride loved them.
  10. It IS frustrating and you are rightfully feeling insulted, but please don't let it keep you down. Money is tight for everyone so people need to decide how they are willing to spend their funds. Maybe they just don't have the desire to see Europe, but they're really excited about hawaii. Your wedding is YOUR big day, not theirs. Don't think of them as a bad friend for it. Hugs!
  11. Hey Erin, I'm so glad you had a great time, the pics look fantastic! Your favorite (the last one) is also my favorite. Hottie biscotti!!
  12. wow, what a great bm! They're perfect! I like your chicken/fish icons, hehe
  13. It's not poofy. It's beautiful! If you're concerned it's too "big" you may consider having the train shortened, that wouldn't be a major haul-over and would make it a bit lighter.
  14. My understanding of a reception at a Riu restaurant is that it's still a restaurant, everyone gets a full menu and orders whatever they like. I like it this way
  15. Congrats to both ladies, and thank you for generously sharing so much with us!!
  16. Thanks for sharing! Which Badge Holder did you select? I didn't find the 0.36 ones. Do they have a flap/closure to keep things safely inside?
  17. I know the name of this thread is AllTourNative, but does anyone know of any other companies where you can do similar excursions, but are less expensive (but still have good reviews)? Thanks for the tip about calling for promos, that might work out really well!
  18. For those who haven't booked yet and this is a concern, consider selecting a resort where you pay for the wedding package and not per head, such as at the Riu Resorts. The thought of selecting which friends I liked best broke my heart so I kept this in mind when selecting my resort.
  19. Wanted to share with everyone that VistaPrint is having a special: 500 business cards for free, through July 15. I think these would be perfect to distribute with your photoshare information on them. I don't think any one of us needs 500, but it'd be nice to not have to worry about running out or keeping track of who you gave them to. Another option for the business cards is for the luggage tags.
  20. Wow lots of exciting things going on! Congrats to DES on MOTM/bridal pics/marriage license, JOSIE on the Photo Contest, HappyBride on booking a date, etc! Oddly enough I have heard of the teqila donkey, maybe even here on BDW?? It's pretty rediculously funny and there's no way you could go wrong with it! Try searching bdw for information. I remember seeing pictures and laughing out loud... Paige- I'm keeping my eyes open for a resort to switch to for the honeymoon. I like the idea of a fresh location, but I don't want to leave the party too soon. Our wedding is on a Friday, I think we'll switch on Sunday or Monday. So far I really like Iberostar Grand in Riviera Maya but it may be more expensive than we can swing. Maybe I'll look into Secrets Maroma Beach because I hear it's beautiful! I also would like to know where people have gone/plan to go...
  21. Bumping this thread, since it's AWESOME Who's done/doing a cenote TTD... let's see pics!!
  22. Everything looks wonderful. I hope your day (YESTERDAY!) was as beautiful as you are! Congrats
  23. Has anyone read this book? I thought it was interesting, also a bit controversial, in terms of how/when to do things in a marriage (like being married at least 1 year before ttc). Your thoughts?
  24. We're hoping to buy a house and possibly move cities right after we get married- that's enough major changes, plus i want to enjoy being a newlywed for as long as i can! Once that wears off the babyhood will be something new and exciting, rather than get all rolled into the same ball. Our situation is a lil different though, b/c we'll be finishing grad school and starting our careers shortly after the wedding... need some time to get established before taking on dependents A wedding night/honeymoon baby does sound very romantic (and memorable story) however!

I appreciate your thoughts/comments I might understand not being invited to the dw but I would still feel slighted receiving the ahr invite but not the dw. I'm planning on doing just the opposite: inviting all my loved ones to the dw (our package is a set price and not pay-per-head) but narrowing down the AHR to primarily closest friends/fam those who couldn't attend the dw.
