  1. Heather, everything looks so nice! Question- I see the RSVP on your invitations was for guests to go to your website... would you say that worked out pretty well? How did you deal with guests who didn't respond?
  2. They're both a great idea. For ease of travel I'm pretty sure I'll be swayed by the stadium cups
  3. Shan13- Don't worry about the webcam, I think it's kinda creepy anyway, but the DVD is a great idea! As far as photos- stick to what's important to you. Don't give something up just bc it's untraditional. So you're sleeping separate the night before... are you going to be alone the entire wedding day up till 5:30? If it were me I'd either move the wedding to early afternoon, OR spend the night together but spend the whole next day solo (at the spaaaa!) until the wedding. SuzyQ- Yeahh you made it to 150! Congrats! I bet today is a great day for ya As far as the ring... what if you get 2 bands: the band you WANT and wear it solo (not with your e-ring), or wear the matching set. I'm not opposed to getting a unique band and wearing it by itself! This is considering you like the e-ring. If it's truly "not you" then start from scratch 8 years and a baby, you earned it! Erin- Sunday 11/8 noon over cheesecake and martinis IS ON!! You better bring photos from your dress fitting
  4. Erin- Nov 8 works for me... unless you need some female support to come with you to your dress fitting on the 7th, I'm happy to do that too! If all else fails, we can hit up the Cheesecake Factory in Kenwood, they have an amazing raspberry martini! Is that super far away from where you are? I think your flowers are going to be beautiful!!

  6. Lisa- I do NOT think you are being stuck up. I would ask someone else if they'd like to help you put together a shower. Maybe your mom or another local friend? If you offer to help it won't seem so burdensome... offer to supply food if she'll supply the location. You're right that this is your one shot for a bridal shower and I think you're more than entitled to it Sorry that you're going through that stress with your friend's mom. Maybe your mom and FMIL would be willing to step up and do it together??
  7. Thank you so much KittenHeart (Amy) for posting the photos I do think it looks frumpy from the front, but that's nothing a good tailor can't fix
  8. Erin- Let's plan on an early weekend in November. Do you have any favorite hotspots around downtown/clifton/hyde park/mason? We could grab a drink/nibble then hit up JoAnn Fabrics or Michaels if there are any crafty things you need to get! I might start buying supplies for my message-in-a-bottle invitations I want to make, my first DIY project!
  9. I know exactly how you feel Melissa- I've been bad keeping up on this thread but I ordered and received a dress from Duosheng (it was "Binefar" by San Patrick). It's well made, the quality and materials are nice, but it just doesn't fit the way I had in mind. I was initially a bit let down but I'm going to take it to a seamstress and have alterations done. That's only fair, as you'd do the same thing with a local dress so I shouldn't skip this part! I don't have a photobucket account but I'd be happy to email my pics to someone if they will upload them here. I know, I really need to learn how to upload photos Jacylinda- your dress/photos/everything looks AWESOME! I haven't spoken to you in a while but I've been thinking bout ya! Island Princess- that deep sweetheart neckline rocks! Nice choice!!

Funny you said that bc just tonight I was thinking of recruiting the Cinci locals to go out together for a drink We can definitely be the foundation of the clan! I've met TahoeJeni and she's a lot of fun. I can't remember what part of town you're in. I'm ALWAYS down for a cosmo... when are you free? :-D
  11. I second the comments about no baskets being included. At my wedding I don't think I'll have any flower girls so I'll request them to disperse the petals before the guests arrive. If you are having flower girls I'd bring baskets.... or buy them at the WalMart in Playa del Carmen Shellk- sorry about all that drama. Don't be shy to be forward with her. Don't let her think she can stomp on you and get away with it!! Lay down the law early! When you receive it, thank her for the post and tell her you'd appreciate if she'd take the time to respond to your phone calls and emails in a more timely fashion.

  13. They look great! Did you get any photos of them with the wax? I'm not sure how it's supposed to look. Do you remember how much was shipping from Sand Blast to your house? They don't tell you the price until after you pay and I want to make sure it isn't outrageous...
  14. I know this is an OLD thread but I'm bringing it back to life. So many people commented on the crafty wording on the invite and rsvp but I cannot see them since the photos have been deactivated. If you're still out there, Yvette, can you please tell us what you wrote? I'd love to see photos if you're able to repost them! Many thanks :-)

  16. Someone is selling mini silver starfish in the ForSale threads, I just saw it earlier today! I hear Oriental Trading company is a good place to get the plain raffia fans, then decorate them with ribbon on your own.
  17. She's hurt you by not being supportive. Be the bigger person and don't hurt her back by leaving her out. Anyone else you could do that to, but as your sister (regardless of your relationship) I would ask her to be a part of it by being a bridesmaid. Don't even bring up the words "maid of honor" but you may have long-term regrets if you don't give her the opportunity of being a bridesmaid in your wedding. With that honor, she may soften and come around in time for your big day. Best wishes <3
  18. Hi! Where did you make/buy the mugs from? Super cute I may be interested in the maracas, maraca favor tags, and the postcards. I like the photo on the postcards; if you made them on vistaprint where did you find the photo?? Thanks!
  19. Meghan- I'll take your dad as my date twin, hehe! I met another person with an April 9 birthday yesterday too. I picked Friday as my wedding day so maybe that's why I'm skinny on the date twins. Anyone else getting married on a Friday? I did it bc I was afraid a Saturday wedding would mean drunk/hungover guests missing their flights on Sunday and I didn't want to deal with that on my honeymoon
  20. Keeping it rolling... (caribbeanlover) Tracy from Montreal (echo2_62) Meghan from Calgary (kimmyg) Kimmy from Cincinnati ... April 9 ... RPRM
  21. From Sand Blast Entertainment "One thing to remember about Sand Blast Entertainment. We price match! After over 16 years in the business we are well aware that there are others out there that dangle a low price in order to try to get your business. If you do find a lower price on an exact same item, be sure and tell us when you order, we'll match it. At Sand Blast we don't try tricks either, like not including a top for a bottle in the price. We pride ourselves in service here, and we actually have the staff and training to back that up. Just give us a call and you can tell right away. Speak with one of our friendly sales staff. Cindy, Amy, Beverly, or Jason are ready to help you with any question you have. As a matter of fact, be sure and mention this article and we will throw in a free gift with your order. Every order is treated with special care by us. Thanks!" Sounds good to me!
  22. ColoredSand.com (the link you both posted above!) IS the site with great bulk discounts... $0.65 each if you get 144 plastic bottles! I'm not inviting that many people but it may be worth buying them and selling the leftovers here on BDW since it's such a great price. Or 2 brides can team up and split an order. Anyone in with me?! The website also sells the rafia ribbon, sand and shells. Awesome :-D
  23. Jo&Delo I'd love to see your photos! Yours sound so creative and beautiful. Lily- I never thought about doing this as a favor, that's a neat idea. Thanks for sharing links for purchasing supplies. I feel like this is a totally managable project (with bridesmaids help!) as long as you can find the items for reasonable prices. I saw plastic bottles for $0.79 (or $0.74 if you get 100) and that's the lowest I've found. I hope I can find that website again because I don't remember where it was! Gah!
  24. I love our dogs, sooo cute! Tonya- I happen to think Milky would have been the perfect partner in crime for Oreo, hehe Shan- Any luck with the fake ring? Worst case scenario: go to a decent Jeweler and buy a good immitation for a couple hundred, then return it after you're finished with it?! Engagement photos are very important!! Tracy- i think the email was a good idea. I hope people respect the deadline this time. Michele- we have 10 people booked (us included) ALL on FI's side... my parents aren't in any hurry to play catch up either My ticker is down to 5 MONTHS (4 weeks...), WOW!!! I don't think I've found a date twin yet... is anyone out there?!
