So back to the huppas. Do the WC's at each hotel get them, or are they rented from somewhere in town? We'd like one for our ceremony.

Did you mean you have to use their florist? We likely would anyway, since we aren't going to bring anything in on ice from the States lol I suppose we'll use their food people, we should have some booze on hand I guess. Did you have to use them for the cake too?
What sort of fees have you been running into? -

I am also getting married at the Finisterra in June 2009, finally started planning last week!! If you have any questions feel free to ask. I have a lot of information on the Hotel and pictures, they also have an onsite coordinator. SSTOTZ will be getting married there the week after me, and she has been so helpful in my research!!
Good Luck! -
Hi Jen
Brilliant review! Few questions though:
Was your wedding ala carte? I ask because we're trying to put something together in Cabo, but just the two of us, and we don't need music/food/alot of other common wedding things. The Finisterra website makes it seem ala carte, which would be a good thing, since the package deals encompass stuff we simply don't need.
The ATV trip: do you think it was just that company, or the Cabo ATV tour industry in general?

Hi
Has anyone here done the deed at Finisterra? I searched for threads and found a bad link to jengonda's review.
Based on the site, it seems like they don't do packages, so much as it's ala carte... which we prefer since we don't need music and tons of other stuff, it's just us doing a symbolic thing on the beach. All we need is someone to perform the ceremony, a bouquet and a huppa; we'll bring the rest.

Hi
I need some suggestions.
I will never have need of a light coloured suit again after my wedding in Cabo, so I prefer not to buy, but to rent here for the entirety of the trip would cost as much as purchase.
Can anyone recommend a rental place in Cabo?

The only decent vows I found on Google, while searching for "Wedding Vows As Gaelige".
Chun grá a thabhairt dá chéile go dilis,
Má fearr sinn, má measa,
Má saibhir, má bocht,
Má tinn nó má slán
Go scara an bás sinn.
A (Ainm), caith an fáinne seo mar chomhartha ár ngrá agus ár ndÃlseacht.
In (ainm) an Athar agus an Mhic agus an Spioraid Naoimh.
That last part is religious, but suitable for all Christian denominations.

thanks everyone... i'm catching a second wind and starting to post a bit. :-)

So if you bring a cd... how does that work? Does the hotel (Dreams) just whip out a boombox?

These are sort of old school Irish traditions, many from the pagan days. If that suits you, more power to ya! Personally, I think (though you and your fiance would have to be okay with it) vows in Irish would be way cooler than carrying around a 5-pound horseshoe. Maybe not even the entire vow, but just a section of it. My $0.02.

Hi
Juan Carlos Tapia is clearly a great wedding photographer... but he doesn't come cheap, even by American standards. His associate can be hired for 1/3 of his price, but her site (MagdaOssorio) doesn't have anything on it.
Is anyone here familiar with her work?

FYI, if requesting one by phone, "chuppa" is pronounced "huppa" ;-)

That sucks... but honestly, who would leave so much property/cash around? Better yet, who would bring that much to Mexico at all?
Crime is always the fault of the criminal, but that's no excuse for not using common sense.
If you must bring such things with you abroad, keep it on your person, at all times.

I used to live in San Diego, been to Tijuana a bunch of times. The ring is fine, just don't hang out in TJ at night with loads of jewelry, but passing through in the daytime, even going into shops, is cool. Tijuana has a monstrous reputation, but much of the reputation evolved from people being ignorant of their status as guests in Mexico, and getting themselves jailed for whatever reason. I've been to many cities in the world, and TJ is NOT one of the more dangerous ones.

I think this site is the authoritative guide on sunrise/sunset for anywhere on the planet. You just need to plug in the coordinates in decimal form.
University of Oregon Sun Chart
Cabo=22.883333N 109.9W (type that in as {negative} -109.9)
It will also tell you the location of the sunset on the horizon, since that moves throughout the year as well.

Hi
We're working on getting a destination wedding set up... just ourselves, no point in buying dinner for the masses! Mainly I'm here just to read, will post later but I had a long day at work. :-)
1. Chris
2. September-ish
3. Cabo, some sort of all-inclusive thing.
