It didn't cost much- although I forgot to really keep track of the prices. This is my best estimate: White Card Stock: you can get a pack of 100 sheets for under $10 Card Stock for Ticket Jackets: I got a few variety packs on clearance for $7 each. Brads: I got on clearance for $3 Envelopes: I got regular envelopes from Target Labels: under $10 The most expensive part is probably the ink. I was able to print them at my fiance's work so that didn't cost us anything. I would say we saved a lot of money doing it ourselves, but it was time intensive and I spent many hours cutting out Save The Dates and Invites. I was late with the STD's and my mom wound up sitting down for about 8 hours and cutting them all out. I spread out making the invites and did it over time so it didn't feel so bad. I think it was worth it in the end (for the savings) but at the time it did not feel worth it. Also getting compliments on them mean so much more when you make them yourself. Hope this helps.

Just a quick note to anyone who wants to use the templates for the passport invite- I printed the 2nd and 3rd pages on the front and back side of the same sheet of paper (same with the 4th and fifth). They didn't quite match up exactly so you might need to modify the size/shapes of the boxes to match. Or you can do what I did and just cut them to match one side and it worked out perfectly. It took a little creative cutting, but you couldn't tell at all.

Hi, I mostly borrowed the templates from others on this site and modified to meet my needs (So- thank you so much to the others that have shared). I am attaching the templates that I used and some pictures. Here is the Boarding Pass Save the Date Boarding Pass Save the Date and Envelope Passport Invitation Package RSVP Card Invitation I couldn't attach the address labels because of their size, but I just used Avery labels and chose a seashell background from Microsoft Word and used mail merge to put in the addresses. I didn't put pictures of the inside of the invitation because I wasn't able to blur out the personal information but if you want to see it you can look at the template. The Save the Dates also had two other pages with information about the hotel and booking and Passports. I didn't have a good pictures of those pages but you can see them in the template also. I used AC Cardstock from Michaels for the outside of the passport invitations and the envelope for the save the dates. I used regular scissors to cut them all out (I would suggest a more sophisticated cutter if you don't want it to take forever). I used generic white card stock for all other parts. Hope this can help someone. RSVP.doc Passport Invites- Good.ppt Save the Date- beach scene.doc

Who's the designer??
ktchi replied to Danyelle's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I've seen the third dress on a on one of those wedding shows where the bride and groom's families get to plan their wedding for them in like a week. It looked like they went to a local bridal shop for it but I don't remember anything else about it. Did anyone else see this episode or am I the only wedding show obsessed person? -
I have heard of others doing this and asking friends that they would have asked to be in the wedding party to wear a certain color. I heard it got very complicated between the friends so they nixed the idea entirely. I toyed with the idea- but decided to stick to my decision. We aren't having a wedding party. I simply told those that I would have invited- that if we were to have a wedding party they would have been chosen, but we decided against having a wedding party. They were all thrilled- both that they knew they were important to us- and that they did not have to go out and buy an outfit that they would never wear again. I also explained that since the wedding was not going to be large- we felt a wedding party would be out of place and they all understood. We are thinking of ways to include my fiance's sister and my brother into the ceremony. That's just my situation. It might be a little strange if they wore the same color- but weren't bridesmaids (what's the difference then?). But I have heard of others doing this and if you think it will work out- then why not.

Wedding Dress HELP!!!
ktchi replied to KacySmy's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Hi, I am also in Dallas and I went to David's Bridal, Alfred Angelo, Bridal Boutique (in Lewisville), and Lulu's. I only tried on dresses that were under $1,000 and I tried on a lot of dresses. Lulu's did not have much of a selection under a thousand. I wold up getting mine at Bridal Boutique and was very happy with their selection. Hope this helps. -
Hi, Well I posted this in the main forum and didn't get any information so I thought I would try here. We have decided to have a civil ceremony, but we were hoping to add a few things to the ceremony such as a sand ceremony or a reading. Has anyone had any experience witht eh civil ceremony or has talked to someone about what the civil ceremony consists of. Would we be able to add or change anything? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
-
Well I have searched and searched and can't seem to the find the information I am looking for- so I thought I would start a new thread for those of us having civil ceremonies in Mexico. I was wondering if anyone has already had a civil ceremony- and were you able to change anything or add anything to the ceremony. I have heard you can add to the ceremony- but the judge won't read anything extra you have to have other family or friends do the extra parts- is this true? We were hoping to add a reading or sand ceremony at some point during the ceremony. Also does anyone have a comprehensive list of what information/steps are necessary for a civil ceremony. I know you need to arrive a few days in advance, but do your witnesses as well?

Hi, We decided to use Samuel Luna as our photographer (our wedding isn't until June 2010 so I don't have any photos). We looked into Del Sol Photography but they were a little too expensive for us. We also looked into Elizabeth Medina but she wasn't available for our date. Samuel Luna is a Mexico based photographer and his rates are pretty reasonable. i don't know too much about him but his portfolio was enough to impress me.

The cost per person for the reception depends on which package you choose. The Fantasy Package is $35 per person over 20 but doesn't include a reception just a coctail party. The Aqua Package is $90 per person over 20 and includes a reception with a coctail 1/2 hour and 3 course served dinner and The Chill Out Chic Package is $105 per person over 20 and you get a coctail 1/2 hour and a buffet dinner. There are other things included in the packages as well. I have a list of the packages and prices and what they include if you want a copy let me know. I believe you can also do it a la carte, but I don't know the prices if you do it that way right now. Hope this helps.

well it's finally official- I will be a Paradisus Riviera Cancun bride. Perla seemed to want me to start making decisions now- I wasn't expecting that and really have no idea what I want. I am just happy to have finally picked a place. How far in advance did you all start really planning the wedding? Also- I know I asked this already- but I am really having trouble with the travel agent and the hotel. We wanted to get a room block through the hotel so that our room might be free- but the travel agent said he couldn't place our guests in the room block that we set up through the hotel so anyone who books through him wouldn't count towards the room block- so now I am thinking we'd rather not go with the travel agent and try to fill the room block in order to get the free room. Did anyone else also have this problem?

Great Buys at Michaels
ktchi replied to ktchi's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
Here are the pictures. Luggage Tags and Passport Holder Luggage Tags alone Passport Holder alone They had a variety of colors including blue, black, red, orange, and pink. They didn't have enough of any one color for me so I got a variety and will randomly give them out. -
Hey everyone, Just wanted to give a heads up that the Michaels near me (in Dallas) was having some great sales on their clearance bins. I was able to get Passport holders for $2 each and luggage tags for $2 for 2. They are pretty good quality. My camera is dead right now- but if anyone wants I will add pics once I find the charger. Hope this helps.

It might be worth it to give her a call and lock down the date. Congrats Hi bumbles, I looked into a travel agent and her prices were about $65 more than the room block rate that the Paradisus, but the rate included the airport transfer so I was trying to see if her prices were higher than if a person booked with the hotel and then got a transfer on their own. I still haven't heard about my date. I e-mailed her again today and if I don't hear from her by the end of the week I am definately going to call and see what's up. Thanks so much for the advice. Also I loved your slideshow and pictures- it was pretty much what made me choose the Paradisus.
