Oh and our wedding is at 2 pm on a Friday so it's definitely not the weekend charge after 4. She said it covered the charge of the gazebo, tables chairs, linens, lighting, set up, etc. I was on the real wedding website the other day and saw this fee listed. It Alllll the way down the bottom of the package page, in small writing, but Fridays are considered weekends.... Plus, everyone says he's great!

I was like "uh no we were told we couldn't"....not that i wanted to though....but still!!! Talk about giving me some notice!! So who knows. I think vows are ok, but sand stuff and readings are a no ( unless this has changed since the beginning of May). One word of advice though for all brides: I was really stressed about silly things like programs and decorations, table cards etc...but really when you get there they treat you SO WELL and are SOO attentive towards you. EVERYTHING is taken care of right away. All my worries were immediately eased. I was able to call my WC anytime while i was there OR go see her in her office. It was terrific! (Michelle was my WC) She ROCKED - actually even before the wedding i never had trouble hearing back from her. The legal ceremony went like this: Judge does an introduction - she said a nice reading from a Mexican poet or something like that. then she did vows. Then we did rings ( kinda similar vows) then we signed the marriage certificate and did our thumbprints. Then we kissed. And it was over! Its really quick but really nice. I ended up not doing programs ( mainly b.c i ran out of time and realized that I was getting married in Mexico - so who really cares?!) But then b/c of the swine flu half our guests canceled the day before we were leaving and half of the wedding party had to cancel too. So i am SO glad i didn't waste my time with them. LOL. If anyone wants the name of that Mexican poet i can watch my video and try to get his name. PM if you want more info too! Thanks! Shannon (Kriswim) Did you ask if you could do the sand ceremony, or were you not interested in that? That would be too bad, we were looking to do sand....

If so, I would only assume that the garnishings go on the plate, like a regular dinner....(if that's what you're asking!)

Heres how it looks like that.. hard to see from the picture.. So if you decide to get the bussle make sure they bring it up from the middle and the 2 sides of the train to make it look pretty Thanks for posting those pics, I was wondering what to do about the train....Looks great!

Also, there was a page labeled garnishing, is it one garnishing or two? I was told one garnishing, but we can pick 2 if we'd like (so, 2, to answer the question!!).

It all looks like fondant to me. :/ I was hoping for more of a butter cream. I guess I'm a bit confused about this. There's a wedding cake (obviously) AND a dessert, that comes with the dinner? Are you guys doing both then??
  10. Thanks for sharing - and congratulations! Where did you find the sand pictures for your table numbers?

My wedding isn't for another year but I decided to start trying on some wedding dresses. I literally only tried on 7 dresses when I got to the Libby. I didn't love it on the rack but once I put it on I just loved it. I was with family and some friends and they all agreed, it was gorgeous. So I asked the lady helping me if I could buy the floor model (I figured I could save some $$ by doing this) and she went to find the manager to see how much they could sell it to me for. They came down from retail price of $978 to $800. I wasn't impressed so I asked if they could possibly go any lower. I mean, the dress was a floor model and some of the details were starting to see some wear, etc. So they came down to $775. I was ready to buy it right then and there when one of the people with me suggested I sleep on it. The next day (a Sunday) I was about to head back to Chicago but first I wanted to stop at the wedding shop to buy my dress. I was ready and just couldn't be without it. Since I live in chicago i decided to purchase the dress in WI where it would be cheaper with taxes. Anyhow, I called the shop and asked the girl that answered to have the manager call me back. I wanted to let them know I'd be purchasing the dress (i was told to call before stopping in to purchase it). I never heard back from the manager. All day but we couldn't wait, we had to go back to Chicago. So the next day I emailed a pic of the dress to my mom and she found the exact same dress on Ebay. The thing is it was in brand new condition, and one size smaller than the floor model I had tried on. Which was perfect! The floor model I tried on was just a touch too big for me. So I contacted the seller on ebay she confirmed it was indeed a true Maggie Sottero Libby and she told me she would sell the dress to me for $550. So, there it is. I purchased the dress off ebay. The girl who sold it to me wound up getting a larger Libby dress - the one she sold was slightly to small for her so it worked out for me! I got it in the mail later that week and it's just lovely. It fits great, a few alterations will need to be done but nothing major. I'm so excited to be a Maggie bride! good for you! Congrats!

The shoes might take me a while so I should probably start looking soon, haha!
  17. Hi Ladies - I read another bride on different thread thread saying that she was going to vacuum seal some of her items, to fit everything in suitcases. I thought this was just a fabulous idea, one I probably never would have thought of! Of course this won't work for those maracas (!) but sashes/tulle, etc, could work. Just wanted to share, for you ladies in May who are planning!!

I just ordered my Maggie (Reese) last weekend - I am SO excited!! I have until November so I haven't really thought about shoes/accessories. I think I will be deciding between colored shoes, for a 'pop,' or ones that match the color of the dress. What are you doing?
