Thank you everyone so so much!!! Yes, we did put them all together (with the exception of the orange pocketfold which already came assembled!) Fortunately my fiancé is a complete computer nerd, loves graphics and has an eye for detail and symmetry. That definitely helps, because I wouldn’t be able to do it all on my own! My job was all the wording and saying “ok, that’s great” or “let’s put that there instead”. Believe me, I did a lot of that…it was beginning to drive Mario nuts!!! The actual design was a compilation of so many florals, swirls, and scrolls that I liked, but didn’t necessarily love. So we put a bunch of different things together! As far as the breakdown…we ordered all our paper supplies from papersandmore.com. The added rhinestones (which were applied using clear nailpolish) and ribbon was purchased from AC Moore. This is what we bought from papersandmore. 1.Orange Flame Metallic A-7 Pocketfold ($42 for 50)…we needed 150. 2.Pearl White Metallic Cardstock 8.5 x 11 ($30 for 100 sheets)…we needed 2 packs. This will do the invite side and the 3 card inserts. 3.Pearl White Metallic A-7 Envelopes ($14 for 50)…these are the outside envelopes where everything is inserted and mailed out (I didn’t picture this). 4.Pearl White Metallic 4-Bar Envelopes ($12 for 50)…these are the response envelopes. 5.Satin Sensations Beauty ribbon ($4 per spool, this will wrap around 15 pocketfolds). From AC Moore. 6.2mm clear rhinestones ($3 for 140)…each card took 4. After we had everything thing measured (multiple times!!) and printed on regular paper, we cut and measured again and again until it was just right and ready for the metallic paper. We then printed them at work, but had them cut for $35 at a local print shop. There was no way we were going to achieve such perfect crisp cuts! So for all you DIY brides, have them cut professionally. It was worth every cent!!! In the end, after all the math, it ended up costing us about $2.65 each (this is not counting ink). Response card had a 44 cent stamp and the outside had a 61 cent wedding cake stamp! There were so many invitations out there that I loved but we were willing to spend upwards of $6 each! It took us about a month between nights and weekends to get it all done! Good luck if you decide to do it! It’ll be nice to hear how much our guests loved them knowing that we made them

Jacqueline, Just wanted to give you a heads up that in your date ninth is spelled wrong. It's not nineth. I'd hate to have you send anything out misspelled! Also, I think your name should come first...it's more proper. Not sure if that bothers you or not.

Need your advice please!

we're having everyone sit at the same table with us at the head of the table...we are having place cards set so everyone knows where to sit and they're not scrambling around trying to figure out who should sit where...i love the idea of everyone being together (we have 30 guests)...it's so much more intimate that way! -

I've been so busy lately with wedding planning and work that I haven't focused on my weight loss. I'm scared of stepping on the scale Anyone have a great tip to put me back on track!?

LOVE THEM!!!!!! I'm going to order mine in hot pink! I bought a Kate Spade pair on Zappos for $300 and honestly they're not the most comfortable! I own Nina shoes and they've always been great, had I known they customize them, I would have ordered them a long time ago!!!! I'm going with your style option...how do they fit? Did you order true to size? I love the idea of colored wedding shoes! It's hot!

The RSVP thing totally annoys me also!!!! That's why the dam date is there!!!!!!!!! Just make up your freakin mind and put it back in the mail! I don't get it. My bridal shower was last Sunday at my parent's house and some of the guests called my mom the day before (said they forgot all about it!)...mind you, they rented tables and chairs! We have our RSVP for the wedding mid November (only 7 weeks from Jan 8th)...but that's also because we included an RSVP for our AHR too! Hoping everyone cooperates this time around. You still have time though...don't stress too much! Everything comes together in the end

Creating Registries?
Sandra&Mario replied to Shommy128's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
You can post it as soon as you'd like! Most guests won't be viewing it (unless they're nosy of course) until bridal shower/wedding invitations are sent. Our wedding is in January and my bridal shower was last Sunday. We've had our registry up since June (so about 7 months out). I'm sure couples have it up much earlier, but like I said...there's really no need to view it until you're ready to purchase and give a gift! Happy Registering...it's so much fun! -
I completely agree that $66 per person is a joke compared to prices here in NJ/NY area. If we were to have our dream wedding here, we'd be looking at close to $200 per person and there would be so many other costs (flowers, band, limos, etc)...which are considerably higher than Mexico! Just an example cost for a DJ here in NJ is upwards of $1,500, where in Mexico it's $600. We're still managing to keep our wedding under $10k (not including our photographer however)...and that would be easily quadrupled here. I know there are beautiful locations to have a wedding in the Tri-State area, but there isn't a beautiful blue water beach and all inclusive resort, especially in January We wouldn't change our minds in a heartbeat. It'll be a magical experience!!!

I've contacted Adrian and got all the scoop. The cost of makeup would be $150 for the wedding day. If you want a trial, say for your rehearsal/welcome dinner, that would be $75. His travel cost is $25. Definitely a bit pricey as is. But that wouldn't be the only costs involved. A day pass would have to be paid to Barcelo to have him come into the resort, unless he is snuck in some how. That is another $90. All of that money for makeup? I mean, it is for my wedding and I will be photographed! But, it all just adds up, I'd have to choose what's most important to me and us. I haven't heard anything about their spa as far as makeup is concerned. I have no problem bringing my own and getting myself done up, but with my nerves and excitement, I may end up with eyeliner all over the place, haha.

pink wedding shoes?
Sandra&Mario replied to Sandra&Mario's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
So cute Amy & Karen!! I love them...too bad they don't have the fuschia color in my size! I wouldn't even know where to go dye them if I bought them in white! And what if the color doesn't come out good or the dye wears off...the whole dying process freaks me out, haha. I'll tell you why...I was a bridesmaid several years ago in my cousin's wedding who wanted all the girls to dye their shoes purple (like Barney!!)...so, I did...at the mall. They were HORRIFIC! The color wore off onto my feet...gross!!! haha. I know this is years later, and it really depends on the shoes and the place...but still, it's my WEDDING SHOES!!!! Kinda important! Thanks for all the options on Zappos...I actually ordered a pair from the RSVP line...not comfortable, AT ALL!!! I walked around the carpet for a few minutes and my pinky toe wasn't happy! Of course this would happen being it's my wedding shoes and all. Because I've NEVER had a problem with comfort, I wear heels all the time! I dunno, I'll just keep looking and looking. In the mean time, I did buy the Kate Spade Clarice ones, from Zappos. So, I'll hold on to them, and if something else comes along, I'll just ship them back...their shipping policy is AMAZING! Thanks for all your help ladies -
As an example, our ceremony is at 4:00pm. Cocktail hour will be from 5-7pm. We have 30 guests so that brings us to $1,095 for 8 hor'dorves (not sure how to spell, sorry!) choices and 2 hours of open bar. It can either be set up by the pool, grill, rooftop, etc. Really, wherever there is an open space, but not necessarily where your reception will be. Hope this helps!

Hope I can answer some questions! Depending on the package you choose, you WILL have a cake! It will either be 1 tier, or 2 tier which is included in the price and will have colors that match your wedding. If you upgrade, that comes with an additional fee. But really, who eats all that cake anyways? LOL. The only real purpose it serves is for cutting and feeding each other for a few pics! The cocktail hour prices vary. The cheapest is $14.50 per person and it's a Mexican theme (ie, guacamole, tacos, quesadillas, empanadas, etc)...there's also an International theme or Caribbean. I have that file if anyone wants me to email it to them. Open bar is available during cocktail also. That is $11.00 per person, per hour for domestic and $14.00 for international. Yes, cocktails can be themed around your colors! I asked that already because mine are orange and pink. Instead of a champagne toast after we walk down the aisle, I wanted festive strawberry margaritas with an orange umbrella or flower (virgin ones for the kiddies!)...and this can be done! Makes for a fun pic too

That is totally weird! My FI has a similar story...his older sister (who was 19) and his mom (who was 44) gave birth to girls on the same day...9/9/93...which would make it my FI's little sister and niece. They just celebrated their 16th birthdays and had a huge soiree! They're juniors in high school and they have a aunt/niece relationship. Like sisters, who live in separate houses, haha. I love weird stuff like that!

I too dream in color and remember every specific detail!! My FI thinks I'm crazy also! Maybe it's a female thing? He rarely dreams, and when he does...he doesn't remember any of it! Then I get annoyed and say, "what's the point of saying you had a dream when you can't tell me what it was about!!!"...haha. And the whole dreaming of getting ready for work and then waking up late...happens ALL THE TIME! I'm glad I'm not the only one
