  1. Something to consder, We are most likely doing the "basic" bar, and buying some extra bottles of alcohol. They charge $8 corkage fee per bottle, but it still comes out wayyyy less!
  2. He finally e-mailed back with the shoe sizes after FI called him and left him a message and I sent ANOTHER e-mail. That's all we've heard though..
  3. The only little girl we have coming is FI's 6 year old niece. I keep asking him to ask his sister if she would be a flower girl, but he hasn't yet. Now I am thinking do we even NEED a flower girl? What are your thoughts?
  4. Thanks! I told FI he NEEDS to call him and check in. Last time we called 4 times with no response. Weird because I teally like his brother. We'll see what happens...
  5. Ya know, neither one of us has her e-mail address. They were only dating 7 months before they got engaged and I only met her twice.
  6. Maybe I am just paranoid, I don't know. Long story short (posted on another thread). My FI's brother (best man) got engaged 2 months after us and is getting married in June (2nd marriage for him, 1st for her). We haven't heard much from him after he announced his engagement. I told Fi to check in on him and make sure everything is ok with him coming to our wedding. He got offended and said my brother will be there, don't worry. Well, we have 19 other people booked (not him and his 2 kids). BEFORE the BM got engaged he declared financial problems with the cost of him and 2 teenagers coming to the wedding. FI offered to help and we haven't heard ANYTHING else. Then I sent out an e-mail 4 days ago asking for shoe sizes for our favors (no response). I think it's rude when you ask someone for a response and you get NOTHING. Also, we sent out our invitations 3 weeks ago, I would think the best man would just RSVP right away. nope. What do you guys think? p.s. I don't really talk to him on a regular basis since he lives in another town.

I had them for 3 months, no damage. It depends on how they are put in. They used protein glue for mine. Hope this helps.

  9. This may be a dumb question, but since this is the first time I ever planned a wedding I just want to make sure how things work. I have a bouquet included in my wedding package, is that the one I use for the toss? Thanks!
  10. Speaking of pearls, my aunt sent me some for an engagement gift. Does this mean she is expecting me to wear them at the wedding. I have beautiful diamond earrings that my FI bought me to wear and my dress has rhinestone embellishments where the halter meets. I am just not sure if pearls would "go" with the diamonds. What do you think?
  11. Registering is fun too. Even if you don't need stuff now, think FUTURE! We registered before we sent out our invitations. I didn't send out WHERE we were registered, BUT one of FI's parents friends already sent us a nice gift from our registry. I think people will want to send you gifts and if you are registered at least you will get some things you want or need. I recommend Bed Bath and Beyond. They have everything there, plus most people use their 20% off coupons
  12. So exciting! We are getting some back already even though the deadline is June 1st. we sent them out pretty early too.
  13. Oops, I posted this on another thread. My FI got his suit last week and it's great! We had been looking for a brown suit (chocolate) and had a hard time finding one. This suit was the perfect color, material and price! I mean, $99! Thanks so much for posting!
  14. I am doing the dry erase board, and was thinking of making a scrapbook. I think cocktail hour is the perfect time to do it!
  15. Well they just came out with the 2009 brochure after 2009 started, you'll probably be waiting awhile for 2010
  16. Erin and Jennie, Our wedding is October 11th We are doing the beach, but may change our mind to the beach gazebo after seeing it. It is extra $$ for either. The beach gazebo is new, it wasn't there 2 years ago when we were there for vacation. We are expecting 40-50 people. We are having a private reception at the amphitheatre. Jennie, I am an RN too and have 19 people booked!! LOL.
  17. I live in Chicago. I have a stupid question, what exactly is a BD session? What do we get for $300?

  19. FI tried the suit on last night, and it fits well. What a great deal for only $99!!!! Thank you for sharing
  20. Okay ladies the custom linen suit from studio suits just came in the mail. It looks great. It's the dark brown color we really wanted and couldn't find. I am just waiting on the FI to get home and try it on. We did the measurements ourselves so I hope it fits (fingers crossed). I'll let you know how it goes.
  21. Have you looked into Melia Caribe, which is owned by Sol Melia( who also owns Paradisus). It is next door. That is where we are getting married because we have been there before. It is BEAUTIFUL and totally affordable. Let me know if you want any info.
