  1. Hey ladies are you all having your 1st fittings in August That's when I'm supposed to have mine. I will have to suck it up and purchase spanx bc I have not lost my desired weight... My 1st fitting came way too fast....
  2. Columbia Bridal Boutique is the best. It was so easy to go right in and go to the destination wedding gowns. I work with Julie and she's great. Very attentive and knowledgeable. She knows women's bodies and knows what will look good on you but still lets you try things on (esp if your family is pushing for something you're so not interested in lol). Plus I thought their prices were great. my gown is a Mori Lee that was 789 but bc of a couple Julie snuck me I got it for 689. I also received coupons for my bm's dresses but we ended up getting their gowns from David's. I work with Jeff there. He's all over the place hence the reason I didn't buy for myself there, but he suffices for my girls they could care less ab how much help they receive. As you can see, I'm very big on customer service.
  3. I got my gown from the bridal boutique in columbia. I only went there david's and Mijordelle's (sp?) in towson. I thought they were really rude and did not focus on me one bit so I promptly left the store after telling them how I felt. They were very apologetic and asked me to come back that afternoon but it wasn't necessary bc I left out of there went to the bridal boutique and bought a dress. I only shopped for 2 weekends. I did alotta looking online and knew what style I was looking for. I didn't expect to purchase so fast but I was just like hey I love this gown and the price is right so why not...
  4. Well I started planning in Nov but didn't get engaged until Jan. But I cannot wait for this to be over (the planning and paying etc). I told my WC the other day that I wante everything done (besides payments) by the end of August, so that I can relax the last few months. I mean clearly there will be things to do but hopefully everything will be organized.my Wedding To do Calendar is getting shorter and shorter... So excited!!!
  5. Welcome Baltimore Bride Sparkle (Yay for Baltimore girls lol) I'm not doing the TTD my wedding day is jam packed and I don't have the time nor will I have the energy I'm sure to change dresses ttd then change back and move on to our reception and island tour. Plus I can't add anything else to our budget lol....
  6. Welcome Love 3.You should check out the Jamaica brides threads they'll have more info on the actual photographers that you could use. I am however making my own centerpieces and mailing them (along with a bunch of other stuff) to my wc a month before the wedding. I don't know what I'm actually doing for centerpieces but I know I'm not doing flowers. I was in Pier 1 yesterday looking for ideas bc they were having a big sale (and I love love love that place) but nothing really jumped out at me. I am so lost on what I'm doing for programs and menu cards. I was gonna do the fan programs with the refresher fans from OTC (that I've already purchased). But now I'm thinking I will decorate those fans to use them as favors and then do reg programs bc I have alotta info I want to add that won't really fit on the small piece of paper I'd have to use for the fans.
  7. Seems like they only have one slot available. Do you think I could lose 20 lbs by then? LOL hopefully they'll be back before Nov....
  8. Congrats Holly. And congrats to everyone who loss weight. Ann thanks for all your hard work... I guess we can all clearly see that I wasn't cheating since I loss nothing. Lol Oh well. The next season really counts for me bc my wedding is in 4 months. So I plan to actually do something (besides weigh myself) next time. TTFN...
  9. OK So I can't find the battery to my camera. I normally text my picture to Ann but I can't this week. So I'll have to text the picture to my cousin who will then email it to me then i will email it to ann... Haha that's alotta work but my lil cuz doesn't mind. She had to do it when I took pics of my fg's dress, so she is used to it. I've been doing alotta running and walking with the dog. So I;m actually excited to weigh in tomm. I am expecting a loss of some sort. I meam clearly I'm not gonna win this season but any loss will be good to me.
  10. O yea I forgot ab karaoke my mom and my aunts (they call themselves the Carter girls) are gonna perform every nite for karaoke. They are even doing costumes. They are hell bent on embarrassing my fi and I. LOL it'll be soo much fun!!!
  11. Ok I had never thought ab my bm's hair lol. I think i want to be the only one with a flower tho...
  12. Hey ladies My ring came as a set so I've had my band since we've been engaged. I love it. I went to get my ring inspected last week and while at Jareds I looked at bands for Brian. I found one that I really loved but was double the budget he proposed for his band. He just wants something really plain no diamonds or anything. Lol we'll see how this works out when it's really time to get his ring.
  13. I wanted to do a cocktail party on the 2nd day of the cruise since our wedding is on the 3rd day of an 8 day cruise. However the cocktail parties were booked so now we aren't really doing anything. I love the idea of the farewell breakfast but I think I'd do it the day before the last day bc it's a sea day and the last day ppl will be busy with disembarking lol. On my website (the attractions page if u wanna check it out) I did ask ppl if they want to do any shore excursions together. Also my family knows this great restaurant in Nassau. So what I'm going to eventually do is make a brochure (vista) with the weeks itinerary. It will have all the events for the wedding day (we have the wedding on the beach followed by the reception on the golf course then an island tour) plus any things for the other days such as everyone who's interested meet us at the rest in Nassua for dinner, farewell breakfast, bachelor and bachelorette parties in San Juan and maybe the one shore excursion if ppl seem interested. Like someone said we want this to be a vacay for everyone so we don't want too much stuff booked/planned for them. But I also have a few friends that are coming alone so I want them to feel involved.
  14. Christina I agree with you on the prices but for veils I think Etsy is cheaper than my bridal boutique. The hair flowers I want are between $25-40 (haven't narrowed it down to one yet). Do you thing that's too much. Also are the girls in ur bridal party wearing flowers in their hair?
  15. LOL EDR I don't freak out yet but I'm sure it's coming. I've kinda handed off alotta stuff to my parents and bms lately and it's helped. I'm currently at the point where I just want this over already. I am giving up on DIY projects and trying to find pros to do them, but realistically I need to do them myself (speaking from the financial side). We purchased the men's attire this week which was great. And all my girls have either ordered their dresses and have them or have picked them out and just have to order them. I am still up in the air ab centerpieces. I don't have a large amt budgeted for them and since we are doing a luncheon reception I want something small with no flowers.
  16. Thats a great idea Natalie. Are you gonna just order sand from all those places or do you have friends/family in the diff areas that could bring to sand to you. OK so I started researching honeymoon options for Jan. We have an extra vacay week with our timeshare so we're gonna just do a villa/condo in Orlando so we can go to Disney and Universal Studios. I'm so excited. We are big amusement park fans so this'll be perfect. The cruise for the wedding then the amusement park fun for the honeymoon. The only prob is that we really wanted an all inclusive place for the honeymoon, but with the $$$ we're saving by using our timeshare we can go out and eat in. It should be cool.
  17. Yes definitely. She sounds great. I wish I were able to be friends with my wc too. And its great that she knows alot ab St Thomas as well. Seems like the perfect match happy planning...
  18. Hey ladies Can you all tell me who you're working with on Etsy to make you veil/blushers and hair flowers... I was looking at VeiledBeauty for my veil and Pin Me Up Couture for hair flowers I love their Lavita and Sweet Treats Hair Flowers. I also like Powder Blue Bijoux.. So many choices so little time. Who are you guys thinkin ab using?
  19. I'm getting ready to go on etsy now and pick out my flower and blusher/veil maker. Also possibly my jewelry maker. Wish me luck.
  20. Well i got my gown a while ago so I'm out but have we heard any news about the BD pics. I guess I shouldn't ask bc I'm been gaining more weight than I've ever loss. Welcome Negril...
  21. Oh I'm also going to do little bags of Avon products. I just started selling Avon so I will do bags of Avon samples in my OOT bags. Haha is that a bad idea, me plugging my business by way of OOT bag
