And If so how? Here's the situation..... Everyone's getting antsy for the wedding cruise. (8 day Caribbean cruise leaving 11.7.09) Our balances are due Monday 8.24.09 and our bestman is going to have to back out. He'd only be able to go at this point if we were able to pay for him and we just can't do it at this time. We paid his $300 deposit and we gave him $150 for the deposit that he never even used (he never sent in the 1st $150 we gave him so in total we have given him $450 at this point. Oh and we also purchased his $150 outfit for the wedding). He still owes $447 on his cruise. Plus he has no flight and hasn't got his passport. I feel like he was really taking advantage of us as he has put forth no effort to do anything. So Brian (FI) made the decision that we need to cancel his booking. I spoke with our PVP (Carnival Planner) today and the girl staying in his room is going to be added to another room (now that room will have 3 girls so their price will be $200 less that what it was supposed to be), and we will get our $300 deposit forwarded to our room. I feel really bad ab all of this bc he was the only person going on the trip for Brian...(As you all know from my other venting Brian has no contact with his family and our BM is literally his only friend) But realistically the $ is due Monday and we hadn't budgeted for this. So now i have like 10 friends and 30 family members going and Brian has no one. This has been really stressful for both of us. I honestly had no problem paying for him but we just cant afford the additional $447 by Monday.... It would have been different if he was upfront with us about it earlier on. I just wish there was a way we could come up with the $$. But on the other hand this guy is a musician (and makes no real $$ I know bc his job is my fi's parttime job and believe me when I say they make pennies, not that I'm being judgmental or anything i'm just stating facts) with no other job and he is taking no initiative to find a "real" job so why should Brian and I work 2 real jobs a piece, to send him on vacation Please don't get me wrong. I really like my Fi's bestie... He's a great guy, but we have to pay over $1000 for our trip by Monday so if we pay for him it will create a financial burden on us, which my fi is extremely opposed to. I however am a social worker so I'm used to being broke haha.... Does anyone have any advice, on whether or not we should pay for him and if so how, I normally would ask my parents for $$$ but they ended up having to pay off some family member's cruises at the last minute so I'm not willing to ask them for an additional $$447 What to do... What to do

Hey Ladies Welcome to all the newcomers... Natural did you go to the bridal show yesterday. I went and had a good time. The only thing that really caught my attention was honeymoon stuff, bc nothing else was really relevant to DW brides oh except ring cleaner, amerprise financial, passion and slumber parties, also this body slimmer demo was good (I am actually making an appt with those girls, but the idea that none of the prces were listed is a bit scary) and of course tasting cake. Unless ur having an AHR which we aren't, but we had a good time none the less.

Well we have a group of 39 ppl. But we still aren't dancing. My FI has no relationship with his family so it would be uncomfy doing the father daughter dance and then he has no one to dance with. Our wedding is at 11am and then we have the reception scheduled for 12:30 followed by a 2-3 hr island tour. So I'm sure our guests won't mind not dancing at a lunch reception. Since we are on a cruise we all plan to go to the club that night to party. So we get the dancing in, just not at the 1pm reception....

We have the steel drum player for one hour during the ceremony as well. I have to figure out what I want him to play thou... I want it to be something different and romantic....

I was just reading a thred in the venting section ab the usps and how unreliable and horrible they are. So while they are the cheapest I think I will go with fedex or ups...

Missy Bee Ur issue reminds me of mine with my father thinking he will surprise me and come to the wedding. The surprise will be on him bc he will have no transportation, no food and no seat for the ceremony. So much for surprises. How does someone think its ok to surprise you and come to a catered affair?

Wow leanne I hope the drug works. if it were me the price wouldn't be that bad but the idea of taking pills 3x a day would kill me. I have to take an antibiotic 2x a day for 7 day bc of a minor ear infection. Let's just say I started taking the pills 3 weeks ago and I took the last one today. I really suck at remembering to take pills.

Good News Tya is letting me pay the prices for 2 ppl so I can now afford my bd shoot.. Has anyone purchased their wedding day undies from Lingerie Lingerie in Towson? I want to go there but I was wondering in they do appts? I'm off the last week of the month and I want to get alotta wedding stuff done. I scheduled my 1st fitting Yay!!!!

Well we are cruising to St Thomas so we are sending all of the wedding stuff (programs, centerpieces, ribbon wands etc) to our WC in October but we are taking an extra suitcase filled with OOT Bags... We figure it'll work out that once we give out the OOT bags we'll fill up the suitcase with all of our treasures from the cruise. My FI and I will have soo much stuff; 4 reg pieces of luggage, my gown, and the extra suitcase for OOT Bags and who knows what else more lol...

Amanandseth- I agree I would just use a different material for the MOH's dress. Date Twin- Congrats again I'm glad everything went so well. I sure could use a weekend at the Poconos lol... Melissa- I used the have a page on my website with pics of the room a list of the amenities and the current cost. But since we are cruising it was easy to just pull the pics off Carnival's website. But it did get annoying bc we didn't book as a group so I had to constantly change the prices. But my guest really like the idea of being able to see the room next to the prices. I have since removed that page bc our booking deadline is long gone....

I think I'm giving up on a BD shoot. I really can't afford to do it this month.. And with Tait I'd have to do it in Aug. With Tya I can do it whenever but the issue is I really can't spend $500 on this project I'm sure it would be worth it but I really don't have that much $$ budgeted for his gift... I did finally get time to look thru all her photos and while I really didn't see many BD pic (I did see a collection of ab 10 pics of a girl in jut an apron and a girl in a jersey, than some of her pictures of the models resembled bd pics but really weren't) with my friends recommendations and from the versatilityty I saw in per portfolio I am very confident with her ability. I think I'll email and tell her I'm interested but really can't afford it.... I'll let you all know how it goes lol... If not no BD pics for me... However I guess I could do it for our 1st anniversary, but I've been promising him this great gift and i guess I'm back to the drawing board....

Natural Have you ever tried loc loops? I use them to get my curls. But if i dont spritz they only stay for 2 days. They supposedly work for all hair types since they are strong enuf for locs. I've only tried them on locs tho... Here's the site if anyone's interested... Lock Loops Home

I haven't had a chance to look at that site as much as she sent me the link this morning, and I'm rushing out now but when I get back in I'll check it out for you and let you know.... My goal for the day is Bridal party shoes, tin pail for my flower girl and a long tin pail for my guest book post cards as well as my broom for jumping the broom ceremony. Oh and a spoon for my tasting ceremony lol... Oh and a picture frame for my guestbook directions. My sister is gonna hate me after today lol....

She is here in Baltimore and She works with a makeup artist to do what are called Diva Glam Partys. For 2 or more Divas the price is $250 per person and includes makeup 90 mins of professional photography, and a 8x6 portfolio of 20 pics, & a free viewing online page. Welcome red head. I wanted to get married on limetree beach. My WC has some beautiful pictures of weddings there, but we couldn't get married there so wo're getting married on Lindquist beach... It's supposedly secluded and the pics I've seen are also beautiful. Happy Planning...

I truly love those ribbon wands I'm ordering mine today!!!! I had totally forgot about doing bubbles, birdseed etc, but this is a better idea... And such a great price fi won't flip out lol...
