Sandra, Fellow BC'er! Congrats on your upcoming wedding. Maui is a beautiful location for your DW. We will be there again in March 2009 and are looking forward to enjoying a few days of vacation while we are there. We have not had any exposure to the Ritz yet, but know that the area will make for a beautiful backdrop. Then again, so will Kapalua beach. Not sure if you've thought about photography yet, but you may want to consider bringing a photographer along with you. Having a photographer that you've had a chance to meet and know their style adds a bit of a personal touch to it and relaxes you knowing you'll get the photography style you've always dreamed of. Welcome Jamie from another BC'er! The Mayan Riviera will make for a beautiful backdrop for your DW. If you're looking for vendors (photographers and DJ's etc) you may want to look at taking a local one along with you. Photography is such an important day to your wedding. If you have a chance to find a photographer who's style you like, and get to know them before your wedding day you'll really appreciate it afterwards. Something worth considering! Hey Leanne! Congrats on the wedding and welcome to the forum. Yay, another Canadian! I grew up in Sylvan Lake, Red Deer and Edmonton before moving back to BC and my husband was born in Calgary. So sorry to hear about your loss. That must be very hard. I hope your fiance is recovering quickly from his surgery. Depending on your venue you may want to think about bringing a vendor or two along with you. It allows you to have a bit more control over those more important parts of your wedding. Here's a suggestion to start you off... consider bringing a photographer (and/or other vendors) along with you. If you have the approval to bring a photographer along, or are willing to have them stay at the same resort and use the 'uncle' term, I would reccomend bringing a photographer along. There are still a lot of photographers that are willing to reduce their package rates if flights and accomodation's are paid for. Best of luck with the plans!
