  1. Hello brides & grooms! How is everyone's planning going? I went dress shopping the other day and I was so set on what I didn't want, no strapless and nothing with a puffy skirt! But then my mom & sis started making me try on those styles and darn it they look good! So I'm down to 5 possibilities of all different styles (even a lace dress and I usually hate lace!) and I'm just wondering if former brides who wore real wedidng dresses were uncomfortable & hot? I was really set on the evening dress style but now I'm torn...
  2. Glad to finally start seeing some good news on this thread again! I hope everything works out for you Maybride2009. Hi Katey, I think quite a few brides have/are having receptions on the beach and I haven't heard complaints of sand blowing in food (it's windy there but not that windy , you can also choose the garden area or the ballroom, but in the garden you need to finish by 10pm, on the beach you can go untill 11pm. Kim
  3. Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry for your girls, I don't even know what to say. That is so devastating. I'm thinking of you and sending happy thoughts.
  4. Also wanted to share that we booked our date for April 28th, 2010 at the Royal and I finally figured out how to upload my picture (4 months later....cough), yahhhhh!!!!
  5. Tulum was definitely my favorite, but I'm not into the long day trips and I liked that it was not too far of a drive!
  6. Just thougt I'd post this link for anyone who is concerned about swine flu, I work in healthcare and this was sent to me: Home

  8. Hello 2010 brides, I'am looking at the end of April 2010 to get married at the Royal Playa Del Carmen, I've been engaged since September and just recently decided on The Royal so I'm itching to start booking things, very excited!!!
  9. Thanks so much for sharing all those great templates and information. You did a wonderful job planning your wedding!
  10. Adriana, I'am tenatively considering April 26, 2010 for my wedding (it may change depending on guests schedules & prices), maybe we will be there at the same time! I was in Cancun last year at the end of April and the weather was AMAZING, only rained for 15 min., that is the great thing about rain there usually it doesn't last very long. Kim
  11. Good luck to all you brides whose weddings are coming up fast, so exciting! I think I managed to figure out the profile pic ting on my own (I'll see when this posts!) and I sorted out the deposit thing with my TA. I'm thinking April 26 2010 for a date but not positive with that date yet......
  12. Also, stupid me can not figure out how to post my pic next to my member name on this site- every time I try it says the picture file is too large. How do you get a smaller picture file? LOL I'am computer illiterate!
  13. Hi Ladies! I'm very excited to have finally decided on the Royal for our April 2010 wedding. Now to decide the exact date....I swear that I saw eariler in this thread that you DON't have to put a deposit down to book your date at The Royal but now this travel agent I've been working with tells me you do. Hmmmmm, is she being truthful? Thanks, Kim
  14. Hi everyone! I'm not sure if this question has already been asked but I'm considering the Royal for my wedding and just wondering if you have to purchase a package and then pay the $50/person from there or if you can juist put your own extras together without a package? Thanks for your help! Kim

  17. Hi ladies! Just to let you all know when I was in PDC a few weeks ago my friend and I did the ziplining, repeling, cenote swimming and half day tulum tour (they are all together in a one day tour) and it was perfect. Personally a full day in Tulum for us would have been too hot and long but the beach there is beautiful so if you brought your swimsuit and planned on lounging on the beacht would be ok. Also I think someone had asked about a bus to PDC, I was told that you would have to get out to the highway to take the bus and then it does take into downtown PDC and it costs about 45 pesos, otherwise a cab to PDC is about 170 pesos each way.
  18. I have seen on all PDC resort websites that legal ceremonies are performed in spanish and will be translated to english. Is this a requirement for the marriage to be legal or are you allowed to be married by the officiant in english (providing they speak english!). Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
  19. I'm also short on points and can't download these documents so if anyone could email me them I'd really appreciate it! [email protected]
  20. (Only saw this hotel through a site visit so I can't review food!) Driving up the hotel isn't really impressive like some of the bigger ones but I liked the feel it was more cozy and intimate and not so cookie cutter! Staff seemed very professional and frinedly and offered me a drink while I waited for the WC. The lobby was quite modern looking. The main pool was nice, the hotel was full and it didn't seem too busy by the pool. I thought the beach was nice, there was some rocks in the water but those subsided after a couple of steps and the water still looked green blue and beautiful. I loved the beach area you could use for a ceremony and reception, it was right at the side of the beach so very private and the WC said the sun sets overlooking the ceremony spot (which is on the beach overlooking the rocky ocean pool) the gazebo was also pretty for a ceremony if you have a smaller group. The rest of the hotel was nice, it was new and like I said not overly huge but I liked this about it (not too confusing to get around!), They also had an adult pool where the WC said you could also setup receptions. The room I saw was very spacious with modern fixtures. Don't really know what else to say reviewing isn't really my thing but hope this helps!
