We actually got engaged on March 13th 2010 at the Riu Club Negril! I had a blast! We would like to have it at the same resort... i just had a couple concerns. Maybe some of you can help me! First.. Is May an ok time to get married in Jamaica? I know it can sometimes be the start of hurricaine season... i would idealy like to get married in August...(i want to be out of school) and it gives us a little more time to plan and save, but i know that is smack dab right in the middle of Hurricaine season! Not too sure about the weather there for those months. That one you'll have to research. 2. When can i book my wedding day? and what were the average cost for your guests to come? My travel agent said i had to wait till the airline was available to even book my date. its not available til 330 days prior to your date....which is July (if i choose May). I booked as soon as the prices for the resort came out! 3. Are flowers and photography extra costs? Flowers were included (they give you about 10 to choose from and if you want something different, then it'll cost you). The photographer was extra. I was disapointed in this because 2 years ago, when my cousin got married, the photog was included in the package. 4. Did you find that the sand was a bit rocky on the beach where the wedding is held? I checked it out when we were there.. and that was one thing that i didnt like. I have always dreamed of being married barefoot... and i dont think that is possible because of the thin, rocky sand! The beach there wasn't the greatest. If you really want to do it barefoot, you'll do it, no matter what!! lol There are just a few to start! haah plenty more to come! Any help is GREATLY appretiated:) I suggest going to Riu's website and checking out the wedding section. It'll give you tons of information on the different packages they have and what they include. Let me know if you do have any other questions, I would be happy to help!

  6. Hi ladies!!! Welcome new girls to our little club! lol Totally MIA lately, but I'm still ticking. How is everyone else doing? So, been thinking about children lately and was wondering if anyone had any ideas/worries/thoughts about being pregnant and overweight? It sorta scares me. I know that I should lose weight, but I just can't seem to.

Thank you so much for your detail review I have shared it with her and she wanted me to tell you thank you. Did you go with the Classic package? Also what time did you get married? Her wedding is at 2:00PM but I think the earliest we can go to dinner for the reception is 6:00PM. Did you have to wait a while for your reception? We went with the Royal package as we had 29 people. Also, we got married at 4pm, the lastest possible so that we didn't have a lot of wait time in between. We did the picture thing between the ceremony and the dinner at 6 so it didn't feel too long for us. The rest of the group just hung out at the bar until dinner. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask!
  10. Totally forgot to come back to the thread and add this - lol sorry. The journal was a hit with us. We both wrote it in every day and now we have a wonderful memory of our wedding and our vacation. We've even re-read it since and it such a great memory. The only thing I have left to do is write about our AHR which I should do because it was a month ago! oopps! lol Anyway, I totally recommend doing this, it's so much fun and especially a good idea if you have a bad memory like me.
