Give your take on having the private reception at the hotel vs dinner at one of their resturants. I don't want to be too cheap but I would like to save some $$ if there is not much difference..

I read Angel's and Foxybride's post and I am ready to run next month. Can't wait..I'm sure I will find something there..

I am looking into using a TA for assistant with my wedding party for july 24th at the Moon Palace Punta Canta. I see some TA are specialist in certain hotels is there any Palace Resorts specialist..What information do I need before going to a TA seeking help with travel and hotel..

Have any of you guys ever done the Filines Bridal run, was it worth it.. I'm taking off work this Feb to do the one in NY, wanted to do the one in Boston but my friend wanted to do NY, plus my MOH lives in NY..

So I hit the confirm button on my save the date cards. I wanted to wait until I got the confirmation from the hotel but since they take a while to get info back to you I decided to go ahead and order my STD. I still want to know if the private reception is better than just using the hotel resturant for my reception I was reading that dinner time at the resturants is early in the evening, I don't want to have the wedding in the heat. I was looking at a thread earlier that had wedding videos of beach weddings. I'm not sure which island it was. On the left of the video were others you could click on and go to the next video. I got lost and now I cant find them again.. Anyone have an idea where I was?? The weddings seem to be on the beach for most of them..

No takes on this.. I really don't want to have a private reception if the resturant after the wedding is just the same. MP or any other brides, what did you guys do?.

I just wanted to get away. If I were to go to JA there would be too many people taging along plus family members there. I wanted something small since i'm going to school and it seem it would be less stress. I called RCI and they gave me a 5 places that they had availability. After looking thorugh the 5 options I called 1 mth after to book. There was now only I option left which Paradise Bravo. I really wanted to get into Occidental which seem much nicer. I booked BP with only 24 hr to confirm, trying to see my other option at different island. The next day I called to confirm and make some changes through RCI and the guy I spoke to said there was a new hotel opening in Jan 09 with the all-I fee only $15 more but I will be worth it. I looked it up and saw the others in mexico etc and was taken away with the beauty of the others. I booked 4 rooms wedding or not I will be there.. I cant stop looking at the place.. Seem like a dream.. I just have to wk with the cost of there service.. I think you will know it when you see it...

I'm planning on doing MP in DR, open jan 09. I'm sure they have this wedding thing covered since they are based out of FL and cover all MP wedding reservation.. Funds are low but I need to know if the private reception is better that having dinner at one of the resturantshe ..The private reception is $400 for table of 10. Also what about the cocktail hr/party after ceremony?? What is this free dinner you keep refering to. Does the all-inclusive fee not cover all meals. The moment I saw the horse-drawn carriage I know I had to get that. What else is a must have even though funds r low?? I got great idea about the music from you guys.. I will take our computer for music..I'm still thinking do as the Romans do, when in Rome.. I may get the local music, depending on $$..

We almost got married on the same day!! I am here biting my nails until Jan 10 for Moon Palace in DR to open so I can get intouch with the onsite people. I changed date to july 24/25 to give me more time to get their wedding dept started.. I will check out the place info...They seem $$$$$$..Good luck..
