We had lunch at Pasteleteria and also tried out 3 of their cakes. Food is delicious and the staff is very helpful and friendly. 1. Tres Leches - The best we have ever had and this will be our wedding cake!!! 2. The chocolate "BOMB" - My fiance wants this too besides the Tres Leches cake. It is very good. I am not a big chocolate cake fan but I will consider order this too. 3. The very chocolate cake - Very rich and definitely a hit for chocolate lovers! I took pictures of the cake and I can forward them if you are interested. Bon appetit!

I walked into the spa inquiring about pricing and the place looked neat/clean. I was told the hairdresser who does wedding hair/make-up does not speak much English. So it definitely won't hurt to bring pictures for your appointment.

These are some of the restaurants we tried out during our vacation/scouting trip. They are all located on/off 5th avenue in Playa Del Carmen. 1. La Casa del Agua ($$$) - Definitely good food and the price reflects the great quality of food/service. ([email protected]) 2. El Bistro at La Tortuga ($) ([email protected]) - Great food at a very reasonable price. They have the best mojitos!!! Also, don't forget about the fruit flambee for desserts! This will be our choice for welcoming/rehearsal dinner. Friendly/Flexible service and great drinks! El Bistro restaurant in Playa del Carmen - La Tortuga Hotel-Playa del Carmen 3. Di Vino by the Glass Bar ($$$) - Pretty good food and they have a long rectangular table that can seat 20 - 22 people in the back of the restaurant. ([email protected]) 4. La Capricho ($$) - Flambee Mexican Cuisine ([email protected]) 5. Sur ($$$) - We had high expectations going in but left disappointed.

I took pictures of the food we ordered. Laura the groups manager has also sent me the information/pricing on the menu, cocktail hour appetizers and drinks. Here are the items we ordered at dinner and EVERYTHING TASTES GOOD: 1. Crusty Scallops - It is one big giant scallop perfectly cooked and the presentation sure makes a great impression on both of us. 2. Salmon and Fish Carpaccio - If you like lox, you will enjoy this appetizer too! 3. Fish Filet au Mediterranean Vinaigrette - The grouper is so fresh and and again the presentation is awesome! 4. Roquefort Steak - The best steak we had in PDC! Definitely a crowd pleaser. 5. Tiramisu - If you are a tiramisu lover, this won't let you down for sure! 6. Tapioca - Great presentation with interesting/refreshing texture/color/flavor. If you are looking for something different, this will be a good wild card.

YES!!! We ate at La Casa del Agua during our vacation in PDC few weeks ago. The food is fantastic and the setting in the restaurant is romantic/gorgeous. Service is impeccable and this is our #1 choice for wedding reception.

We were down in PDC for 8 days earlier this month on vacation and scouting trip. Our hotel was really close to this restaurant but we didn't have the chance to try it out. The menu looks good and the price is not outrageous. There are so many restaurant choices on/off 5th avenue that you won't need to book too early in advance.

I read in one the magazines that Madonna works out 2 hours everyday to stay in shape. I will be happy if I can do half of that.

My girlfriend introduced me to Obagi products and it works pretty well. I am in my 30s and still break out regularly. It takes about 8 - 12 weeks to see big improvement with the Obagi Nu-Derm system but I highly recommend it. As to cost, it is a bit pricey but the entire kit lasts 5 - 6 months. Check out their web site Obagi Medical Products : Home Page. I also alternate Kiehl's with Obagi too when I need a break from the exfoliation with the Obagi products. Hope this helps.

This may not be practical and also depends on how long your honeymoon is. How about splitting time between both resorts?

I have heard Pappadeaux catering service is reasonable and the food is good. Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen - Festivity Rooms & Catering Good Texas BBQ is also a good option. We love the Feed Store in Southlake. Feedstore BBQ - 817.488.1445

Hi Steph, It all depends on the stylist and your hotel location. If the stylist is freelance (e.g. Doranna), he/she will be traveling to your hotel or the location where you will be getting ready for your big day. However, if your hotel is at a very convenient location (e.g. La Tortuga off 10th Avenue & Calle 14), there are 6 salons within walking distance that will provide wedding day hair styling services and also makeup/manicure/pedicure as well. I will post the names of these salons later this evening.

There are vendors off 5th avenue in Playa Del Carmen that claim they can do Henna/Mendhi but I don't think they will be doing anything intricate. Have you taken a trip down there?

We had a blast vacationing in Playa Del Carmen and we had a lot done for our wedding.

This is very sad. Now I am going to think twice before suggesting parasailing with my dad when we return next year for our wedding.

Esencia is absolutely beautiful! We love it but the room policy will not work for our budget.

Blue Parrot is on our candidates list and we will definitely check out the venue, staff and food next week.
