We're going through the same thing. Our wedding isn't until Feb 2010 so we're sending out our STDs next month and hopefully we'll have better pricing in April/May and can send out the invitations then so that people can start booking. I'm the same in that it's driving me crazy but I've been waiting since November and the time is flying by. I've been trying to focus on things that aren't depending on the resort - like dresses! Like someone said though, they are just picking high prices right now because the 2010 pricing isn't officially out yet. So you're better off waiting.

Hi everyone, Just wanted to let you all know that I just found 8" paper lanterns at Michaels for $1.50 each. I picked up the fuschia color but they also have white and lime green. They're pretty small so I'm going to try and use them as my centrepiece with a battery operated tea light candle in them. They don't sit properly on a table so my FIL is going to rig up a little wodden holder that I'll paint white. I hope this helps others out, pretty easy on the budget as far as centrepieces go and I think they'll be beautiful!

Has anyone heard of weddingdressmart.com? They have tons of Maggie Sottero dresses for $350! And the shipping is free...even to Canada. It seems too good to be true...maybe they're knock offs?

Hi Shelley - you're so excited! I love it!! I'm so jealous your wedding is so soon - mine's not until next Feb. I love that area for a reception but I'm not sure if it's by the pool or not. Let me know if you find out. It's such a quaint little space and great for decorating as you could easily hang paper lanterns etc. Have fun & don't hesitate to check in anytime. I'm thinking of doing black BM dresses and having fushia, coral & bright green for flowers and decorations. I love black BM dresses (they'd just be little taffeta cocktail dresses) but do you think they'll be too drab and that I should use a color? My plan is to have color everywhere else though. What do you guys think?? Any thoughts would be much appreciated!

I LOVE it - it's so beautiful. My wedding isn't until Feb 2010 so I've just started looking at dresses but I'll keep this one in mind as it's my size too - that's weird that it runs big though. I'm a size 6 but have been trying on 10s because usually they run small... It's absolutely stunning.

Let's get married - Jagged Edge

A friend of mine got married in Australia and had bbq at her house when they got back. They played the their wedding video in one room and had music playing in other rooms. It was totally laid back, not fancy at all - it was even BYOB and as a guest, it was a great time. It gave her a chance to celebrate with those that couldn't come but she didn't feel like she was planning another big event. This is what my FH and I have decided to do too. I figure it may cost a few hundred dollars and that's worth it to me.

Ok, I'm sending you some reception option pictures, the answers to some questions I had and the different packages. That's about all I have right now. I know, I love the layout so much - 90% of rooms have some type of ocean view!! Also, it's only about 20 mins from the airport and it's only 30mins to Cancun and Playa del Carmen. When are you looking at getting married? We're hoping for Feb 2010!

MsShelly - I haven't been but I've been researching the resort for a couple of months and have decided to get married there. We may do a site visit this winter if we can find a good deal but if not, I'm still confident in getting married there. Hope this helps! Jennie
