I think I may drop my middle name and use my maiden name and then use my FI last name. I hadn't really thought too much about it until right now so I guess I'll talk with him about it tonight to see what he thinks

Congratulations! We're getting married in Cancun in April too but not until 2010! Happy planning! You'll love this site! So much great info

I was getting up at 5:30 a.m. and going to the gym before work for a while and I was feeling SO good! I am NOT a morning person either but once I started getting up and making myself go no matter how tired I was it got to a point where I couldn't wait to go. Then I got an achilles injury and it came to a complete stop. So now I'm trying to get back into it full force. I was up late last night so I wasn't able to go this morning before work, but I did play tennis with my daughters yesterday and plan on going running tonight with my oldest (she takes plesure in dragging me out in the cold when she knows I prefer the treadmill! LOL). Like you said, any excercise is better than none

I don't have the money to sign up for the meetings, but I found an online calculator, and my mom has been doing ww for a while and knows all the rules. I never knew how hard it would be! even the first day it was hard, because I like to snack!!! Kudos to ppl who do it for a long time!!" I was super excited when I saw this thread get started up. I hope it will give me the motivation i need!! When are you guys getting married, and where? Any tips for motivation? Good luck!! Welcome Amelia! That's great that you two are doing it together. It makes it so much easier to do WW with a partner I know WW works and it is a little harder in the beginning because you don't know point values that well but once you start to learn them it really does get easier. Just concentrate on losing a little (no matter how little) each week and before you know it you will be at your goal! I love WW because NOTHING is off limits. You can have almost anything you want as long as you plan ahead and watch portions Oh, and I'm getting married April 24, 2010 at the Moon Palace in Cancun, MX Good Luck and happy posting!

It makes a huge batch so I just separate it into single servings and freeze it. I guess with all of the modifications I've made to it I should call it Taco flavored Vegetable soup now...lol I know it probably sounds weird to add zucchini to taco soup but I think it really beefs up the soup and it actually turns out more of like a chili than a soup. Adding more vegetables makes the soup/chili less points per serving too. This recipe is only 2 pts. per serving. Here it is in case anyone wants it: Taco Vegetable Soup/Chili 16 servings 1C per serving 2 Pts. per serving Ingredients: 5 C. diced carrots 1 C. diced onion 4 C. dicedq zucchini 7 oz can Diced green chiles 1 lb. Ground Turkey browned 29 oz can (3 1/2 C.) Pinto Beans (strained) 1 14.5 oz. can Diced Tomatoes 1 can (3 1/2 C.) yellow corn 1 packet taco seasoning 1 packet Hidden Valley Ranch seasoning mix 4 C fat-free chicken broth Instructions In a large pot brown ground turkey with onion. Add the rest of the ingredients. Bring to a boil. Cover and simmer for 1 hr. My kids don't like vegetables and even they like it! I usually grab one to take to work and eat it with a sandwich for lunch. I also like to have a cup for a snack if I get hungry in the evening. It's very filling for 2 points.

So I've been fairly good my first week back to WW and it has paid off! Lost 2.8 lbs. this week and am feeling pretty good about it. I am extremely motivated to get this weight off so I can start trying on dresses! I plan on making the taco soup this weekend so hopefully next weeks weigh in will be even better!

I was going to include 'useful information', for instance that you should bring biodegradable sunscreen, and how to book a airport transfer to the hotel, but I'm wondering what other kinds of things I should mention? Does anyone know if it's hard to get into the restaurants so you should make your reservations right away, or where you can go to see the nightly shows, etc., etc.? It's hard doing this having never been to the resort. If anyone has input, I would be so grateful!! It wasn' hard for us to get into any restaurants, but we went in May and again in June. I don't think they take reservations anyway. You may want to mention that a few of the restaurants have a dress code (long pants, collard shirt). You can also let them know that there is an entertainment schedule for the week at the check-in counter (usually off to the side where you don't notice them right away). Hope this helps

I know our guests will love it too. There is so much to do for EVERYONE and it is so big that you never have to leave the resort. You don't get bored with the same old scene like at other resorts and the restaurants are great. They have great gyms on site, shops, hair salons, miniature golf, etc. Another good thing about it being so large is that there is a serene quiet side for people who want to relax by the infinity pools and not be bothered (Grand Side), a busy fun side (Sunrise Side) with water activities for adults or water play area for kids if you have families traveling with you or an area that is kind of in the middle of those two - Nizik, where most of the wedding gazebos are.

Oooh Mrs. D! I love your weight loss ticker! I'm going to have to steal it! What a great idea about keeping your weight loss progress posted on your fridge! I would consider doing that too but I'm too embarassed to let my fiance know how much I weigh now! Uggh! Just more motivation to stay on track.

Hi girls! Great job on the 17 lb. loss Lisa! So, I had my first weigh-in this morning to get my "start weight"... and wow.... was I shocked by the number I saw on that scale!!! I am actually really surprised that my pants still fit me after seeing that number (I guess they have been a little tighter than usual though)! ...lol! I am SO glad I didn't wait another day to get started again! I have my work cut out for me. I will check in again next weigh-in with good news hopefully. I'm optimistic. I've done it before and have even more incentive to kick butt again I can't wait to start trying some dresses on so I have to get to work! Good luck!

I think your hair and makeup look gorgeous! Your eye makeup looks perfect and great in pictures!

Hey Mrs. D (To Be)! Yeah, I used to feel that way when I went to meetings too but I don't even worry about it anymore. I just like to go to weigh in and then get some new recipes and tips while I'm there I'm trying to lose about 25-35 lbs. depending on how fit I feel I'm a size 8 right now but was a size 2 not that long ago (well it doesn't feel like it was that long ago anyway!) but I think I'm happier and feel healthier when I'm wearing around a size 4-6. So hopefully I will be there again by April of this year

So I didn't see a 2010 thread for WW Brides yet so figured I would start one on my own. I have been on WW before and love it because it really works and makes sense. I got lazy in the last couple of years with tracking points and some of the weight has crept back on. I'm now ready to get back into tip-top shape for our wedding and look forward to becoming healthier. I am doing WW Online as well as going to the weekly meetings because it keeps me on track and accountable. Having to actually go to the meeting to weigh in once a week is very motivating when you're thinking of having that extra glass of wine or snack when you know you shouldn't...lol Happy posting

I am starting WW again this Saturday (there is no mtg. tonight). I have until April 2010 to get back down to my goal weight (plenty of time) but I know that it works and that I can do it I lost 40 lbs. on WW over 3 years ago and have been lazy about tracking points in the last year so some of it has crept back on. My mini goal is to lose enough weight by this April to start trying on dresses! Good luck everyone!

Any other 2010 Brides out there????
vgirl17 replied to Michelle's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
We are planning on getting married at the Moon Palace Resort in Cancun on April 24, 2010!!! We've been there before and really love it! I'm glad I have a lot of time to do DIY projects and not stress on everything getting done ASAP. Plus it gives us and our guests time to save up I'm still trying to decide when I should send out STDs and Invitations etc... I've gotten a few things and have done a little research on photographers etc. (still have not decided who we want and can afford). It will be here before you know it so I'm glad I have time to plan! So fun! -

I know what you mean, but I wouldn't worry about it too much. You can have a BEAUTIFUL destination wedding for pennies! It just depends on what you feel you REALLY must have and what is REALLY important to you. A destination wedding can be much cheaper than an at home Wedding. You really don't need to spend too much on decor because destination weddings are typically beautiful on their own. Keep it simple and remember what the day is really all about. Good Luck and happy planning!
