I work with a lot of my friends. I'm a nurse and the hospital did a huge layoff and may do another one in 90 days. So now people can't go. My hrs have been cut. Which finan changes what I can do and with the alerts our guests taking young children don't want to come. So I'm trying not to let all this take away from our wedding but it does. So if there is a min to rent tropical I will have to find out other options. What is aqua bar? and can you do DJ ther? I already have deposit on dj and photogr for 5 hrs cause I thought we would be able to do tropical Gabriella told me that you must have a minimum of 35 people for the tropical and anything under that they will charge $18 per person extra. This is a copy of what she sent me via email: Regarding your question, the charge its 800USD per the rent of the Tropical rest as a private event, it's an outside rest and we rent it for groups larger than 35 people, in case that you have a smaller group, you can pay for the remaining 18USD and still have it. The charge included the open bar 4 hours, the special set up (table clothes, ribbons and chair covers) and the service as a private event during the dinner.

I was wondering about you renting out the Brazilian steakhouse. Will you have the entire restaurant to yourself? How much did that cost? Are you able to bring a a DJ? We want to do our dinner there, but I didn't realize you could rent the whole restaurant out. We only have about 25 guests, so maybe this is not an option for us. So I don't see gabriella having a problem with it?!?! The aqua bar is located by the tranquil pool in the del mar. It's nice I got pics if you wanna see what it looks like I can email them... And yes ya can have a dj but I think you have to be done by 10:30pm, better double check that though! Who did you end up getting for the dj, was dj bob able to recommend anyone?

I am going to have between 20-30 people and my plans are similar to yours. My ceremony is at 5:00pm and I wanted to do a cocktail hour on the beach following my garden ceremony so guests would have something to do while we all took pics on the beach. My groom and I are meeting at 4pm to do our own pics before the ceremony. I plan on having dinner at the Brazilian at the earlier seating time which is 6:30, but depending on how long our pics on the beach with everyone take, I hope they don't mind if we get seated a bit later. Does anyone know how strict they are on this? I emailed Gabriella about it, but she has not responded. I am still not sure what we will do after dinner. I am stuck between just getting whoever wants to continue the party to meet up at one of the bars or at the disco, or actually doing something at the aqua bar for a couple of hours with a DJ. My day is only two months away!!! AAAHH!! I really need to figure this out!! I wa thinking cocktail hour, dinner, & then DJ and dancing at the aqua bar. Has anyone seen a reception there? Thanks for any help or advice you can give me.

I am using Sascha Gluck (Wedding Photography for Cancun and Riviera Maya, Mexico Toll free USA/Canada 1800-619-3957). I am probably going to use him for 3 hours and this package is around $650. Check out his site blog, his work is really great from what I have seen.

So I get a reply back, but I'm positive that it is from Reyna Ake (not Gabriela Palacios) giving me the 2009 Iberostar wedding package PDF document. She already gave me this in an email last month. None of the information provided in the PDFs she sent me answer my very specific questions. WTF!! I sent her a stern email back asking when they were planning on answering my questions as those documents have nothing to do with what I asked. I haven't heard anything back yet but I'm just so damn irritated. My wedding is in 3 weeks for crying out loud, now is NOT the time to ignore my questions. Sorry, just had to rant. Michelle, how did you coordinate everything with your photographer on your wedding day at the Lindo? Thanks in advance! I hope you ended up getting in touch with the WC. I emailed her last week and still have not heard back, but my wedding is not until May. Your date is fast approaching and I hope your planning is coming along great!! Can't wait to read your review!!

He's very excellent at corresponding and answering any questions I have and sends me emails when he updates his blog with new photos. He posts on BDW as well. I will do a review when I get back from my wedding, so when I get the pics, I will speak on that a bit too. Hope this helps! THanks! He really does reply quickly and I think I am going to go ahead and book him as well, his pics on his blog are so beautiful!!

I was also looking into book Sascha....did you decide to go with him? His pics are beautiful, but I have not read much feedback about him from other brides. Did you find any info about him from anyone else? Thanks!!

Have you guys decided if you're going to use a videographer or not? The videographer at the hotel went up to $400, but I've heard they're not good either. One girl said he filmed them having pics taken by the photographer and counted that as part of their time. I'm having a hard time finding a good, affordable videographer in the area. I'm considering just having a family member videotape it just so we have something. I don't know what to do!! I am getting married the day after you at the Del Mar as well!!! I am also looking into Cecilia Dumas!! Which package did you choose? I am thinking of having her for 4 Hours. Do you know if you are going to have to pay any additional guest passes for Cecilia/assistants? We will be at the resort until 5/9, so I will probably see you there!!

Also, if anyone getting married (civil ceremony) at Del Mar/Beach wants to see some of the stuff that Gabriela has you fill out prior to the wedding, let me know and I'll email em to you. She sent me some forms the other day requesting bride & groom information as well as witness in and another document requesting our preferences for the ceremony location, cake flavour, reception restaurant, etc. I would love to have the information if you wouldn't mind.
