I agree - tell her you are really excited to go dress shopping with her for a MOB dress... Tell her you want her to be like your bridal party and wear your wedding colors - if you can get her excited about it and make her feel special, hopefully she'll get excited about it too..

I have the Acura TSX with navigation and I absolutely LOVE it!! Acura cars are great - worry-free - I love how it tells you what percentage of oil is left, what the tire pressure is, etc... I had a tire going flat and I probably wouldn't have realized it for a while, but the car told me.. I'm not great with cars, so I definitely need that .. And the Navigation system on the Acura/honda is by far the best, if you ask me... I have driven in a lot of other cars (BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, Infiniti) and the Acura navigation system is much better - much easier to find locations, the screen is better, touch-screen, and also a lot of the other ones don't let you operate them while the car is moving (really annoying esp when you have a 2nd person in the car who could be doing it)... The TL is a bigger, which I didn't like, but has more features, so I'm sure you'll love it ..

I am so glad we did a TTD shoot - we did take some in the water, but we took a lot in some other locations first - on a pier, on shells, walking in town, etc. - I think those pictures are the best and are so unique.. Everyone we show those pictures to is amazed at how great they are.. Your TTD can be whatever you want it to be and is about having fun and getting the types of shots you both want.. But I would definitely say - Yes, go for it!!! As for after the water, I went and rinsed off in the shower (with the dress on), then hung it up and let it air dry. It dried in about 2 days and except for some dirt on the bottom, it actually looks great..

How to determine dress size??
DGG replied to lexibride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I don't know when the running of the brides event is, but I would definitely recommend you go and try on dresses in a bridal salon first... I think it would be much easier going to running of the brides knowing what type of dress you are looking for and you really won't know this (or what size) until you actually try it on.. Otherwise you'll be there in all of the craziness you won't have time to think about what you really like.. Don't feel bad about not buying there, most people don't buy on there first trip anyway and try at so many different stores before they decide.. Or go to RK Bridal (39th and broadway I think) - it's a large discount store (no appointments needed) and you can definitely try on a lot of different dresses and styles without pressure.. -
The white starfish are available again - I have 20 of the 4-6" starfish and 110 of the 3-4" starfish left...

Don't let the stress from other ppl ruin your wedding day.. At least his parents are coming - but as a surprise Don't they realize you have to book things for a wedding?? As for his sister, if you can find a way to help her out, I would.. It really is her fault, but if she is a single mom and really can't afford any extra $$$, I think you and FI might regret not having her there for a little more $$$. We ended up booking travel for some of our family (some with their credit cards and some not) and I was soo irritated at the time, but they all ended paying us back and it was really important to us to have them all there.. Good luck - no matter what, it is your and FI's day and soon you will be a MRS

I'm glad you were able to talk and finally communicate with him... Communication is one of the most important (and sometimes hardest) things in a relationship.. I know it can be easier to keep things in and let things slide, but then it just builds up and turns into an even bigger problem.. But, I still don't trust this Katie chick - I think it's a good idea to get a session of your own and see how she is.. I know you trust your husband (which you should), but I just wouldn't want my husband in certain situations regardless of how much I trust him KWIM?? Then again, he would hopefully remove himself from the situation before it got to that.. but don't ignore your gut feelings... Good luck

So my sister just got engaged, 3 months after I did :l
DGG replied to breeze616's topic in Just venting or funnies
I definitely understand how this is hard on you - but you can try to make this a positive thing.. Think about it, when you are planning a wedding, that is sort of all you think about, want to talk about, etc... Everyone else gets sort of bored hearing about it because they have everything else going on in there lives and really aren't that interested in the details of wedding planning - but now your sister will be the same way and you can obsess over every detail with her.. Your weddings will be different enough that there is no reason to compete - and I think it's better that yours will be after hers.. When hers is done, you will still have a few months to focus on yours and be the center of attention again... And you get a whole weekend or week of wedding activities; she only gets 1 day... -
Tried Latisse??
DGG replied to meli122's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I was reading about it and it seems great - but there are side effects.. For instance, if you have blue/green eyes, it can cause permanent darkening of your eye color.. So consider the risks and benefits carefully.. -
I also got PartyFlops for our guests - yeah, it was sort of expensive but SOOO worth it. They came out great and everyone loved them. People still wear them almost 3 months after our wedding.. Alejandro from Party Flops was great to work with also. Here is a picture of ours - our wedding color was lilac, so we had that for the girls and gray and white for the guys -

I don't think you are being crazy at all. I think you need to talk to him (as hard as it is for you) and let him know how upset you were about yesterday and how uncomfortable you are with him seeing this woman. Even if you trust him, if you are uncomfortable with her (and she does seem pretty unprofessional dressing like that to an appt), he should respect that (and YOU) enough to find another therapist. I would definitely question her intentions dressing like that to an appt.. Good luck..

Real vs. Fake flowers- your opinions?
DGG replied to KJT1985's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I bought a real-touch bouquet that we used for a separate church ceremony we had. I was surprised by how realistic-looking it was. They even sort of feel realistic... If you look closely, you can still tell - but they were much better than I though they'd be. And they photograph nicely. I am actually selling my bouquet if you are interested - but you can at least look at the pictures -- http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t45704 -
I hate to admit it, but I love watching Bridezilla's - those girls are insane and I don't understand why their men put up with it... The guys often look worse than the crazy brides b/c they just take all of the abuse, especially when they treat the groom's own mother like crap.. How can you not even stand up for your own mother?? I don't understand how anyone would agree to go on the show - I looked on the show's website and apparently the bridezillas nominate themselves and I think get $2500 for the show.. Sometimes I wonder if the show is just staged b/c it's so ridiculous... I also used to watch Platinum Weddings all the time before my wedding - my now-husband hated it!! But it always made me feel better about going over my original budget.. I've been to some expensive weddings, but I can't imagine spending that much $$ on one night...

Wow, what a horrible situation to be in - I'm glad you are trying to help - although I can imagine how frustrating it must be for you.. But you may be the only one trying to help her and she really needs help, so I would not give up on her.. I agree with Kate to try to call CPS - they will at least visit the house and talk to the mother - who knows maybe that can help?? Do you have any sort of relationship with the woman? Maybe you can go for lunch with her or try to talk to her when her bf/husband isn't there?? You should be careful, but you may be the only one there to help her.

Hope you feel better soon! Drink lots of fluid and rest a lot and hopefully you'll be back to yourself (and your wedding planning ) soon.. Unfortunately, the flu shot was for a different strain than this virus - the same way you need a new vaccine every year it's because the flu strain changes every year (and unfortunately this summer too..) The vaccine was only to help protect you from the strain over the winter.. so don't give up on it yet

It did the same thing to me.. It said the Alfred Angelo company reported that I violated copyright infringement, so mine was taken down also.. I thought it was because I said the brand name in my description... I didn't get it either.. so I gave up on ebay for my dress..

So, I went to my dentist just before our wedding - she knew I was about to get married and she asks if we are going to start a family right away.. Then she said - well, you know, once you get beyond a certain age it gets a lot riskier... WHAT?? If that was my ob/gyn, fine I would understand her saying that but my DENTIST I answered, did my mom pay you to say that?? I am 31 so I'm not that young, but I still think I have some time Whenever I tell my dad if one of my friends is having a baby now, he says well, I'll bet there parents are so happy - subtle, huh? LOL

show us your rings!
DGG replied to NABUMBAH's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Wow, you all have such beautiful rings!!! Here are mine -- the first picture is my ering and wedding band. The second is my DH's wedding band and my 2nd ring . The story behind my rings - I actually didn't even know if I wanted a ring to begin with (sort of funny that I have 3 now ). I never used to wear rings and thought I didn't want to.. I work in healthcare and have to wear gloves and pick kids up, so I kept thinking a traditional ering wouldn't work for me.. Then, at the first store we went to, I saw this ring and fell in love with it. The diamonds sit really low and the platinum surrounds the stone so it's really smooth. My center stone is actually my great-grandmother's diamond (she died when I was 6, so it meant a lot to incorporate that in my ring), so we designed a similar ring around the stone. We had the wedding band made to fit against it. The second "wedding band" is an eternity band and I absolutely love this ring. I thought I would only want to wear a wedding band to work, so DH got me this ring . Now, I have all 3 (I wear the eternity on my right hand) and I never want to take them off . So I went from never wearing a ring to major bling . And I'm proud that we sort of helped to design all of them . Now here are my attempts to be a photographer: side view:
