I liked the idea too of everyone being able to have a junior suites. And if the new restaurant thing is in effect, my TA says yes (only being able to eat at the restaurants at your hotel), then the Coba has a larger selection of restaurants than the other hotels. I would love to see your pictures of the beach location for Coba, if possible. If you want to post it on here that cool, or if you want to email it to me that would be awesome too. Thanks again! Hi Turtlewax, If you private message me your email, I will gladly email you those photos. I don't think I'm talented enough to figure out how to post them The great thing about this resort is that guests can use all 3 facilities. But we were also told about the new rules going into effect, which helped lead to our decision to pick Coba. From what I've gathered from TripAdvisor, and this forum, is the Coba has the biggest buffet, so if we were to only be allowed one buffet choice, I wanted to give our guests the best selection. I believe the Coba, also has airconditioned ala carte restaurants which was important to us, as we have a May wedding and expect it to be hot. I've read reviews on TripAdisvor about some restaurants being too hot to bare. The only draw back is not being right on the beach, but I'm hoping guests won't mind the short walk. We weren't able to select our wedding location (maybe because we are the 5pm wedding- last one of the day I believe), but I was very happy with what she sent us. Originally, I liked the thought of the Gazebo, but I figure if I am coming all the way to Mexico I might as well get married in the sand!! So far things are running smoothly with planning, we have already picked our restaurant for dinner, and set up plans for after dinner. Can't wait!!! Just over 4 months to go...

Our biggest issue right now is trying to decide which resort to stay at. Coba? Tulum? or Akumal? Any suggestions? I really want to get married on the beach, and am not sure if all the resorts (Coba/Tulum/Akumal) offer a choice of getting married on the beach or not. Does someone have a list of all the wedding sites for each section? Hi Turtlewax, We are staying at the Coba, and were just assigned a beach location. They sent us photos, and it looks beautiful. We chose the Coba as all the rooms are junior suites, which we thought guests would like for more room, but it is a few minutes from the beach. Your wedding restaurant choices at Coba are Le Gourmet, Portofino (Italian), a seafood restaurant, and a medittarian (I can't remember the other names.) Heidi
  3. Hello all, I am trying to decide between the Le Gourmet restaurant and Portofino... Has anyone dined at these restraunts and have any comments or advice? Does anyone know if they are air conditioned?? Thanks a bunch!!!
  4. Hello all! I am getting married May 21st, at the Coba! I can't wait and love all of the information on this forum. I am however, also confused on what exactly we need to have a legal wedding. Our WC has not written me back and there is so much conflicting information out there. Any one from Canada who got married at the Coba who can help clarify?? We are both from Canada and have never been married before. I'm just hoping to get this information, as it sounds like it could be a lengthy process to organize all the documents! Thanks a bunch!!!
