  1. Foxy, Thanks for the heads up! So happy to hear their is no outside vendor fee! Its such a scam! I can't decide whether I want to go with the silk flowers or not. I love real flowers but I know they're going to be expensive. The silk will cost a quarter of what the real ones will, but I don't want the silk bouquets to look fake in the pictures! AAAHHHH! Have you received your bouquets already? Do they look fake in pics?? I was thinking of going with this bouquet but I'd have them use a dark purple accent color instead. My colors are aubergine and silver. periwinkle wedding flowers
  2. Did you have to book a table at the piano bar in New York New York? I am looking into doing something after our reception and wasn't sure what! Another question, I am thinking of having a dinner the night before the wedding for any of our guests who are there and don't have plans. Any ideas of where i could have it?? Also someone we talked to at Caesars told us that there is an outdoor bar at like harrahs? Anyone know the name of this place? I can't seem to find it on google!! Myturn, Can't wait to see your flowers! Yes we did book tables at the piano bar. They are holding all of them till I can confirm the guest count. We're paying the cover for everyone so we can all sit together. Was around $800 for everyone (estimating 60 people + tax and gratuity charge). If your interested I can give you the womans' email address that you'll have to contact. We are also having a rehearsal the evening before and providing dinner for everyone. But since we're going with such an expensive menu for the wedding dinner we wanted something casual for the rehearsal. So we were planning on having everyone up to our room (we have a suite) and we're ordering pizza. We'll grab a bunch of booze from the liquor store. We're also gonna give out our personal shot glasses that night! I know exactly what bar your thinking of at Harrahs! Carnaval Court! They always have a live band and the bartenders do fancy tricks. You can check out a quick video clip of it at the harrahs casino website. It not really a restaurant though, more of a bar, but they do serve food. Should be fine around dinner time, but its crowded late in the evenings. I've been to Vegas 11 times now so just let me know if you have any questions. I'm not an expert but I know most of the properties.
  3. Try checking your airlines website for vacation packages. Book your airfare and hotel through the airline company. You save a ton of money!!! We are using Northwest and to book 3 nights stay with airfare is only $20 more than what they are charging per airline ticket.
  4. One more thing Foxy.... Have you talked to your wedding co-ordinator about whether you have to pay the $200 outside vendor fee for your flowers? Its not like you used another florist or anything but they seem to be particular about these things. I am paying the $200 to have MY BROTHER play the piano at our ceremony!
  5. "By the end of September the weather in Vegas has cooled down to more like "80 degrees during the day. Late Sept/early Oct is actually some of the best weather all year. If you really think you might want the garden chapel, you should look into it now. We were going to do the garden chapel but 6 months out, when we were ready to book, the day was completely sold out!" Foxy, We were actually there last year during the last week of September. Kinda why we picked the 30th. We celebrated our pre-wedding anniversary! HEHE. Anyways it was 98 one day and 97 every other day (we were there a total of 4 days). Most people thought it was pretty normal weather for that time of year because in August it's usually around 120 degrees so that in fact is cooled down a bit. If you check the weather network for the averages in Vegas, it is usually still in the 90's during September. It doesn't dip down to the 80's til mid October. That's why April and October are Vegas' biggest tourist months! I'll watch the weather but I think we'll keep it inside for now. They are actually building a second replica of the garden chapel that is set to be finished this summer with the expansion of the new pool area. So there will be two outside chapels by September. We are getting married on a Wednesday so it won't be as busy and hopefully the garden chapel will still be available if we want it. (at least one of them!) I also have a Princess style dress, so that doesn't help! I just couldn't go with a simple dress! I get hot just putting it on at the store with all those layers! Goodluck with your wedding! I've been to Vegas 11 times now so if you have any questions I'll try to help if I can! Heather
  6. I would love to see the pics!!! Do you know if Caesar's is charging you the $200 for using an outside vendor? Are you shipping them down to Vegas or bringing them on the plane? Our wedding date is right after yours!! September 30, 2009. We are getting married in the Classico Chapel, however if the heat isn't too bad i may change it to the garden chapel. I absolutely fell in love with the garden chapel but it was 97 degrees every day we were their last year and I don't want sweat beads on my forehead in my wedding pics! If the weather is cooler and no one else has booked it the day of our wedding, we may change it. For our reception we have booked Joe's in the Forum Shops. We have a private room. It's gorgeous and the food is AMAZING!!! Afterwards we have a limo bringing everyone to the Bar at Times Square in New York New York for a night of dueling piano's!
  7. Thanks for the info on the places. If your looking for make-up check out the MAC store in the forum shops. They will do your make-up for $50.
  8. Were you able to find a place for mani/pedi's? I'm looking for a place to do the same as well as hair and makeup. Wondering whether its worth the extra money to stay in the hotel for convience or is their a place nearby with alot better prices?!!??
  9. I am not doing a shower. But we are throwing a Jack & Jill about a month before the wedding. We are just having a keg party in the backyard with hamburgers and hotdogs. We also have a pool so people can go swimming as well. We are considering this our AHR because we don't want the hassle of having to throw a party afterwards. Plus we're expecting 50 to 60 guests to come out to our DW so it seems silly to throw a second party when so many of our guests were able to come to the actual wedding. This works best for us! Hope this helps...Goodluck with yours!
  10. These are a few items i was debating to use in my OOT bags. personalized shot glasses vegas keychain or luggage tag emergency kit including tylenol, sunscreen, lip blam, band aids, and alka seltzer (for hangovers) water candy gum condoms (for your friends NOT family)lots of hookers in vegas! welcome letter Keep in mind that Vegas is a totally different atmostphere than a carribean resort. There is so much to see and do in vegas it is very unlikely your guests would use a crossword or sudoku book or a deck of cards. But maybe they plan on laying out by the pool everyday which in that case maybe they would use those things. Just try to think of the practicality for your guests. The last thing you want to do is spend money on things people don't need or won't use. Goodluck!

The problem is there is a base price for setting up the stamp to personalize it plus the cost of the glasses. I don't think you'll be able to find a place able to do it much cheaper. If you didn't personalize them you could probably cut the cost in half. Good luck!
  12. One of my best friends gave out personalized shot glasses at her wedding a few years ago. I loved it! Still use it all the time. So now i'm gonna add them to my OOT bag. Great for after parties in the rooms! Mugs, Coffee Mugs, Shot Glasses, Wine Glasses, Beer Mugs, Champagne Glasses, Wedding Favors, Sports Bottles, Promotional Pens at Discountmugs.com Has great selection of glasses as well as artwork for personalizing!
  13. We have booked the gigi room at Joe's in the Forum Shops. It is stunning and has a great view of the strip. It seats up to 100 people for dinner and there is also a private bar in the room as well. They also have a wireless handheld mic and projection screen and projector available. The food is AMAZING!!!!!!!! We then have a limo picking us up and shuttling all our guests down to New York, New York for a great party at the bar at times square with dueling piano's. Let me know if you have any more questions. Heather

We still have 6.5 months until we get married and so far everything has been a cake walk for us. Our wedding coordinators at the Wynn are prompt in returning emails and answering our questions and our reception venue has the most fantastic group coordinator. Honestly, it has been so effortless it almost seems too good to be true! Hope your wedding planning goes as smoothly as mine has! Yeah!!! Another Canadian plus a Vegas wedding!!! I picked Vegas for the exact same reason. Very flexible for all our guests. We hope to have 50-60 guests although our guest list is close to a hundred. Expecting some people not to come but you never know!! We choose Caesar's Place for the wedding and our reception is at Joe's in the Forum Shops. We too have had wonderful experience planning everything. Heather

Its not fancy at all but i know caesar's doesn't have much for mid-price restaurant options. That is why we have choosen to go to Joe's in the Forum shops for our reception. They also have a beautiful private room which may work for you depending on the amount of guests your expecting. If you don't mind walking I know Paris has a beautiful steak house that is reasonably priced ($arnd 50/per plate) and Bally's has a nice italian restaurant that i think is closer to $40 per plate. Hope this helps Heather
  16. Thanks for the great review. I'm getting married at Caesar's also next September. Just curious how much it cost for Glamsquad (James) to do your make–up and hair. Did he do anyone else in your wedding party? The salon at Ceasar's is $90 for an updo and $150 for bridal. Can't remember what the cost is for make-up but it seemed like alot. I have 4 bridesmaids so I'm looking at $1000 just to get us all ready that morning! So i'm keeping my ears open for other options. Glad your day turned out wonderfully! So far I'm impressed with the staff at Caesar's, unfortunately their prices are quite high though.
  17. I'm getting married in LAS VEGAS!!!! I've been to vegas about 10 times or so..maybe more. I absolutely love this city!! We're getting married at the classico chapel in Caesar's Palace. We originally wanted the garden but when we realized how hot it is during September (It was 97 everyday we were there!) we changed it to the indoor chapel so we wouldn't have sweat beads on our foreheads as we say "I DO". We're then taking our 50-75 guests to Joe's Steak & Seafood located in the new entrance of the Forum Shops. They have a beautiful private dinning room and the food is absolutely fabulous!! Afterwards we want to shuttle everyone over to New York, New York to the Bar at Times Square to enjoy a night of dueling piano's. Considering using outside vendor for flowers since Caesar's is quite pricy but its still early so I haven't looked into that alot. Also if you have any ideas for cheap group activities I'd love to hear them. Any feedback tho is greatly apprciated it. Always great to have a second opinion!
  18. Thank you everyone for all your imput. I loved checking out the links to your websites to get ideas. I've been sick the last week so i haven't been to get started on my own yet but i will post it as soon as I do. THanks again.
  19. Anyone have a wedding website for guests to check information? What company did you use to create the page and were you happy with the result? Were they easy to use? Or have you been to a wedding where the couple had a website. Did you find it useful or is it a waste of my time? There are so many different companies offering this now and I wasn't sure which one to go with. Plus they seem to range in price from free to $100 or so. I feel like you get a bit better product if you pay at least something plus if its free there are usually advertisements on your website and that just seems tacky. Any thoughts.....
  20. HI everyone!! My name is Heather and I got engaged back in June. We have decided on a Las Vegas Wedding, but are by no means eloping. We're hoping to have 50-75 guests make the trip with us. We've already decided to hold the ceremony at Caesar's Palace on September 30th/09. Afterwards we have a private room booked at Joe's Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab which is located in the forum shops. Love to hear from anyone else planning a las vegas wedding or any reviews from someone who got married there.
