Is anyone else getting married on blind faith?
BBtoB replied to Nisi39's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
FI and I went to Playa Car a few years ago, but stayed at another resort. We chose this site from a Destination Wedding TA. We chose it because of the price and how nice it looked. Can't wait to see if we chose wisely. -
POLL: What are your colors?

My focus of this discussion is how many of you are still taking excursions and traveling off the resort given the temperature of the Mexican situation with the Drug Cartel and heightened concerns for safety in Mexico. We had planned to have an excursion day to either Tulum and Xel-Ha (both are Great!), but I am not sure people will want to leave the resort with all the Road Check points I have read about in past posts. Is the current situation in Mexico keeping you from doing Excursions, or are you still planning those off site fun outings for your guests? FI and I have already done those on past adventures and also Chichen Itza (so we are fine with skipping), but most of our guests have not had the chance to do these great activites. I know there was some talk of swimming with the Dolphins etc.from some guests. Should we still proceed with these outings? I realize it is pretty safe in this area. But just not sure it is a good idea. Let's chat! What are you all doing? ****P.S. So I did a search for this specific topic, I found Excursions separate and also Safety in Mexico separate, but nothing on whether you are still planning those Excursions in this present time. Both are great search topics, but I felt this was a timely issue not addressed in past posts. I didn't see a place for this topic so I apologize if this is the wrong place.

Yeah, I might do 10am- 1030 to be safe. BTW, You look amazing in your siggy!

"Hello Everyone, I had a somewhat unique experience. My boyfriend and I decided to elope last summer. I have been planning my destination wedding/honeymoon "undercover" for the last 9 months. With not a soul aware of what we were doing, I found this forum ESSENTIAL to my planning process. My husband and I were married at the Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso in Mexico on 03/06/09. This Friday will be our 1 month anniversary. I am so excited to finally be able to be part of the forum that helped me plan our wedding day. A special shoutout to my fellow Iberostar Brides, I can't wait to post my reviews and pictures to hopefully be able to help another bride in their upcoming Mexico or Iberostar wedding! Again thank you and I'm so excited! -Kristin" Hi Kristin, Congratualtions and welcome to our little group! I can't wait to hear stories about your big day and see pics. My FI and I are staying at the Grand after we get married at the Lindo. We decided to upgrade to treat ourselves. Thanks and welcome! Bess

We rented the Tropical Restaurant for 7pm and are doing an hour of cocktails and apps starting at 6pm. We hired DJ bob for the night and I also am having an outside photographer coming in- I'm using Claudia Rodriguez Photographer. If anyone has questions please let me know. As soon as we return I will post a review. The count down is on! Congratualtions on your day that is coming so quick! Your plans sound great! So are you doing a hair trial before the big day?

What kind of hair style do you have in mind for your wedding? Thanks! That is good! I was thinking 11am, so same ballpark. I too have a ton of hair! I am doing a half up, hald down do with lots of curls. My hair is stick straight so there in itself lies the time need. Maybe I should do earlier even? I antipciate at least two hours. It takes me over an hour if I curl my hair.(which I rarley do!)

Hope everyone else's planning is doing well! Can't wait to see pics of upcoming weddings at the Lindo. Best! Welcome and congrats Detroitbride! I have found the WC to be a bit slow in their communication when I have questions, how is yours?

I haven't even begun to pack, I am a terrible procrastinator!! We are doing the Vitrales room, I thought about the lounge set-up, but it seemed like a lot of $$ for just a couple of hours so I decided to skip it. It's so nice though!! Are you thinking of using it? Good luck and Congrat LindoBride! We have about 30 coming too and are also going with the Steakhouse. We went with the Steak but are going with placeacrds for those non meat eaters. Which did you go with? Wow only a few days to go! We are doing the Los Vitrales room 2.

Jeannie Hi Jeannie, I am glad the counter helps you, it really was a wake up call for me. I thought I had more time too! Planning is going well, I got the list to fill out from the WC's and I too got overwhelmed (saw that someone else did too) I started filling it out and got through most things, but still have blanks. Need to figure out the flowers. We are doing dinner at the Steakhouse and went with the Steak. Although we are going to do placecards for those non meat eaters (*thanks Michelle! )How about you? How is your planning? Low maintenance is great! I am somewhere in the middle.

BBtoB replied to lil_miss_frogg's topic in Buy / Sell / Trade Archives
How old is too old for a flower girl. My FI's cousin is 13 and will be the youngest person at our wedding. My SMIL said she could be a Jr. Bridesmaid, but we still wont have a flower girl. Any suggestions? -

Sand Ceremony Set
BBtoB replied to BlissfulMsMiranda's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
So I found the one sand frame for $50 plus $20 s/h. Are there any cheaper, or is this a good price? seems pricey.
