Ooh! Good question! I am curious about that as well! eek! BTW, I love your thread Dbellie! Great job on everything! Yay! Your day is coming up so soon!!! Wow!

It gave us privacy, we did speaches, cut the cake there etc. The Ipod connections were all there, we actually plugged into a laptop and used itunes, but all the connections were there. They had a speaker and a microphone...which had great sound. It just really felt like a real reception as opposed to just hanging out in one of the bars. We had the room from 8 - 10:30 and then we all headed over to the disco. I'm hoping to get my review out by the end of the week. Wow you sure are busy! That is a lot of new things to happen all at once! Thanks for that info. I am thinking now we might rent it out...we are having an AHR, but it would be nice to hang out and have a private room for everyone to chill and relax and talk. The Lobby Bar...good to know! Thanks again!

You girls were so right! I just needed to get the right bra and try it on again. So Ifound my bustier and tried it on tonight at the store...I love it all over again! Yay! Happy endings all around! Now I am excited for my fitting because it will just get better!

I am working with Destinationweddings.com and they do all this for you. It has been so easy! They do it all! Including setting up your Wedding Date, they talk directly with the WC for you, they negotiate with the resort for the best price and the transfers are included. They also work with your quests directly to get you the best price. Let me know if you need a referral.

We did the $6/pp so the bar was right there in the room with us & honestly, I wouldn't have changed a thing. Just thought I'd let you know. I wasn't sure it was worth it. But I am definitely open to suggestion. If you highly recommend it I still might reconsider. I was wasn't sure about messing with the iPod and paying the xtra $$$. But again, depending on how much it would be and if the iPOd thing works, maybe we will do it. Thanks! I really apprecite that! I can't wait to read your review! Also, if you have bars you recommend to meet at I would greatly appreciate the info! Quote: Originally Posted by dbellie1414 We have this same situation going on... We are having a welcome cocktail with most on may 13 which I set a time/location in the pre-travel brochure and outlined the times/locations for the other stuff. We also made up oot bags and are including another booklet with itinerary of the events/times/locations that the resort will hand out for us to those that we don't see at the welcome cocktail. Check out the link for the brochures I made under my pic of the puppies. Yeah, I am thinking of doing a letter ahead of time too,. I loved your brochures and everything! Thanks so much for sharing!
  7. So I just had a thought...we have people coming in at different times everyday...we get in on the 2nd, along with most our fam, the 3rd most our friends come in...and one uncle on the 4th. The wedding is on the 5th. So how do I get everyone together? Should I send out a letter before we leave and plan get togethers? Any suggestions on how you handled this so we dont just wait around all day? tHANKS!
  8. Wow...you have your hands full. So is she going by herself? Can't she go off and do her thing? She is too funny! You would think it was her wedding with all the details. haha I guess you just have to laugh...entertaining fo sho!

From what I read it may be a little tricky! The arch that they have now at the Del Mar for the beach set up is awful!!!! All I really care about is the ceremony. I am not stressing too much about the other plans. This is what I am thinking: 4:30 wedding 6:30 dinner at the steakhouse 8-10 happy hour at the aquabar...hopefully with a sound system from the resort. That is was I was thinking too. We are doing the blessing...not legal. It is so much cheaper to get married in Colorado. Like $10. And I know a rev. that will make it leagal for us and she will charge $50, so for $60 it will be legal. 4:00pm Ceremony 6:30pm Dinner Steakhouse I had thought about doing the Los Vitrales Room, but not sure about that anymore. May just do drinks at the Bar and then go to the Disco. Still deciding about those details.

I told my mom and sister that when I got married, THAT was my dress! I even said I was going to buy it now because I wouldn't change my mind. When it came time for me to try on dresses, I thought a dress like that one would look silly on me...But girls..It was the ONE!! I just now found this thread today and was feeling your pain as I have been feeling like, "I don't love my dress anymore". But I think I have come to terms, and I am hoping when I get it altered we can do some magic. It is too big in the bust since my sales lady said I should go up a size to accomdate the girls (D cup). Well, I have lost weight and the bust doesn't fit as tight and nicely as it did when I tried on the sample. Anyhoo...I just need to find the right bustier and be sure to tell my seemstress my concerns. I love the syle of my dress, but not the fit since it is too big on me. Well, honey, you look amazing! Perfect choice! Congrats, I am so glad to hear it all worked out. I am glad I am just NOW reading this thread because I got to go through the all emotions, but I get the happy ending without the wait!!! hehe I am so glad it worked out and you are happy!

I had my guests RSVP by Feb 1 and there are still people who say they are coming yet, they still haven't booked. My wedding is July 3rd should I have my planning sheet from the resort yet? Do you think I should contact them or wait and be patient? Hi Sunandrun...M y wedding is two days after yours. Yay! I received my wedding document about a month ago to be completed and turned in 1 month before the wedding. So yes, I would say they should have gotten this to you! Contact away! But no worries, you have lots of time to complete it, but it will help you think of all the details needed.

  15. Thanks for all that info ladies. Man, it sounds like so much hassle to do the legal. Sorry for all your pain gals! I am glad we made the decision to do the legal part in Colorado and Blessing in MX. OMG, that is overload with the religious stuff in the blessing ceremony! Eek!! Sorry if I offend anyone, just not very religious, my dad is jewish, FI fam is Catholic...but that is not going to work for us at all! SO I hope they can tone that down or leave it out. Oh and what is DH? Designated hitter it is not, right? haha

Should I email them? Thanks! Jeannie Hi Jeannie, I got my document emailed at about 3 months. I am just at 2 and a half. July 5! When is your day? So they should be sending it any day, but I am sure you could shoot an email to be proactive. I was surprised they actually sent it to me without asking. But since it is on your mind, I would ask. The document needs to be retunrned (email) one month prior to the wedding. It has all the details you can pretty much think of. that is where I am in my planning. I have it mostly filled out, but might change my mind and want to add/subtract after I read Ryan's Girl and LindoBride's review. Hope that helps! Bess

  19. So yesterday was a big day! I ordered the invitations, booked our band, ordered my shoes, and went bustier shopping. I have my fitting on May 2nd, so need to find the right bustier. So for now...I think I am good. Woo! It is coming quick!

(I'm super busy with work and have hardly had time to catch my breath since we've been back). I just thought I'd check in quickly. I promise I'll get my review and some pics up on the weekend! Kristin Congrats Kristin! Welcome back! Can't wait to hear all about your Big day!
  21. Hey girls, i found my dream shoes. They are Born, Crown Series...I had no idea they made heels! Style W21512. I have never bought shoes online, I actually went to Macy's to find them, but they didn't have the size and color I wanted...so I tried on another color in my size and they were perfect. When I got home I went to Zappos and they had them. I am in love!!!

Jenn The rule of thumb I believe is Two months before the wedding. So you are right on time! My wedding is July 5, 2009, and I just ordered them today. So I plan to get them out the beggining of May. We are having two invitations. One for all the people coming to Mexico, they are boarding passes. And my MOH is making Announcements/an AHR invite to be sent to all.

We did pay extra to have a cocktail hour before the dinner and we are renting out the Aqua bar with drinks and apps. My wedding is 1 week from today we leave this Friday!! I'm sooooooo excited. I will make sure to post full details when we return. Thank you all- this site has been a huge help! Congrats Jwalkowiak! That is so exciting! You have so many people coming! That is great! I wish you all the best!
  24. Hi My Lindo girls, So Michelle, or anyone else that is aware, is there an extra charge to book the Rehersal dinner reservation? There will be 24 of us. We were going to do the Italian. And the Steakhouse for the wedding. Same as you I think Michelle.
  25. Quote: Originally Posted by beachbride08 I would wait until you know exactly how many people will actually be coming. You may not have to stress yourself out about the location unless 60 people end up booking. You send in your details sheet picking your locations, but you finalize everything once you get to the resort so you can make changes up until a day or two before the wedding. We kept our invitations basic. We just listed the ceremony time of 4:00 and then put cocktails, dinner and dancing to follow. We didn't specify a location because we weren't 100% sure where everything was going to be. I did print out a timeline with our requested times and locations for dinner, etc. However, if you decide to do this I recommend leaving the times and locations off and just putting blank lines to fill it in, or bring it saved on a jump drive to print out at the resort. I ended up having to cross out times and locations since we changed teh ceremony location and the cocktail hour, dinner and reception all started a half hour earlier and we didn't find that out until we got to the resort. As far as the music, I didn't look at the convention center so I can't confirm the sound. The resort has one large speaker on a stand that you can use to hook an ipod up to. We used it in the Los Vitrales room, but the room was not huge so the sound was fine. If you are going to be in a bigger room then you might want to rent another speaker or hire a DJ with their own sound system. Hi Michelle, How have you been? It's nice to see you on here again. I was wondering if you had a templete for a Brochure or welcome letter for the resort. I think I saw something on here a while back, but I am not sure where I saved this to. If anyone else has one that they could share that would be so great! Thanks so much!
