I couldn't have said it better than all the girls already have...we're going through the same thing. We did not want a big wedding and that's the main reason we're going away. All these people that are saying they can't afford it a year away is bs...I'm sure everyone can save $20 a week for a year if they really want to come. Cheer up and know that you're not alone in this battle. In the end you will marry the man of your dreams and that's all that matters.

I'm making them as well (nice and light to carry down). I love the idea with the doilies...great idea. My colours are orange and blue...if by chance I can't find bags that colour, I was thinking of putting coloured tissue paper on the inside so the objects are coloured on white bags. Just an idea if you ladies can't find the right colour bags.

My father recently passed away from cancer and I'm in a little bit of a dilemma. I've asked my best friend to walk me down the aisle since he's been like a brother to me growing up. I'm a bit confused on the etiquette of the father/daughter dance though. I've just been informed that my dad's brother (who sat many hours in the hospital with me) is now thinking of attending the wedding. So...do I ask him, my FI's father (who hates to dance) or my best friend that's walking me down the aisle? That aside, I was going to dance to Butterfly Kisses (song meant a lot to both of us) but I'm not sure if that is still appropriate (especially if I dance with my best friend). Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Just a bit of advice...along with what tylersgirl said about the foot petals...stores also sell a container of lubricant (kind of like chapstick for your feet) that you rub on your feet where the straps/back/edge of the shoe meets your skin. It really helps!!

JTAlberta Yaly finally got back to me about the free weddings..here is what she said: "For Canadians coming to the hotel from May 1st to October 31st with a group of 20 or more persons the basic wedding package is free of charge. It must be stated in the reservation, that you are all part of the wedding group." The free part will be what JulieG mentioned before...You will still have to pay for the beach BBQ. Yaly has sent me an information package that I can e-mail to you if you like. So I guess I am now changing my wedding date to May...oh well...at least we save a little money.
