  1. Ew...why won't they take it back!? That's silly. We had some drama with Men's Wearhouse of all places regarding color and stuff...we had to cancel our whole order. I saw another thread this morning though about the linen stuff they have at Old Navy right now...it looks really nice and cheap!!! I'm definitely going to check it out. It looks like they have the color I want. Good luck!
  2. I was just looking on the old navy website and found they have matching linen blazers for men as well...so much cheaper than a linen suit!!! I'm pretty excited! Women's & Men's Clothes: Plus Size, Maternity, Baby & Kid's Clothing | Old Navy Sweetttt!
  3. I agree with everyone else...when I went to try on dresses - except at David's Bridal - all they had were 10, 12, and 14. I think you'll be fine. If they don't have what you want in a good sample size at one store, just try another. Don't get discouraged!! I had so much fun dress shopping....I bought four. Don't have that much fun. LOL. It's bad for your wallet!!!

  5. Yeah, I just emailed Maribel for some clarification. Hopefully she'll get back to me soon - I'll let you all know what she says!
  6. Hey Dana, I hope the babies don't count. I'm actually not even sure of their exact ages, I have to ask Matt. They live in Texas and I've only met them once! We're running into this problem because the babies parents already own a timeshare down in Mexico, so they want to stay there. Understandable, and was totally fine, until other family members decided they were going to stay there as well!!! Is it true that the daypasses only work for an hour before and after the wedding? Can they not buy daypasses to come hang out the day before the wedding? What if I have little events going on? *sigh* I was really hoping no one would go this route!!!
  7. Crap. So, if they do enforce this whole 20% thing, this could be bad for me! Last night, I had two more people RSVP that they are staying at a different hotel, which brings me up to a total of six. I have a total wedding attendance of 22 - including Matt and I and the six staying off the resort. Has any one had experience with this? Do they really count the 20% thing? Does it matter that two of them are practically babies and probably don't need daypasses? Now I'm freaking out a bit.
  8. I thought the day pass thing was that they wouldn't sell them to over 20% of your total wedding attendance...that's what is outlined in my contract with them. I don't see anything about it being in reference to the total resort capacity! Yipes!
  9. Yeah, I was going to say since the original photo has rings all through it, you could probably just edit it in a picture program to say what you want it to pretty easily!
  10. Gosh! I can't believe you all are leaving so soon. I'm so jealous! I can't wait to hear your stories when you get back though!!! jl - I looked around my local photogs to try to find someone to ask about DWs, but I just couldn't find anyone I liked! I ended up going with Misti Abner of Expressions by Misti - she's on the forum. I really like her work, and got her when she was doing DW photo packages for free, so all I'm paying is for her hotel and half her flight - I'm splitting time with another RM bride. Her photographer package is normally only around 500 though, so even if we didn't get her free, we probably would have booked her anyways. I didn't mind the MP photogs - I just really wanted getting ready pictures, and lots of coverage at the reception without paying an arm and leg!
  11. I loved number 2 and number 3...I voted for number 3! It looks like it would be beautiful both in and out of the water! I just think all the layering would look especially beautiful in TTD!
  12. Hey Monica! Well, I don't know anything firsthand, but I have heard about some of the stuff on the news. My fiance looked it up on the gov't website, and he didn't seem to concerned...and he's a little paranoid! He's a police officer, so it's always safety first! Haha. From what I understand, it's just a general increase in crime in all of Mexico. It isn't enough for me to change my plans or any of my guests either. I think we might be a little more hesitant about going off the resort and exploring or shopping though.
  13. Yeah! Post a pic of the dress you bought!! I would have LOVED to do that. If I didn't already buy 4 dresses...I would have been there.
  14. Ooo Marie, good question! I really wasn't planning on it...but I bet I probably should. As for the apostilles, I guess it's not too big of a deal for me...we probably spent 15 dollars including postage to get them...but it took a long time to actually figure out what the heck they were!!!

Our deposit was 1750 I believe. I figured that when I got down to the MP and met with my WC, I would arrange all the free stuff. Especially because I still have no idea how I want all my events to fall!
  16. My ceremony is early - 1pm, so I was thinking of having 2 hours of cocktail reception afterwards. I might just make that my entire reception, or we might go to restaurant for dinner after the cocktails. From what I heard, at the Moon Palace, the cocktail receptions have a lot of food though. I think if you are going to have it after your reception, I bet an hour would be enough. People might be tired by then!
  17. We registered for a honeymoon registry. Some guests from older generations don't like it - but younger generation guests think it's really cool...so it's a toss up. We also registered at Macys and Crate and Barrel for those who wanted to get us a more traditional gift. We thought it's about giving options to your guests, so they can give you a gift they feel comfortable giving.
  18. drtracy - Don't they have golf carts you can use to transport your guests? I could have sworn I read about that somewhere!!!

  20. I remember I faxed my contract in...I don't remember getting any kind of confirmation after that. I remember my Miami person told me that once I signed it, it was confirmed!
  21. We knew (and dated) for about a year and two or three months before we got engaged. We weren't really on the ball with wedding planning though - so we'll have been engaged for 2 and a half years before our wedding rolls around!

I did it all by mail though! Real easy!
  24. You look gorgeous! Your dress is so pretty! And I'll go with the crowd...#2!!
