CRAFTY AJ HOME OMG...I totally did already find someone on etsy to make me a cake topper. I searched and couldn't find anything satisfactory either. I sent her our engagement pictures and pictures of our babies this morning! I'll definitely send you a picture/post one on here when I get it!!! I'm pretty excited about it...I might try to sleep with it next to me because I miss my pups so much!!! For everyone else...yes...I am a little obsessive about Boston Terriers...*sigh*

Hey! My wedding is also early and I've been struggling with what to do for the timeline for a while. I think this is what we are going to do. 8:00am - All the getting ready stuff noon - 1st look pictures? We haven't decided for sure yet. 1pm - Ceremony 1:30pm - Family and Group pictures 2:00ish pm - Cocktail Hour for the guests 3:00pm - Bride and Groom join cocktail hour Here I should say we will probably extend our cocktail hour to include some of the reception things - certain dances, flower and garter toss (if we decide to do them) etc. 5:00pm - Dinner in a restaurant And after that...who knows. I don't think we'll have a formal reception though! I'd love to see what others are doing, especially with early ceremonies!!! I'm still not completely sold on this timeline.

I really loved 40 on you - I agree with Trisha - it gives you the most beautiful hourglass shape. I also liked 23 - the back was so pretty and the front had a really interesting top. But...you should go with the one YOU like!! LOL! When I asked all my friends about which dress I should get after taking lots of pictures like you did, they all chose a dress I ended up not getting - I just loved the other one better!!! Good luck!! Let us know what you decide!

Therefore, if you have 25 guests, would the total cost be $1000 ($40x25ppl) or do they round the number up to $1200 ($40x30ppl)? Hope this makes sense. Myen, that's a really good question. I was sort of wondering that myself!!! Does anyone know??

Joy, my BMs and GMs are uneven as well. I was going to start with the GMs all up front with FI, and then just have the BMs walk up. I think Matt might need some moral support up there! LOL! Tina, that sucks about that family. I've been wondering if my mom is going to end up backing out, but that's probably not due to the economy...*sigh* she's so difficult. I think it's great though that you still have so many people coming and supporting you. Maybe if you get a few more people to come, paying the difference to get the free unlimited functions would be an option. At this point, I'm just hoping I stay under 30 peeps so I can have lots of get togethers in the restaurants. Our contract says we get one dinner reservation in a restaurant for 30 people or less. I was planning on doing like 3 or 4 of these...does anyone know if the contract is worded like that because they charge you for large reservations after the first? Or is it just the first that is prescheduled? Peace out!

Sophia Tolli?
nibsmom replied to BillysBride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
My dress is a Sophia Tolli - Vivienne. I LOVE IT! The picture of the dress on her website doesn't do it justice...it's so washed out and you can't see any of the detail. I can't wait until it comes in and I can go for my first fitting!! MarieSam, I'm also a four dress bride. LOL. No worries. But...I paid full price for three of my dresses - I only got one off ebay - but is was 34 dollars!! Oh well... -
Tina, I've lost a few rooms too, due to stuff going on with the economy. It's not fair! LOL! I ended up making my room requirement because there were a few people trying to put 6 to a room and ended up having to split into two rooms. Do you think you'll be able to make your room requirement? I hope so!!! Betsy - thanks for that feedback!! Maybe we'll pick up a cake knife if we can find one cheap.

I used an outside TA, and my contract specifically states either nights or room numbers for all tiers of free stuff!

Hey MsLeblanc, My contract is coming along - thanks for asking! We went with a outside TA to arrange our contract, so we don't have to cancel rooms in our block until May 17th if we need to cancel any. There should be a similar kind of clause in your contract, probably regardless of who made it. If I don't make the 10 room requirement, which now I will because everyone staying off the resort will now be staying on, the contract is canceled, however, the TA said the people who had already booked would still get the group rate. Our 50% deadline is April 5th - so I am really pushing people who have RSVPed yes to get their payments in! For anyone else who was wondering, I got an email back from my WC about the day passes. Children and infants do count. The daypass is available for the day of the wedding - and for all day - but not for any other day. It sounds like daypasses can only be purchased for the one day. That was why our guests decided to just stay at the MP. It is 20% of your wedding guests too - not the total guest count of the hotel. Good luck LeBlanc...keep us updated!! One of the things I did was made free postcards on vistaprint.com reminding people about the 50% date, and mailed them all out a few weeks ago. It's really helped people get on the ball.

I think it's a matter of what you want...how long you want to hang around with family and stuff. Matt and I are going down on a Tuesday, our guests arrive on Thursday. Wedding is Saturday, and everyone leaves on Sunday...guests to go home, Matt and I to our honeymoon. I think we both feel that once we are married, we will want some alone time!!

Wow...that is so amazing. You are so strong - I don't know what I'd do if I was in your shoes. Thanks so much for sharing that! -
is anyone not having an AHR???
nibsmom replied to mandalaybay3071's topic in At Home Reception (AHR)
I'm on the fence about an AHR...we're kind of in the same boat as some of you - we invited everyone to the wedding - and we only invited important people - so we sent out around 70 invites. Only 20 people are going - so if we had an AHR, it would probably be around 150 people with families and what not. Matt had envisioned the AHR costing around 1000 dollars, which I quickly realized wouldn't be the case with that many people. We are now considering not doing anything at all or just doing a BBQ. Our issue is that I'm from MA and he's from IL - so we have to have 2 AHRs...and with vacation time and work and everything...it's just going to be a real crunch if we decide to do it. Ugh. -
I love your pics! It's so helpful to those of us trying to plan their AHRs!!!! It looks like you had so much fun!!

Reading each others vows???
nibsmom replied to Dreamgirl08's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
LOL...I would probably want to hear them beforehand... A - because I get so flustered about romantic stuff I'd probably crack a joke or something to take the attention off of me... and B - because I'd probably be so nervous that I might not even really remember them!! When I get really nervous or emotional I tend to forget things like that...I've done entire presentations and then walked out afterwards barely remembering what I had talked about. Bad, I know! -
I figured the two night thing was because of the wedding contract...I would figure they'd take any business! So weird. The economy stuff is taking a hit on our wedding too. Definitely some people changing their minds or RSVPing no when we didn't expect it. It's tough - I totally understand, but I'm not even sure we are going to make 10 rooms now. A lot of the people who are coming have decided to triple/quad it up. The nights dictated on the contracts are per room right? Not per person? I wouldn't think so...that would just be too nice!!

any cute sundresses???
nibsmom replied to Gail's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I really love forever21...they always have really bright colors and in season stuff. It always runs just a little big on me, but I have the body of a five year old. I love H&M too!!!!! Cheap and always so cute.
