I am in the same postion too! I would love to send my STD's out soon but the resort we are planning to have it at has no packages yet! We picked a date April 15th 2010 but of course that is based on the availiablity on the resort. I have them all designed with the RSVP post cards too but just wating on the packages!

hey Becky, thanks for the breakdown on prices. We are still waiting for packages for April 2010. I have NO idea what the new packages are going to consist of but it's just nice to see approximate costs. thanks!

Hey there ladies, I too was having difficulties with a 'local' TA. I have family coming from Edmonton/ Toronto and Vancouver! I used to work with a lady in Vancouver that suggested her TA who has had several experiences with Jamaica. From the sounds of it she has been to Jamaica just recently and at the Riu Ocho Rios where we are planning our wedding in April 2010. We are just in the preliminary stages so we are still waiting from the wholesaler for packages and such.. She is knowledgable, full of energy and answers to your emails! If anyone is interested let me know..She works for Flight center in Vancouver.. Like I said I just contacted her last week but from what I have heard she is great!

wow 3 months to book? I have recently found a TA that can help me. I am so clueless about this booking stuff. Once they have the packages and such I will feel much better! So gurl I soooo know how ya feel! I have my STD magnets , letters and postcards all designed and everything! I will probably start my OOT bags in the next couple of months. Maybe i'm just jumping the gun too soon! LOL! But I figure you can never be too prepared!

My FI and I knew that we were going to have a beautiful beach destination wedding but just were unsure as to what resort.Originally we had wanted Sunset Jamaica Grande because one of my friends had gotten married there and had nuthing but good things to say. I had emailed them initially to inquire about prices and such and was a little taken aback as to how much it would cost us when the sole purpose of a DW was to have it a little easier on our wallet. After doing research online and joining the forum we decided the Riu Ocho Rios. We are still currently waiting for the 2010 packages but from what I have heard/read about the Riu I am pretty sure this is the spot! Everyone who has gotten married at the Riu has such wonderful photos and the reviews are pretty impressive. All of the people that I have spoken to have had wonderful vacations at Riu Resorts at other locations. Fortunately for me I have found a TA that has been to the ROR just recently too! Well thats my novel! OH and the pics of the liquor dispensers had nothing at all to do with our choice! =)

I know that the Riu has a wedding site that I frequent as well. JUst google Riu weddings if that is where you are going to have your wedding. As of now it still has 2009 wedding packages. Oh and BTW sunstarsmoon...I emailed Arlett from Rio Ocho Rios the other day and she said that the 2010 wedding packages won't be ready till MArch 2009!! Im gettin a litttle impatient coz I have several guests that are already asking for prices and info already! We have decided on April 15th 2010 but we of course want to be confirmed for that date prior to really doing anything.

Hey All! Just wondering about STD's. Im not really sure how ROR works in terms of booking dates and such. I had rec'd an email from the resort stating that the 2010 wedding packages won't be ready till Feb/March of '09. I want to send out my STD by the end of this month but afraid that I won't be guaranteed that specific date. How do we make sure we get the date that we want @ the ROR? I thought I would write a forum here to see what you other helpful brides know. But I will also be emailing the resort for more info!
