Hello Ladies ! It's been a while since I posted but I've been trying to detox from the forum after my wedding - lol ! Anyway just coming to say hi. Last year at the same period, I was rushing through the last minute preps - getting my dress ready, lots of DIY projects like the table numbers or the programs, putting together the ceremony (for those who'll remember we did it in two languages it was a lot of work !)... I was super excited as I was leaving in like 3 weeks... There was already a suitcase full of stuff sitting in the living room and I was re-doing "invoices" for the customs... I remember having last minutes issues with my venue (which in the end turned out one of my best choices - wat with the swine flu and all !!!) and I was freaking out... ...and then the Day went and it was all so good and today, I don't know, I have wedding nostalgia - and wedding planning nostalgia ! I would like to be doing DIY stuff and shopping for my ring bearer outfit and receiving tons of clothes from Victoria's secret for the beach... ... wait ! I can still do that at least !!! Anyway I thought you between all people would understand... I'm going to surf a lot of BDW today !!

Hello Ladies, So this year I have decided to join the fight against breast cancer, and Race for the Cure in Houston, TX on October 3rd. I registered yesterday and started to raise funds this morning. I have been truly amazed at people generosity. In less than an hour, I had to revise my goal upwards from 500$ to 1000$. Now I'm close to this new goal and am thinking of raising the bar again ! This is the reason for my post : you can also join me in the fight against breast cancer by pledging your support in the Race. Your tax-deductible contribution will fund local innovative outreach, awareness and treatment programs for the medically underserved in the greater Houston community as well as national cutting-edge breast cancer research. Did you know? Every $100 raised will help someone without health insurance receive a much-needed mammogram A donation of $250 will pay for 5 clinical breast exams $1,000 will help pay for 1 round of the chemotherapy drug Taxotere The average cost of treatment including surgery and chemotherapy is $50,000 Please click here to support my participation. I truly appreciate your support and will keep you posted on my progress. Thank you for your generosity. Imagine Life Without Breast Cancer. Sincerely, Muriel

I just wanted to drop a note on an online insurance broker company that I have been using not for my wedding, but for another trip that I'm taking. Having had my wedding in the midst of the swine flu fever, I was afraid the swine flu panic would happen again at the time of my next trip. So, I considered purchasing travel insurance and started to look at who could insure me for this. After reading a few conditions (and they also have this great tool where you can see who has a pandemic exclusion and who has not), I wrote to the customer care service and got the best detailed answer I ever received from an online customer service ! Here it goes : "To be covered for the H1N1 virus in case a country would prevent travelers from entering or if you do not feel comfortable traveling anymore, you would need Cancel for Any Reason. There are 3 conditions that must be met to purchase a Cancel For Any Reason Rider as follows: Purchase the policy within 15 days of First Trip Payment; Insure ALL prepaid and non-refundable travel expenses prior to departure; Have to give at least 2 days notice to cancel prior to your schedule departure date. If you meet all 3 of these conditions, most of the policies will reimburse you 75% of your trip costs, unless otherwise noted. The companies that offer Cancel For Any Reason are: Travel Guard plan names: Cruise, Tour & Travel, TravelGuard, ProtectAssist 50%; Global Alert plans; Travel Insured plans; Travel Safe plan names: Premier 90% and Vacation Insurance; Travelex Travel Max plan. The Cancel For Any Reason will show under the "additional notes" section. Please make sure to click on the underlined phrase to view the requirements to qualify for this option. If you decide to buy this Rider, make sure to click on the box near the Cancel For Any Reason Rider and hit the “buy†button at the bottom of the quote. Please note that these policies are State-specific. Please use the following link to obtain a quote:InsureMyTrip.com | Quote & Buy | All Quote Most of the companies will cover if you become sick with the H1N1 virus except for Access America, Global Alert, Travel Safe and HTH as they have an exclusion for a pandemic/epidemic." So for all of you ladies that can still be covered for your wedding... or another trip... I thought I would let you know ! I got the TripProtectorLite from Travel Insured, who was one of the cheapest, yet very inclusive. They are even covering you if you get pregnant... most companies will only insure you if you have to stay home due to pregnancy, and these cover for normal pregnancy.

Hello ladies, Here are a few items left over from my wedding – mostly because of swine flu ! Side note - the OTC items are still being sold at OTC, so you can either get the ones below alone, or as a complement to an order from OTC. If you are interested by an item please post it in this thread and I will contact you – if you PM me I'm afraid my mail box is going to be full too quickly (I am travelling a lot and cannot check on it regularly). 10 large hibiscus tote bags, assorted colors – 5$ + shipping (original price from OTC ; 9.99$ a dozen). 15 drawstring bags with bright trim – 8$ + shipping (original price from OTC : 9.99$ a dozen). These are small bags, ideal for a first aid or hangover kit. Mine could hold all the medication (in individual formats), an aloe vera gel bottle, and a scope bottle easily. With that I have 14 hangover kit hang-tags, with ribbons of assorted colors (purple, green, orange) ; the little guys are : Alka-Seltzer, Tums, Immodium, Advil, Energy Patch, Scope, After-Sun,, and after-bite. Those are free (yes), I will either ship them with the drawstring bags, or to somebody else if the person that takes the drawstring bag is not interested by the labels (priority to the person who takes the bags). 4 pictures holders, can do for table numbers, or other signs you want to put (for camera basket, etc). 10$ + shipping. 2 calla lilies bouts, 1 orange, 1 white. 6$ each, + shipping (can sell separately but priority to someone taking them together). These are real touch flowers. Ribbon can be replaced. 1 BM calla lily white bouquet (can also be a toss bouquet, or a small bridal bouquet if you don't want a big one) : 20$ + shipping. Those are real touch flowers, so real that the hotel wanted to put them in the water ! The ribbon can be replaced easily. The picture is taken from above and makes it look a bit bigger that it really is. In action on the unique BM who came to the wedding – it's not this one but the exact replica : 1 orchid hair pin, white, from Hair Comes the Bride, 10$ + shipping 1 dendrobium orchid, white, from Hibiscus Floral, 10$ + shipping

Unlike all my other vendors, she seemed to really not care about the payment ! I felt I had to insist to make it happen She was saying : "don't worry, I have your pictures, so I know you'll pay me". It kind of made me freak out a little bit though !

Real vs. Fake flowers- your opinions?

I received my flowers wayyyy in advance (better safe than sorry) and am back in Houston since now 3 months - and god knows how hot and humid it is here - and my flowers are still gorgeous. I had them at home for more than 7 months now - and 2 weeks in Riviera Maya. -
How could I miss Lululemon !! Nooooooo ! Everything is sold out already !!! Can't believe I did not spot this in the list of coming boutiques !

AI or non AI and Why?
Ayita replied to pineapple princess's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
We decided for non-AI for a huge number of reasons : - AI are much more expensive compared to just rooms, and a lot of our guests could not afford to pay 200-400$ a night per person. Food and drinks could not explain the difference - you have to use the activities, or have children, or be a really heavy drinker if you want it to be worth your money - Even if all your guests are AI, you still have to pay for your own food and drinks if you have over a certain number of guests (usually around 20-25 - they call it "private event"). Which means you pay twice for the drinks and food of your wedding (once, your guests pay ; the second time, you pay). I thought it was a rip-off. - if you don't pay for a private event (under the number of guests), it seemed to me weird to have our guests pay for their food at our wedding through their AI fee ! - even if you pay for a private event, external guests still have to pay a day pass to enter the resort (usually over 100$) !!! - the several AI I was considering would only issue a day pass for up to 20% (or other stupid limit) of the wedding guests. Which means that, if I had 30 guests, only 6 day pass would be issued !!! Meaning that if I had 8 guests staying outside, 2 could not enter !!!! Simply crazy. I could not take the risk, knowing most of my guests could not afford the price of the AI and would probably look for an outside place to stay. - most of the AI I was considering were requesting that you use their wedding package, so you're stuck with their wedding coordinator and you end up having to go through the resort for everything and it's usually twice the cost of ouside (for instance : there were only 12 chairs in the package and each additional chair is 8$) - most of the AI I was considering were asking for huge fee for external vendors and I wanted to bring an external photographer - Most AI I was considering would not allow external bottles, or would charge an astronomical corkage fee, and I wanted real champagne for the wedding, not sparkling wine (I'm French...). And one bottle of champagne inside is usually 125$-140$. - Some AI have crazy rules like "you cannot take a piece of the wedding cake to your room". WTF ? So I ended up picking a very small, family-like resort. No constraints ! -
Unrealistic Weight loss expectations?

If you aren't getting enough calories you are going to feel drained and tired and you won't have enough energy to work out. I think with your body type doing more core building exercises would be very benefitial in toning up your midsection. While I wouldn't call your goal unrealistic I think breaking your goal up into stages would be more rewarding. Another thing to consider is changing your goal to lose inches, it might be easier than looking at pounds and you'll also get a better idea of how your body shape is changing. Good luck and congrats on losing 60 lbs so far!!! Amazing! I could not agree more. Starving yourself will also result in your metabolism adjusting and decreasing, which means it will only work so much time before your body adjusts to your new food intake level. Exercise and healthy eating habits are the only things that can make it work on the long run. -
One of them was actually in my user CP : http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...1-2#post893907

I did a cigar station but it was not really a table - just a box with a variety of cigars. I used the lounges that I had for the cocktail, and moved them next to the dance floor so people could enjoy their cigars after dinner.

Congrats and welcome ! playa del camren and the surrounding areas (like Akumal) have a lot of places where you can host a wedding, without people staying there so everybody can pick their resort or hotel depending on their taste/budget and you just have to organize transportation (or they can take cabs). try and look up the site reviews / wedding reviews by MarieSam and SanFranSara (use the search tool), and the review of one of the members who got married at Xcaret EcoPark. On the pacific side you can also try Las Caletas - people stay in Cabo where they want and the wedding is on the island.

OMG, that's awful ! I think you can find somebody who can fix it in such a short time. My seamstress was able to do it in a week - without even me asking. Try and ask a few (other) salons what seamstress they would recommend, call them and ask them if they can do rush fixings...

Unrealistic Weight loss expectations?
Ayita replied to The Mandy in Chandy's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Hello ! congrats on losing 60 lb, that's a huge accomplishment. I dont' know what PCOS is, but even without this, losing 2lb a week seems a lot ! I am on weight watchers too, which is the best way to lose weight consistently and in the long run... and when I do it consistently I lose about 1lb a week. Also, it gets harder towards the end... I'm currently at 163-4 and kind of stuck there... I lose 4 or 5lb in 4 weeks and then I go on vacation or something else and I put them back on. You can try but don't ruin your health at it ! Also remember that the faster you lose, the more likely to gain the weight back in 1 or 2 years... If I were you I would enter a program that I would follow up consistently, and see where it takes me. Againm I don't know what PCOS is, but with my wedding-weight of 155 the Davids' Bridal dress I had for my TTD, that was a size 12, was slightly too large. So you might also not need to go down to 125. And the dress might eventually be taken out a little bit ? Do your best but stay healthy ! I think if you manage to reach 170lb (1 lb week) you will already be so thrilled by the results and your looks ! -
Hair colour opinions!
Ayita replied to DRB's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Super difficult because you look great in both colors. However, given that brown is your real color, and you have only been blonde for a short period, I think dark is better because this is your "true" personality and you might get tired of blonde - and regret have your wedding pictures with the blond hair. -
Real vs. Fake flowers- your opinions?
Ayita replied to KJT1985's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I did real touch flowers for everything. I packed everything in a hard-case suitcase, wrapped in their original shipping paper and cardboard. They arrived OK. I only kept my bouquet with me as a carry-on. It ended up much less expensive than doing real flowers and I got exactly what I wanted. My bouquet looked so real than when I arrived at the hotel, the staff wanted to put it in water real bad ! It gave me a good laugh
