If you have only 4-5 days after the wedding, stay in Mexico and avoid the hassle of having to travel again + the time wasted in travelling ! The Riviera has a lot to offer in terms of outdoors and adventure and a lot of great boutique hotels. You should check out trip advisor for this ! But check for instance : Basico La Tortuga El Deseo Las Golondrinas Le Reve (where I got married, great spot for honeymoon) Luna Blue Le Petit Laffite Cielo The Tides is awesome for honeymoon but you mentioned affordable so... hum... In Tulum there are a lot of great affordable small hotels : Las Ranitas Cesiak Posada Luna del Sur La Zebra You can also try Cozumel and Hacienda San Miguel.

Hi rosieposie, I did the full thing about 4 years ago. I did it in France, before coming to the USA. In France laser treatments are necessary done by doctors, so I trusted it would be done properly. For instance, the doctors would do the face area themselves, and not let the other operators do it, to make sure there was no "accident" (imagine being left with a burnt scar or a white spot ony our face). I don't know about the US - but in Switzerland where I was working at the time, the laser treatments could be done by beauty salons and I really did not like this idea. Let me start by saying I could not be happier. I finished the treatment in 2007, just before moving in to the USA, and my legs and bikini remained like baby skin. I have a few hairs under my pits (maybe a dozen each side), so I know I need to go back one day so they erase those from the surface of earth, but in the meantime this sooooo less cumbersome than having to was every 2 weeks - which I had to do before. So YES ! Definitely a GREAT investment. Probably one the best things I did in my life Keep in mind the results when reading all the negatives I'm mentioning below. For me, it was totally worth it, and I would redo it if I had to ! I first wanted to do one zone, then the other, but after seeing the waiting time and all the annoyance of the anesthesic cream that you have to apply all over and leave for 2 hours before you get your treatment (this is how they did it in the place I went to), I decided to do everything at once. So I did my armpits, bikini (not Brazilian but pretty full zone down there), whole legs (ie thighs included) and upper lip. Where I went to, the also did the toes complimentary with the legs and the tits areola region complimentary with the pits, so I also did those. and while we were at it, they also nicely removed (also for free) a very ugly and nasty brown spot I had on my face. The first thing to pay attention is the kind of laser they use. For instance, I have a friend in New York who has been doing laser for now more than 4 years ! Her package includes as many sessions as she needs, but the truth is, the lasers are not efficient enough and she has to keep going back !! As a reference, it took me only 1 year to complete the whole process and the hair never came back ! When she mentioned to me she could go back to work after each treatment, I went "uh oh ?" because my treatments were really burning me, and the only thing I could do afterwards was apply the medicated burn cream treatment (the same they use in hospitals for burnt, and that we commonly use in France for bad sunburnt) and lay on my stomach. And I was super red, and swollen ! So going back to work ? Not possible if the lasers they use are efficient. Happily the discomfort only lasts for about a day or so. I went to a place that used Alexandrite lasers. I know there lasers are not for everybody (specially darker skins) but for me it worked great ! I found a website where they explain well (and objectively) the difference between different lasers : LASER HAIR REMOVAL Here is what I experienced with the Alexandrite. Because the lasers are really strong and can cause burns and depigmentation, the first thing they should do is a test on your skin, to determine how much heat you can safely take - the amount you can get determines the length of your treatment. For me, who is pretty fair skin with dark hair, I could go with the least number of sessions. I had a friend who is mixed, so her hair is also dark but her skin much darker. Because of this they had to use less power and she had to go to more sessions. For her the doctor took care of her completely because of the risks associated with using Alexandrite on draker skin. During the whole treatment, it is extremely important that you avoid sun exposure, because if you tan, they cannot perform the treatment - you could stay with white spots or burn severly (the laser technique is using the pigments to conduct heat. So if your skin is pigmented, then the heat goes to your skin !). I remember that we were both on the beach during the summer and not taking off our wraps to protect our legs and bikini region from the sun ! But it also involves wearing powerful sunblock on your face if you're doing any area of your face. For me, it did hurt a lot - but I had a lot of hair and sometimes, several hair per hair "hole" (not sure how you call this in english). The way it works : the heat is conducted through the hair to the root of the hair and makes the latter implode inside of your skin. I compare it to having a rubber band slapped onto your face at the spot of each hair ! Now you also understand why you get red The first 3 months was the major investment : the second session is 4 weeks after the 1st session ; the third session 8 weeks after the second ; meaning you have done your first three sessions in 3 months. Then all other sessions were 12 weeks apart (3 months - which makes it easier to save for the money of one session - which was close to 500$ in my case due to the fact I was doing full body - that was approximately the cost of waxing in the same interval so it went OK with the budget). As I mentioned before it took me about a year - 7 sessions exactly to be hair free. Because of the length of the cycle of a hair growth, it is apparently unnecessary to come more often than every 12 weeks with the Alexandrite at least. They actually say the same on wikipedia : Laser hair removal - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Hope this helps !

Ah ! I had a bit of luck. I typed : "travel agent" OR "TA" , and I restricted the search to the travel forum. Check out these threads : http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...l-agent-13308/ http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...l-agent-16525/ http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-agents-10706/ http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...l-agent-50805/ http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...l-agent-53525/ http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...g-ta-do-48416/ http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...uestion-28543/ There are many more. I had a symbolic ceremony. My mom told me it was the best wedding she ever attended in her life ! (and it was not because I'm her daughter) so for sure it must have looked like the real deal. Our Minister made us sign a certificate so it also looked "official" !

Is this crazy?
Ayita replied to TrvlrsChick's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I know I usually can't keep an ice pack more than 15 min when I have to use one - and I usually wrap it in a towel - so keeping it for more than an hour ? No way ! Plus, it would drip between the legs... that would for sure be very uncomfortable ! -
Help! Wedding Planning Stress survey

Hello there ! I'm French and got married to an American so we had 50/50 guests. Most French speakers were speaking English but not all of them so - we did a bilingual ceremony. Basically, half of the ceremony was in French, half in English. For those who were understand both languages, there was no repeat (except the vows !). For those who understood only one language, the ceremony was still making sense as a whole. The minister was speaking a little bit of French so it helped. He sent me a basic ceremony in English and I used it but basically, I re-wrote it completely to suit our needs. I made an entirely bilingual program, where all the readings and songs lyrics were translated in both languages (we had one reading in French and two in English, and all the songs were in English). I can post my templates here later on - they are at home. Also note that my STD and welcome booklets are available in both French and English, so I can repost them in French too (I think I posted the English version only).

Lol ! On our side we partied hard until 4:30 in the morning. We were exhausted and, we had quite abit to drink ! We came back to our room and it was nice and set up for newlywed night - you know, the swan, the rose petals, the chocolates - hubby was like, let's get some ! He laid on the bed while I was brushing my teeth and when I came back, no more than 1 minute I swear, he was snoring.

Wedding Colors--What Goes With Purple?
Ayita replied to karielk's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
The colors at my wedding were purple, orange and lime green. If you're not into lime green, other colors that would work well : bright pink turquoise blue -

If you want to get legally married in Mexico, you will need to contact the French consulate in Mexico to have it recorded on the French Etat Civil. It looks like in Mexico you don't have to publish the bans (I had to in Houston). See the info here : Etat civil - Consulat Général de France à Mexico

The night before.....???
Ayita replied to selassie11's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
We stayed together the night before. We went to have mani/pedi together in the morning, and then I kicked him out of the room at 1pm when the hairdresser / make up artist arrived. The resort lend im a room to get ready. He still cried when he saw me down the aisle I felt the marriage is a celebration of us together - not of us apart -
Bienvenue et félicitations ! I am also French and got married on the Riviera Maya last year. It was awesome ! You've found the right place to find advice ! Good luck in your planning !

What are your guests throwing at the wedding?
Ayita replied to bosi's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I did not want to do bubbles, because of the wind + I was afraid it could stain my dress (that was all silk). We did petals, we used a local florist to avoid to have to carry them. -
Hello Tweets.13 and welcome to the forum ! I got married at a boutique hotel on the Riviera Maya, called Le Reve. I had an amazing wedding. I highly recommend them - the place is gorgeous, the food delicious, the staff awesome, and if they are not able to accomodate all 60 of your guests, there are plenty of resorts nearby (to begin with Azul Fives and the Tides that are just next door. Litterally. You can come wlking through the beach). You can see my site review here : http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...it-pics-34025/ Good luck with your planning ! Ayita

Body wraps--has anyone tried these?? thoughts?
Ayita replied to *Linds*'s topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
Hello ! I've tried a wrap at a Spa before - although I don't think it was was inches loss, more for skin - I remember it was a mud wrap (it was a long time ago). I did not like it too much - I did not like the feeling of being wrapped in plastic film and not being able to move at all for an hour. The woman put a little trigger in my hand saying : if something's wrong, press and we'll come ! Well, nothing went really wrong but I did not feel relaxed or better from the process. But, that's just me ! Maybe some other girls will have had better experiences -

It's actually what the fast food industry puts in the fast foods to make you addicted taste-wise -or other - so it makes a whole lot of sense. Maye you could try several steps - first scaling it down - like try to keep it one meal a day and try to go for the "healthier" fast foods like Subway or the drive-through diet of Taco bell ?
