  1. Thanks for the heads-up ! I feel much better now. I'll just wait
  2. Hi there, since yesterday, it seems like I'm unable to open certain pages of certain threads. At first I thought it was coming from my computer (I first experienced it yesterday night at home). But today it is also doing it on my office computer. I'm using Firefox at home, and IE in the office so it cannot be the browser either. I click on a page, and then nothing. It can be the first page of the thread, or any other page. And it usually does it only on one page (ie, I can read page 1 but not page 2 but page 3 yes...) For instance today I could not open the first page of "what is the song of your first dance". Yesterday I could not open two planning journals pages (but I don't remember which ones). This is so weird - it looks completely random but it might come form a signature of somebody or somtehing that changed yesterday ? I did not experience this before yesterday. Does it also happen to some of you
  3. Of my 3 short-listed I got the dress that my mom liked the less... The idea that she has of me and my wedding is not the same idea that I have of me and my wedding. Go for it girl !
  4. Same case for me - we already live together and I've been single for so long - we have everything... apart maybe from a motorcycle that my FI really wants So we're registering for the honeymoon. Candle dinner for two, bottle of champagne with strwaberries in the room, breakfast in the room, massage, zip lining, excursion to Coban, scuba diving... lots of things to do

I'm not saying I'm fat, but I have a bit of a tummy, some hips and chubby arms. I'm tired. Nothing works! Help! I will start running though... Did you try changing pills ? The pill that is right for you should not make you put on weight...

Thank you all so much for your help and advise! Thanks to Al Cielo for being reasonable. I don't totally understand why the WC fee is so large simply for bringing a few of your own vendors but at least they decided they will still allow those vendors. The rooms are all wood. They are beautiful and peaceful with a hammock in each room and a beach view but they will cost 300-350 per night during the high season (which seems like a lot for these simple rooms) **If it weren’t for the restrictive new policies we would probably get married here. They are in the process of raising their prices and requiring the purchase of a wedding package. This package costs 11K and includes: Wedding coordination, photographer, florist, A/V, music and flowers, minister, marriage certificate coordination. This isn’t a bad deal but we want to use our own florist and photographer and this isn’t allowed. Also, this isn’t a bad deal if you want all these services but if you don’t want some of them (like a marriage certificate or a minister) you are paying for them regardless. Food and beverage is additional and will cost around 150 per guest (more or less depending on alcohol choices). The food prices (86 per person) seem a little costly given the rustic laid-back feeling of the place. This is perfect for the couple who don’t care too much about the vendors they use and want a no-fuss, show up and get married, package. Sarah thank you so much for this information that helped a lot in my hunting. Just letting people know, I contacted Al Cielo for a non-package wedding and it looks like they are now charging 1500 for the WC (for 3 months service). This comes back to some more reasonable pricing.
  7. No veil for me ! I'm not a veil kind of person. Plus, it would hide the sublime back of my dress
  8. I happen to have been harassed by the new girl in the life of an ex... she was calling me on the phone, every day, every night, at work, at home, on my cell... she was ringing and ringing and ringing and as soon as I would pick up she'd hang up. Appears she had taken my contact details from his cell (but she did not bother to hide her number and this is how I found her). My ex was the brother of Mr Asshole... we broke up the day he explained to me I should be a brunette with bigger boobs... anyway... long story short, I changed all my numbers to get peace... and then looking back at it, it's kind of funny. Really. The only reaction to the mails you received : laugh at it, reply by a "Mazeltov, I'm soooo glad he left me and you will be soooo happy together. Thank you for your interest" Nothing makes people feel more shi*tty (and fuming) than when you don't enter in their game. It actually appears that these two are made for each other Don't worry : it has nothing to do with you !! It's all about her... and him. It looks like he's not yet over you, isn't he ? Well you're over him so breathe and laugh. Look at how blissfully happy you are and don't even think about how miserable he must be that the only to get back to you is through a disturbed, insecure kid that he manipulates...
  9. Try and go visit a David's Bridal. They say you should count up to 20 weeks to have a dress come in but : - you can actually pick a dress from the rack if you like it. The only place I know you can do that. - most dresses will take less than this to come. On the three I had shortlisted after my first visit, all three were taking 8 weeks to come in. More importantly, they have all styles and good prices. If you don't want to sell your first one you can use it for you TTD session...
  10. Both look great but I think the first one compliments you better. It shows off your waist and makes a nice silhouette. The back is awesome. I think the first one is less complimenting your body shape. But that may come from the pics. Did you try to clip the dress in the back like they do in the salon, to make it fit better and get a better idea ?
  11. Hello Mel&B, well there are several things that you need to consider... In a "normal" time, I would tell you that having the additional expense of first class for 3.5 hours is not worth it. However, the first class will allow you to hang your dress ; have extra luggage (and if you're taking you OOT bags and everything with you... that can be a lot of money to check in extra luggage, knowing that now Continential even charges you 15$ for the first luggage you check in, 25$ for the second, and the rest is excess...) ; and have the comfort of first class on your way to and from your wedding - which kind of goes with the honeymoon, no ? Our flight will be only 2h20 but I definitely go for the first class...
  12. I've been surfing a lot lately for my dress and the BM dresses... I stmbled upon this site : Cheap Designer Wedding Dresses Wedding Dresses Discounted They explain they work with bridal salons and get the samples still in good condition from them. I guess their inventory varies depending on what they get from who. it's classified by sizes. I thought this might interest you - TTD, small budgets, etc.
  13. I was not sure where to post this - this is actually a fun thing to put in your suitcase for the trip ! those shirts can be customized with the name you want ... one for the bride, one for the groom ? Home Page - LoveYouShirts.Com - Custom I Love T-Shirts and Apparel
  14. I can't vote as I'm not a US citizen ! So glad I could vote here I'm voting Obama - as of course for us French the Rebublican are waaaaaayyyy too conservative... your democrats are our conversative ! You would probably call our liberals "communists" )
  15. I'm desperating... still no venue that would meet my criteria... still looking ! At least, I picked up my dress and we found FI wedding band today. I also ordered my flowers. These are the only 3 things off the list... and there are only 6 months to go
  16. Yeah ! I picked up my dress ! I still don't have a venue, but I will have a dress ! After all, if FI is here and I have a dress, what else do I need... So here it is - it's Winnie Couture. My best shopping experience ever ! Great salon, great destination collection, great people, too. I hope the pics posting works it's my first time... Can't show you yet how it looks on me as the salon model was one size too small for the hips and one size too bigs for the chest... yes I'm two sizes apart... (sigh) One thing I can check off my list !
  17. I'm on Weight Watchers. It's helping controlling your diet and workout through "points". Basically, you have some basic points depending on your basics, you have an additional 35 to spend through the week ; each thing you eat or drink makes you consume points and workout gives you additional points. It's working great for me. I'm doing it online (no time or heart for meetings) and I lost 18 pounds in 2 months. I have 22 more to go... I hope it will be not more than 4 months so that I'm ready for alterations when my dress comes in.
  18. I am going to wear my actual dress. It will be sitting in the attic and never be re-used after that anyway !
  19. Herradura and Don Julio are great. The anejo and reposado are yellow tequilas. If you want white tequila go with the Herradura. Reposado are usually better, though (excellent for shots...). White tequila is good for cocktails.
  20. I have three BM (no MOH) and my FI has 1 "best woman" and one best man... we are going to have to be creative...
  21. I've looked through the sticky thread but could only locate the TA specalized in Dreams Cancun. I'd like to know who specializes in, or has a very good knowledge of, Riviera Maya ? Thanks ! Muriel
  22. HI there ! I personnally think Morocco is the nicest of the North African countries. Marrakech is definitely worth it. I was less happy about the sea-side destinations (Agadir for instance). If you're not used to travelling be prepared for a cultural shock - people can be very insisting with tourists and you will receive a lot of attention from men. Not a good place to hang out by yourself - prefer to always stay with your man ! You might find that August is a bit hot (this is the hottest month there).
  23. I'm going to concur with everybody. You should not freak out because of the size on the tag... I have no idea what my "real" size is today (I'm in the process of losing weight and never shopped for dresses before in the US) but I can tell you that depending on the designer, the dresses I tried on and that fit me went from 8 to 16 !!!! Yes !!! 8 sizes apart !! In the interval of 4 days only (I started on Friday night... and already went to 6 salons as I have to order my dress pretty quickly if I want it in time). What did it teach me ? That the tag means nothing. 8 sizes apart depending on the designer means these sizes can't reflect anything close to reality. So, I'll pick up the "size" of my dress depending on the "size" chart of the designer that I will chose. Allso, follow the earlier advise of going to David's Bridals. My experience there was not the best commercially speaking (I waited for 45 minutes that they would bring the dresses, and had to ask another customer's family - I was by myself - to go get somebody to help me getting in a corset-lace dress as nobody would come after 10 min) but they have dresses at all sizes, and of all shapes. It will reconcile you with your image in a wedding gown. Also, their sizes are very reasonnable (I tried sizes 8 to 12 that all fit me - depending on the model it varies).

I'm hoping you all will share your responses with this doozy... I am not close with my dad AT ALL, we speak MAYBE once a year (if at all). Last year I saw him at my sister's wedding and overheard him saying negative things about me to my sister's husband's family. I sent him a save the date magnet ONLY because 1)I thought for sure he wouldn't come and 2) my siblings probably would have wreaked havic on me if I didn't.... well I HEARD (again, shows the communication between him and I) that he is planning on coming!! I gave until December 20th for guests to RSVP (so we can pass the list on to the travel agent and for deposits). Gals... what should I do? He would in no way be a part of the wedding and I have immense fear that he will bash me at my own wedding to my FI's family. Also, there is no one from his side of the family that is invited (they are all in Germany), so he would be like an outcast, since my family (other than 2 of my brothers and my sister) does not communicate with him. Please help! If your father is capable of saying negative things about you to your BIL's family, he will be capable of doing the same with your FI' family... What you tell of your father reminds me of my maternal grandmother, who told my paternal grandmother all kinds of horrible things about my mother... no need to say my grandmother is not invited to my wedding. I don't know why you sent the STD in the first place... maybe you're still trying to have this relationship "work".. after all he's your father. But you have to decide on what you really want. - If you don't invite him, then it's now "open war" no matter how you explain this to him or your siblings (although some of them will probably be able to understand). It will probably jeopardize anything left of your relationship to your father. At the same time, you know that you won't have to suffer drama and bad-mouthing about you at your own wedding. You'll be able to enjoy the whole thing instead of worrying every time you will see him talking to somebody else. - If you invite him, then you're probably safe on the family side, but how will you live your wedding ? Plus, will this actually improve the family situation as it is today ? Not sure. If this was me, I would definitely not invite him. I would call him and tell him everything on my heart - what I overheard, what I know - and tell him I don't want to take the chance that he ruins MY day. If your relations are already bad enough that he bad mouthes you with your BIL family, well, it will just give him more to talk about... and this time at least there will be some truth in it. Some of your siblings might understand, others not... that will definitely make it difficult. But I know I'm a strong person and I can go through that for the sake of my quietness. I don't know what's your story, so think about what you know you can take, what are your limits... A good question to ask yourself is what is more important : you and your wedding, or your siblings and your relationship to them (if they are the true reason why you sent the STD in the first place).
