In order not to be off, I'm thinking of guayaberas : the fabric can be neutral, and the detail orange (or blue), if it's not the exact same color it's not overwhelming. I happen to have met a good number of famous people - it's all about what "famous" means The most famous person I met is probably Nicolas Sarkozy, the current French president. I met him about 15 years ago, when he was the mayor of Neuilly sur Seine, he married one of my friends - when I say he married, I means, he officiated ! In France the legal wedding is in the TownHall, not in Court, and the mayor or townhall officials are the officiants. I also met with the former President, Jacques Chirac, also when he was the mayor of Paris. I was singing in a choir and we gave a concert in the Paris Townhall. With the same choir, I also met with Johnny Halliday. He's a famous French rock singer, I think he's a little bit known in the US (I saw him 2 weeks ago as a jury in charm school, lol). Well, he needed some chorists for a TV show, and I was lucky to be picked (we were doing random selections amongst the volunteers). I was very impressed, strangely, I did not expect to be impressed but he really has something impressive. I asked for autographs and a picture (my mom has been a big fan since she was 15, I wanted this for her !!). Other than this, all the other famous people that I met are salsa musicians. You might not know them - to know them you have to know salsa music... but if you know salsa music, you know them !! I happen to have been really into salsa, enough to not only dance but also sing, and I did not miss one concert when I could... One thing after another, you meet one guy, then two, then the next concert one of them introduces you to the third one... etc. I have pics with people like Ray Barretto (the summer before he died), Johnny Pacheco, Roberto Roena, Jose Alberto El Canario, the singers from El Gran Combo, all the members from Spanish Harlem Orchestra, etc. I have spent some time (dinners, drinks, etc) with Jimmy Bosch, Frankie Vazquez, Ray de la Paz... In fact, all the salsa musicians are super cool guys. So if you want to know them you just go and talk to them, and most of the time it's easy because the dancers are more interested in dancing and meeting the other dancers... so you don't have to fight ! I guess it's not the same for actors !

Actually, I did not want to do one until I saw all these pictures of brides with their veil in the wind and it's so beautiful ! I've decide to go for a short one that would be just underneath my low-do... not too overwhelming, but enough for the veil sensation. I will take it off after the ceremony...

yes, different airlines have different policies. For instance, I know some have black-out dates - dates where you just cannot use miles to book tickets. This said, only allowing you to get one seat is rough ! Do they have different "prices" for their seats ? Like, for AF, you can get "mini-miles" of "open-miles" fares. For mini-miles you will "pay" 90.000 miles and open-miles, 180.000 - so you double the price in miles but there are no more seat restrictions. For what it's worth - I would send them a hell of an email to tell them what I think of their policy and how customer-friendly their reward program is !

I am in this case. The hotel I booked did not originally have their own wedding planner, so I started to look for an outside one. I know they limit the number of seats but I never had the issue - I booked business class on Air France last summer with points and I could get two seats with no problem... by the way, Air France is going to Papeete... check flights out from Los Angeles, the flight is coming from Paris, makes a technical stop at LA, and then off to Papeete. From there there is a domestic flight to Bora Bora. I think they take incoming passengers in LA is some people only book the Paris-LA section of this flight, and they make everybody get out of the aircraft.

I booked Le Reve for the following reasons : 1. Although it's adults only, it will allow kids on the big day 2. It's not an AI - no need to pay a day pas for external guests, or "double pay" the food and drinks (in a lot of resorts you need a "private event" ie you pay for food and drinks on top of the day pass or AI accomodation price) 3. Small, intimate venue - only 25 rooms, only my wedding on the day (and the day before and after). It's like I get the place for myself. 4. Overall very good reviews for the hotel and the food 5. Absolutely gorgeous 6. Available people, I can talk to them on the phone any time - when I call they always answer - plus they are super pleasant to work with 7. Close to Playa del Carmen (10 minutes) and to other resorts that welcome children 8. The name (it's French and it means "the Dream") !

In TX you have to live together (can be as short as 1 week), present yourself as married, and "agree to be married" (ie if your man presents you as your wife and you say : actually not, we're just living together, it's not working). Of course proving a common law marriage if you're in one is super difficult, as well as denying it if you're living together since 10 years, have kids and a common bank account ! I always looked at marriage with suspicion. I guess if I was living in France, with a French guy, I would probably not be there planning my first fitting... I do not need legal bounds to feel and be committed to a long-term relationship. Anyway, for me marriage is a must if I want to stay in the States with my sweetheart. My visa can only be renewed once, for 2 years, and then nothing - it's on my company and therefore, is not convertible in a green card even if my company would sponsor me. For my FI it's in his values - he wants to be married, start a family ; for him marriage means something more than just being together, he wants to take the vows, really. So I guess that's two good reasons. The other thing is, if you're in a common law marriage no chance to make a pre-nup... the lawyer in me that speaks . In France they have this concept now - the PACS - it's like a marriage but without being one, meaning that anybody can get pacsed, including gay couples or just roommates !! It organizes the common life but you don't have to go through divorce when you split up... I understand it when you're not a straight couple, but if you are, I always thought it was strange going through PACS, it's like : let's do something together, but keep the door opened, just in case. I think I would just live with my guy - or get married. But it's an interesting tool !

I am. It's not really different... they just put the accent on "filling foods", that I naturally eat anyway so for me it did not change anything. Oh, they got rid of the "core plan" though. You can only be on flex now (I think). Still working. I lost 22 lbs so far. I started Sept 1st and since one month I've done nothing but eating : trip to France - 10 days -, trip to mexico - tasting the wedding menus-, Christmas with FIL, Christmas lunch, my birthday, the home-made cookies from the office colleagues... still lost 4 lbs in the last month ! It's really fantastic.
