Ayita replied to Kristy621's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Landa bridesmaids have some very cool-beach-looking dresses (they also have the traditional ones but look closer ) -

I had to take a lower one though because my dress is backless.... Go to a department store to look at them and even try !

Hi Jen ! I'm also from Houston ! Welcome and happy planning

I stumbled upon this site yesterday : Promotional Tote Bags | Custom Tote Bags | Wholesale Tote Bags They are wholesellers so the minimum quantities are usually 40 or 50 bags (or more depending on the model), and the price decreases per quantity (if some girls agree on the model they want and want to bundle...). They can also personalize your bags with your "logo" ! They have a lot of different models. You have to look as the lowest prices obviously have the largest minimum quantities required... For instance with a minimum order of 50 you can get : Trade Show Tote Bag Medium Weight Budget Tote Easy Breeze Tote Box Gusset Tote More expensive but so cute : Canvas Zipper Tote Bag With a minimum order of 100 you cant this one or 4.94$ : Dynasty Convention Tote I understand the price includes your logo already printed on it (although I have to confirm, I could not talk with them yet). Anybody used them before ? What do you think ?

Invitations Question? Advise needed...

Since it is a destination wedding most won't be able to make it. So far though a LOT of people are saying they want to come. Our unit is small enough where if someone wasn't invited EVERYONE would know. I'm not sure how to go about this. I am thinking of inviting everyone, but is this a waste of invitations? Should I only invite people expressing interest? Also, there are a few peopl I barely know do I invite them? Thanks... Darcy The only question in my opinion is do you want to invite them ? You should only invite people you will be pleased to see on your day. Or for a longer period as it will be vacation for everybody. I remember not having been invited to the wedding to a colleague I was relatively close to (having lunches with etc), whereas she had invited other colleagues of ours, but I did not resent it as I understand a wedding is personnal - private - intimate - not professional. I felt a little bit sad yeah, at first, but then I just forgot about it. I would hate to see on my wedding day people I don't want to see... It's true that some people are pushy about it. At first when I said I was getting married and where, one of my team members said "I'll be there". And it's a guy I really don't appreciate personnally. I have to work with him but we're professionals - so I take it. But no need to see him on my wedding day ! I think it's just the rule you should apply. Do you want to have them with you on that day. Good luck ! -
These are definitely early planners ! It's really cute - and scary at the same time, their parents must have been so wooried ! German children elope - New Zealand's source for World News on Stuff.co.nz Police foil wedding plans of boy, 6, and his sweetheart, 7 - World - smh.com.au anna lena, anna bell - Google News Where the idea came from is apparently not clear - a trip to Italy, or a TV documentary on Keyna ?

bought my dress, but...
Ayita replied to JayBee's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
The salon I went to also does not have a seamstress... but they recommended one and said she was doing wonders. I picked up this dress first because it was the one I preferred, but also because the comfort of the salon was excellent, the sales person would take pics of the dress herself (back front details everything), and she was not trying to sell the most expensive. She had good advise and she was very helpful and friendly. I was never left alone with the dress hanging on my back with no help for 5 or 10 minutes like it happened in other places. Well, the service really made me pick the dress there and nowhere else. They are so professional, I don't think they would recommend a seamstress that would not be the same way. -
The Exclusion Speech--from your parents
Ayita replied to mimosa123's topic in Destination Weddings in Dominican Republic
Sometimes parents have their own idea of how your wedding should or should not be... You can try and convince her but - I know that if it was my mom there would be no way I would succeed. I stopped trying a long time ago on a lot of subjects (happily she's not against the destination wedding). When we disagree I just respectfully explain to her that this is MY way of doing things, MY way of thinking, MY taste, MY body , and that she might have different views but that they are hers - not mine. Even more here, it's YOUR day, you decided of the DW with your FI and this is the only thing that should be important. That you're happy and have the day of your dreams. Try to go that way... and good luck with the convincing -

errr... what is a dryer sheet -
Hello and welcome ! there are a couple of wedding planners that can organize this for you in Playa del carmen. Ajua weddings for instance : Ajua Weddings - Hindu Weddings, Episcopol, Anglican Weddings, Playa del Carmen, Riviera Maya, Mexico
-
You could register at Honeyfund.com : it's really cash going on your bank account, and you can add to the registry stuff for your wedding, too. Actually, in the little demo they show, you start by selecting the wedding stuff not yet paid for (I think). The only fee is the paypal fee (3.5%). Otherwise I'm using travelers joy, and basically it's the same : you write what you want, you put the pics you want, so if you want flowers or liquor for your party just add it there with a pic and that's it. It can really be anything as the fields are blank, and you can upload your own pics or pics you just googled. It's a bit more expensive (7.5%).

Same for us - we just change resorts and stay for the second week in a super nice hotel where even the lowest room category is an amazing suite lost in the jungle it's not all inclusive - booked 3 months in advance there is 30% discount and it's 3,500 for 7 nights. We hope a good portion of the rest of the expenses will be covered by the registry

Do you HAVE to register?
Ayita replied to BeautifulBridetoBe's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
You don't have to, but typically people will make you gifts - that you don't want or don't like - if you don't.... We are in the same case, we already have everything (we've lived on our own since 15 years for me, 10 years for him)... so we opted for the honeymoon registry. We are using Traveler's joy, it's super easy, super good looking, and you can type in anything (you can even add those 6 items you liked in that store... and put the picture you want). So we put stuff like drinks, car rental, jet skiing, massage for two, cigars, artwork from honeymoon location... and... actually the TTD session is in there. We thought that would be a great gift for our guests to give us ! There are stuff at any price and for all tastes. We did not want to register, but this stuff is really cool. We are thinking of taking pics of each gift we're "taking" to send with the thank you cards.
