  1. I walked past it when I was in Xcalacoco in December. It's just next to the Princess when you go toward Cancun walking on the Beach. It was still in construction, but it was getting close to the finish line. First thing you have to know, it's HUGE ! It took us like 10 minutes to walk from on end to the other. We were joking about people that would get a room on one end of the resort, and would have to go the other end for whatever reason. Like, shoot ! I forgot my jacket in the beachfront restaurant ! and there you go for 10 min When we were there there were some big sandbags (or ??) in the water, I think they are trying to build up a beach with sand in the water because the whole are is pretty rocky. It's made of big buildings that are 3 stories high. Each appartment is built in such a way that they have a terrace facing the sea with open air - like, the terrace above you would be farther away, in the back, you can actually see it in the pics on their website. Other than this, I don't know ! One thing, it's more 10-15 min away from Playa del Carmen than the announced 5 min on their site. It's still close, though.
  2. Oh - My - God - I love your dress !!!! I also have a backless dress, I'm doing an elbow length veil, only one layer so that you can still see the back details...

  4. I *know* I'm going to have a good time every time I see a new planning journal thread ! I love these ! It's such a pleasure to see all that the girls have put together, the months of efforts, research, planning, advance thinking, thoughful gestures, DIY, not only for the ideas - but you can feel the excitement of the nearby celebration, and party, that took so much energy to plan ! I always end up a bit emotional after these. And oh I jump on all the ones that carry pics of dresses - brides, bridesmaids, flowergirls... can't get enough dresses to see So what are your favourite threads ?
  5. I confess... that I'm here on the forum instead of working on this nasty stuff that makes me stay in the office until late hours since a week ! OK a little 5 min pause OK ?
  6. I prefer the first one ! I also like the 4th one in the "not", lol ! And I did try on your "not" number 2, it was in my favourites (and it was my mom's favourite).
  7. I know ! I'm getting all excited !!
  8. Another option, if you have a lot of invites : you can design some labels on word, and use mail merge to create all your labels. If you have never used this function, don't freak out it's very easy. If you have your list of people on excel or word, you need to separate their name, first line of address, second line, city+zip in different columns (I had to domore because I have European guests, but word even deals with the address format so you see - I just had to separate city and zip). Then you can design labels with a background that is not white - can be any color, the colors of your wedding... can be pics or drawing, or just a background in color... it will print out on white labels that will not be white any longer ! You can even create black labels ! I did this for our labels - they are with bamboo trees in the background, so they are all tropical forest green. It worked very well. I can post templates when I'm back home (I've been in the office all wek-end ! Books closing period )
  9. yeah I got these too, but only when I try to get to the forum welcome page. Once I'm in there it's OK. The page says the admin are aware of it so i did not look any further...
  10. Congrats Jen ! That's a fantastic news ! Did you see a doc, will you be able to travel in May ? It will be past the first 12 weeks right ?

  12. WElcome ! That's so great ! I hope I will doing this one day - planning a wow renewal for my 35th anniversary
  13. Today, for the first time I got to -25 lb ! I say for the first time cause usually my weight fluctuates quite a bit and I'm sure I'm gonna go back up and then down again. But it was so cool to see the number of the scale !! I had a super long plateau in Dec, I feel I'm back on again ! Yeah ! 15 more to go ! I did more than 60 % ! I'm so excited ! I was so happy I went to the gym and run an hour to celebrate Take that, you fat !
  14. I'm also spending my honeymoon there We visited it during our site visit... gorgeous... it feels like you're lost in the jungle when you're really 10 minutes away from Playa... We're going for the "standard" (not so standard) villa though, not the royal ! It's gonna be AWE-SOME !
  15. It's great that you have so much time ! I started beginning of November for a wedding beginning of May... only 6 months... but I had only 7 months to plan the whole thing so I guess it was early in my planning !
  16. Your guests will be there but they will also beon vacation... do you think that they will want to spend all their time with you, or, as you, will want to have some time by themselves ? Probably both... what you could also do, is plan a week with them, and then secretly plan another week on site, that will be just for the two of you... we're doing this ! On the Tuesday after our wedding we're just off to another, even more secluded, hotel... so first week with family and friends (that I don't see often given that they are all over the world), second week with my new husband...
  17. I'm getting some manicure, pedicure and hair styling for all the girls in our party (my BMs and FI's Best Woman)... I'm wondering if I should tell them beforehand, so that they don't incur the expense (of getting the mani and pedi), or if I just put a gift certificate in their welcome bags... what do you think ?
  18. I would go for burnt orange, purple (and/or dark pink), marroon/dark red...
  19. It's weird how posts get doubles in this thread ? Anyway Atlanta is no more Nightmare than any other big airport. I'ts big but actually easy. If you have to change concourses, there's an automated train between concourses. Really, pretty easy. If you want you can try to familiarize yourself with the airport already... Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport | the official website of ATL Airport That might help you visualize your connection.
  20. have you googled it ? There are actually a lot of garment bags you can find on the net. For instance : Breathable GARMENT BAG WEDDING GOWN VESTMENTS (10$) Bridal bags white or clear Garment Bags<br> fits wedding dresses and formal gowns (5$) Amazon.com: New Wedding Bridal Dress Pink Breathable BridalPetticoat Garment Bag (600GBP): Everything Else (19$) or Amazon.com: New White Wedding Bridal Dress Vinyl Garment Bag (600GBW): Apparel (14$) If you did not get your dress yet, mind you that the bridal shop may give it to you in a bag (they gave me mine in a bag, it's at home under the nose of FI !)
  21. If you're using the same airline from Pittsburgh to your final destination, you don't have to get your luggage. It's registered until the end and you just have to deplane and re-board. sometimes the luggage doesn't make it but it's usually there the next day. Take your dress and FI's attire with you as a carry-on
