Ayita replied to estella1007's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I would go for the first one - it wins because it's short... -

OMG ! 2 months and 5 days ! I have not done anything wedding related in weeks ! Other than my legal wedding of course I need to contact my WC ! Did not hear from her since weeks ! I had a dream yesterday night, I was in a huge "wedding wonderland" of some sort, with a lot of chapels, beaches, gardens, etc. where you could just come and get married. I dreamt that, on the phone, I was told you could just show up, no resa needed. I wanted to use a specific chapel, and when I got there, I realized people were putting their name on a list ! When I asked if they were free the Saturday at 5pm, they said they had no spot until the Sunday 6 pm ! But, I said, everybody will be gone !!! I have people coming from France, from Singapore, from Switzerland, from UK, from the US, you have to do something ! and they were telling me that this huge, ugly church super-far-away was free, but I did not know how to get everybody there... ... and then I woke up It's a sign. I need to get back on it ! remaining : - pick the cake flavors (we're doing a cup-cake tower) - FI outfit - I picked up one "default" suit, buut FI wants "somthing unique". I told him he had until April 15, and if he had nothing he would get the "default suit" LOL. Still hesitating between those two for the "default" :Zoot Suit Store: Stacy Adams and Zoot Suit Store: Stacy Adams FI is a 42L, it makes it hard to find something that we both like AND is in his size. - GM outfits - ring bearer outfit - ring pillow (I think I'm doing a mini-sombrero) - programs - OOT bags (I have some ideas but nothing done AT ALL) - ceremony and vows - sitting chart (no exact sitting but I want to do tables at least) - music (for everything, we have no DJ) - this is FI's work really - rent everything for the wedding (need the exact number of guests... I have 29 positive RSVPs but only 15 bookings...) - dress fitting - the seamstress told me I could come 2 weeks before leaving that she could get everything done in 2 weeks ! perfect for my weight-loss situation - TTD dress fitting. Well, same ! I received it (a Davids Bridal sale at $99.99) and it's awesome ! - ordered but not received : sand-frame and sand for sand ceremony. Flowergirl dress. That's a big list (( I'm freaking out !

I called Vista Print, and they said I needed to flatten the layers before converting the file. I've spent all evening trying to figure this out, and I'm stumped! What did you do to make this work. I just have this one final step to go through... please help. I must say that I have no idea. Mine came out well and I did not even order a proof. i don't know what "flatten the layers" mean, this is photoshop language not powerpoint... in photoshop when you're finished working with your layers you have to save the final pic as a .jpg, this flattens it all. In Powerpoint, this concept does not exist. Does the white stuff appear in the pdf file ? If not, it should not appear at printing. If it does appear on the pdf, you might have to select these elements in your ppt file, and send them to the back so that they become hidden. Other than that, no idea. Did you tell vistaprint you were working with ppt not photoshop ?

TTD wear wedding dress? Or sun dress?
Ayita replied to JoLo908's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I really wanted to do it with a wedding dress. At first I wanted to use my wedding dress, but it's all silk and I'm afraid it would get damaged. I want to donate it to Brides against cancer so I want it to be still in a great shape when I send it in. I just found my TTD dress, a sale from David's Bridal at 99$... So it solves it for me. Now, specially for beach weddings, you have wedding dress and wedding dress... exactly as you also have different types of sundresses. I'm sure you can find a sun dress, or a BM dress, that has a bridal look to it, or at least, a look close to what your bridal look is. -
FIL is 82 and MIl is 74... they both come. We chose the closest destination we could, only 2.5 hours flight. The hotel has low mobility facilities (elevator from room to beach / restaurant level).

How did you pay for your wedding?
Ayita replied to nikkib's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
I pay for things as they come. I had to use two of my revolver credit lines, but I should get my bonus next month and this will allow me to settle the revolvers and pay for the final bills, all due in May. Honeymoon was fully paid in advance in order to get the 30% discount they offered. -
Kristina's Club Med Cancun Review 11-1-08
Ayita replied to kristina&kevin's topic in Destination Wedding Reviews

Need help uploading files
Ayita posted a topic in Bugs, issues or "how to" navigate forum questions.
Hi, For some reason, I do not manage to upload my ppt templates into my posts. I have three ppt templates, the biggest one is 5.91 MB so way under the limits. I have tried to zip them, they will also not upload once zipped, the biggest one is 4.71 MB so also under the limits. I have tried from home and from the office. Nothing helps. I had absolutely no issue uploading my word and pdf files. Any suggestion ? Thanks Ayita -
I feel like my Wedding Day is being sabotaged!!
Ayita replied to Cindy&London's topic in Just venting or funnies
Wow, no matter how close this person would be to me (or precisely the closest the more honest I would be), I would just reply publicly "if you think the place is boring I do not even understand why you bother coming... as it's probably going to be a boring wedding"... I would just clash ! That way the roles would be reversed and SHE would be the one having a bad time over it, not YOU ! WTF. Don't let people eat you. You have enough on your plate with the planning. -
What is your Mom wearing?
Ayita replied to imapepper's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
It's funny I have actually no idea of what's my mom is wearing or even planning to wear... it's her problem and also... her taste so I won't even interfere !!! Are you all taking care of your mom -

I ended up not taking this one because I felt too covered on the chest, however it's true that the corset has the best shape of them all.

My invites are finally ready to go ! I'm taking the bulk of them with me to France tomorrow, mailing them from there will be quicker and less expensive ! The other half will ship from Houston... Yeah ! Remaining to be done : - puchase material for sand ceremony - write vows and translate ceremony to French - FI's attire - best woman attire - groomsmen attire - OOT bags - FI wants "something unique". Great... that's gonna be simple ! - finalize details with WC Otherwise everything is pretty much done ! Looking good !

I don't know what street size I am, but if it can help, when I tried these on I was 38.5 / 31 / 43.5. I'm 5"4 All the dresses you see are size 12. In general too tight, except the David's one... but that gives an idea. First the one I ended up getting (one size bigger) : Then the one with which I really had a hard time deciding... it took a lot of videos and friends to help me : The one my mom preferred : front back : The other mermaids :

Here are the templates... originally they are office 07 but I had to save them to earlier formats as the forum would not accept the older ! So I don't know if all the features will remain. The return labels font are WMTrees and Tempus sans ITC. For some reason the ppt files will not upload. don't know what to do about this ! They are the right size and the right format though ? Sorry girls Edit : I tried several times but nope ! Maybe I can mail them to somebody that does not have upload issues ? Labels word 97-03.doc Wedding guests list for mail merge.xls return labels.doc Invitations english ppt 93-03.pdf

For the envelopes : -Two packs of ivory envelopes from Hobby Lobby – 5$ each -OfficeMax full sheet labels for the stickers -Square punch from Michaels 11$ I used the left-out from the shiny green paper of the inside of the pockets to cut out more palm trees to stick next to the mailing labels. For the mailing labels : -Mailing labels from Walmart 4$ - they are the Avery 18163 I made my own template on word, and used the mail merge function to create the labels. The attached template will work with the above templates (you get 10 labels per sheet). However, if you want to modify it it’s easy : in word 07, in "mailings", click on "start mail merge", then "new label" ; you can then enter your own dimensions. Word will erase the prior template (including the pics) to replace them with your new dimensions, so make sure you save the pics somewhere before proceeding. For the pics, you have to make a special formatting. Right click on them, select "text wrapping" and then "behind text". In word 2003 I think this is in "format", "position" or something like that. Once you have done that, go to the tab "picture position" and make sure the position is absolute compared to the page, rather than text or cell or anything else. In word 2003 I think you need to click "advanced" in "position" tab but not sure. You have to be patient and print several times on a sheet of paper to make sure the labels fit your template. I also include the format for the guests that I used in this mail merge. For the Return labels : -Return labels from Walmart 4$. It's avery 18195. I used WM tree font for the little trees. Same as above, if you need to reformat… For the pre-wedding brochure : thanks Morgan !!! I prepared my template on powerpoint using Morgan's template ; then did my own stuff with my own pics for the background ; saved as pdf and sent to Vistaprint. I used the following fonts (system or dafont) : papyrus ; stylin' BRK (in the monogram) ; Blackjack ; JI chimichanga ; Cartoon ; HGMinchol. My only regret in all this is that we changed the time for the ceremony all way through, and the times on the brochure and the invites do not match… actually, the invites themselves do not match, as I put a "boarding time" that is the old time, whereas the "itinerary" has the right ones in them…I guess nobody will actually notice !

First I want to thank all the brides from who I stole ideas ! Morgan for the brochure, MarieSam for the stickers and the jacket template, I don't remember who for the jungle theme… I ended up making my own templates so time for me to return the favor, they are attached in this thread ! It was a very fun project to do ! I did the design and Fi and I did the realization – printing, trimming, perforating, tying and sticking… All the templates are attached at the end. Here is our little craft station : For the jackets : -Card stock from Hobby Lobby, all the paper was 50% off – 0.39 a sheet becoming 0.19 -Shiny paper from Hobby Lobby – 0.59 a sheet becoming 0.25 -Plam tree puncher from Michaels – I think 11$ -Glue dispensers – 3 of them – 5$ each -We printed them in black and white at Kinko's because the card stock was too thick for our printer. However, when you bring your own paper and it's black and white, it's only like 15 or 20 ct a sheet. So cheap -I used the following fonts that I got from dafont or font101 : traveling typewriter ; Stylin' BRK ; Urban Sketch ; BlackJack. For the invites : I spent quite some time on photoshop preparing the perfect tropical leaves ! We used : -Cardstock from Michaels (3 packs at 5$ each) and then from Walmart for the remaining, as we did not have enough with the ones from Michaels. The ones from Micahels have a nice pattern on them, the ones from Walmart were just plain but it still came out nice -A combo trimmer / rotary trimmer from Costco 26$ -Corner punch from Michaels 5$ -I got the following fonts from dafont or font101 : traveling typewriter ; Stylin' BRK ; Urban Sketch ; BlackJack ; Code128. I think the following were already in the system : Bradley Hand ITC ; Kaiti ; Trajan Pro ; HGS Minchol ; Calibri ; Papyrus. I attach pdf of how they look like once finished. -We ended up printing these at home, on our HP printer, it worked very well. -Note that I had to save them to a pdf format first, because otherwise the transparent boxes would print plain instead of transparent. I printed the first page 3 times for each second page, because of the way my template is. It worked fine.
