We have received our GM gifts and we are so happy with them !! We ordered some customized cigars humidors from agiftpersonalized.com : Personalized Cigar Humidor They are so awesome ! First, they are much bigger than what we thought. Second, their quality is really great. The wood smells so good, the picture on the top is really well done, and they have felt underneath. And they were not too expensive compared to other similar sites ! Here are some pics :

I also only have 30 guests. I was actually thinking of the contrary : not doing place cards, just a list of who sits at which table. We have only 4 tables. I was thinking of letting people decide... not letting them completely in the dark as to the table (otherwise it's going to be a mess), but not tell them where to sit... After much debate, we are going to use pics of us as kids for our tables. Not sure yet whether they are going to be organized by age (6 months old, 2 years old...) or by theme (artists... vacationing... doing sports), but this is the idea.

Our tickets are only 500$ total... compared to 340$ economy, we have 2 suitcases of 70 lb + 20lb on the first ones times 2 travellers = 320lb of free luggage allowance more... that was worth it. Of course I won't need that on the way back, at least 2 suitcases will be empty... Quote: Originally Posted by jax_the_beach_bride Wowaweewa!!!! Are u taking photogs getting the one at the resort or relyi g on guest pics? Fi my mom and dad think we should just get people to take pics of the wedding but I feel like it would be a let down for me! What do u ladies think? My resort doesn't have a photog so I hired Claudia Rodrgiguez (so excited !). She will be there for 3 hours, covering the ceremony, the pics after the ceremony and the cocktail (that starts just after the ceremony). I also have a lot of friends that love to take pics and come with their digital cameras, and I will have disposable cameras on the cocktail tables, on the dinner tables and on the bar with a scavenger hunt... We're covered However I absolutely wanted pro pics of the ceremony.

Well that's it ! I have officially packed my first suitcase today ! The suitcase with all the OOT bag stuff, the candles and the disposable cameras is ready ! I also packed another half with the kids clothes (not only the wedding attire - I'm a good auntie with lots of gifts for her nephew and niece that I don't get to see often), and my little beach dresses and reception dresses. I'm so glad I booked a ticket First to go, and economy to return. In Business first you get 3 free checked bags each, and each can weight up to 70 lb !! Compared to the 1 free, second paying of economy, and limit weight 50 lb... I know people to whom to give the free suitcases when they get back

Tip to those using ipods for reception music

All right, so I'm looking for a cool club to end the night right !! Of course the first that comes in mind is the Blue Parrot, but I've read horrible reviews on trip advisor... knowing tripadvisor... I'd rather ask you girls, for those who know Playa, did you go there ? What did you think ? I also heard about the Bali - they have private areas that can be reserved an open bar for 35$ which I think is cool - but I would have preferred something on the beach... same question, do you know it, what do you think ? Any advise is welcome ! I'm looking preferrably to a place where I can reserve an area - or several tables - and if possible on the beach... Thanks for your help !

What I would and wouldn't do again...
Ayita replied to gkashmira's topic in General Wedding Planning Information
My wedding is not done yet, but I can already tell you ONE thing that I would not do again : NOT sign a contract when we negotiated everything and just sign a commitment letter ; now they are changing everything that we discussed. What an opportune forgetting faculty !!!!!!!!!!!! -
I just made my appointment with the hairdresser ! Cut, color... Same day than my last fitting ! after that day I'll be ready to go !

We did not have an appointment and went between the levels of the CourtHouse until we found one available. That was so funny, on the 8th floor, somebody told us " go see Judge xx on the 15th floor, he never has anything to do". Jaja ! Still laughing about it. I think we actually woke him up from his nap, he asked DH if he wanted to take me "for his husband".

My cake topper from Magicmud.com ! (with pics)
Ayita replied to Ayita's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
FI was worried I would look like - I'm leaving you, but now that i see it I think it looks all the contrary ! Like, I came from France with my suitcase to get hitched in the US, or that I just arrived from some place and staying for good, or that I'm ready to jump on that motorcycle and go places ! I'm really happy !! -
Congrats Yael !! Yeah ! How was it ? Did you cry ?

registering taking convincing

Any ideas on convincing him? I swear I have tried everything, so has my mom and my brother and his Fiancee. Errrr.... where exactly is he from ? I'm from France and registries are tradition ! This is actually the first thing people ask you when you tell them you're getting married : "where are you registered" ! What is he into ? For instance, my FI is really into electronics and motorcycle (Or boobs, yeah well no registry for that ). Sounds like a guy to me, lol. Anyway, if I told him, let's go make a registry at Best Buy or Cycle Gear, he would love me FOREVER. Another option you have is honeymoon registry !! Some of them are really cool to customize. This is what we went for (we also already live together, and have been living without our parents since 15 years for me, 10 for him, so we really have everything). -
Food Diary, Workouts, Why Isn't This Working?
Ayita replied to tylersgirl's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
The problem is probably that you are either eating not enough, or to the contrary, too much of things you think are OK. The best way to go (for me) is Weight watchers. You don't like meetings, just do it online : the food diary will be online, and because you HAVE TO eat your points, you make sure you eat enough ! Also, you can get surprised - like have you any idea how terrible a jumbo smoothie is even if it's only fruits and low fat sorbet ? You would Well, WW helps you to eat RIGHT ! And if this is the problem you have... you should melt. I lost 20 pounds in the first 3 months, then only 5 because I got lazy and stopped writing ddown my food. I t really works. You'll also learn a lot in dietetics... Don't forget to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day ! -
idea for flowergirl gift
Ayita replied to Gail's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
My 6 year old niece, who is also my godchild, will be our flower girl. I have gotten her her first digital camera. It's a 7.1 mega pixel that I got for 50$ only at Fry's. -
FI said exactly the same, exactly ! at first i liked it but then, I found myself a bit too alone on this (my party and family all living abroad) so I started to ask him questions about stuff. It actually appears that he cared much more thhan what he said ! For instance, he loathes tiffany chairs. He does not want ribbons on the chairs. He wanted a cake (I remember that conversation : me : so, no cake. him : What me : nobody eats it. Him : I eat it !). He loved to pick the menu and to cut the DIY stuff ! He even asked for more (I quote "hey, what don't you continue to work on the templates and I'll do the cutting"). I also put him in charge of music, he loved that, and negotiation matters, which turns out pretty useful this week (big issues I have... I hope it gets resolved, so I won't talk about it just to try and stay positive on this). So, if you want him to be involved, start small - what angel1416 is super true. For instance, my bouquet : I came with white callas and orange calla and asked him : which ones do you prefer ? The font on the invite : printed 3 possibilities and I had him pick one ! The food : narrowed down to three menus and we looked at these together ! The GM attires : took him to ONE store and have him pick between the options available there. etc. At the end of the day, in spite of his saying "do what you want", the only thing I really did pick by myself is 1. the colors, and 2. my dress. But even this... I already knew he HATES strapless and pouffy...

If I lose 20 lbs...
Ayita replied to lgarner83's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
I have lost 25 pounds in the last few months. I have ordered my dress at the size i was when I ordered it. I did not want to take the chance !! Turns out, I only lost 10 pounds since I ordered it, not so much - but also no pressure on me to lose more ! Your dress looks simple to take in : it will have to be done from the sides. that should really not be an issue, 20 pounds is very reasonnable amount of weight loss for a dress. wait until the last minute to have your alterations done ! My dress is with the seamstress right now, I only get it back in 10 days, and I'm leaving in only 3 weeks... -
Welcome Danielle, thanks for helping ! i read your trip advisor review- are you living in Japan ??
