  1. OMG Krzyk those pictures are so helpful, thank you!!!!!
  2. Great Question Dana, I would also love to know the answer from some past brides.
  3. OH no that is terrible, you could spread the word to your parents and in a few days you could each call a few people.. "to make sure it arrived safely" .

  5. We were originally going to do it before we left and fly to chicago so my grandparents could attend since they are too fragile to make it to Mex, but then my mom( who has been a PITA the entire time) wants to have a AHR for her friends only back in Chicago, so we decieded to make only one trip and do it after.
  6. Yay!! I am proud to share my first DIY/Crafting project. I am a complete novice so even though they are not boarding passes or some of the beautiful creations that I have seen from our other members (who are much more talented than myself), I am totally proud of myself and have started off small and will work my way up. I think they are a cute little package and have all the needed info. I was considering a post card but decided that this would be the first impression of the wedding and most people would be booking trips well before receiving an invites so I put a little extra effort and $$ into the STD’s. I made 100 of them: Paper: $33.00 Envelopes: $14.00 Paper Fasteners: $3.00 Raffia: $3.00 (but have tons extra) Printing and cutting: $49.00 Return Address Labels: Free at Vista Print Clear Mailing labels: About $4.00 worth of a big pack Postage: $0.42 Total for each with postage: $1.48
  7. Ha ha ha.. that is great about "ordering invites after all"!!! I am acutally laughing out loud! I think my fiance will be singing the same tune. So the dress shopping: I went to David's in park meadows and aurora. (much better experience at the aurora one 225 and Alameda, ask for Sarah, she knows her stuff). I also had a very nice expericen at D'Aneli's in Lakewood (alameda and wadsworth) Anjelle was my consultant and she has been doing it 9 years and had a good eye for it. I FOUND THE DRESS at Bea's Bridal Nook in Cherry Creek (6th Ave and Detroit) Emmi helped me there a few times and when the dress in the first pic came she called me and low and it was amazing. I have also heard amazing things about Bea's in house alterations. I also went to Bridal Connections - kind of dirty /no help/ not so fond of it. I did go to chicago twice to look at dresses so that is where i did the other half of my shopping. Let me know how your experience goes. BTW, where is Azul Fives?
  8. Thanks Ladies! Jess- I feel your pain that will be me tonight! LET THE CRAFTING BEGIN!! Lol!
  9. Ok and here is the old dress I was SOOOO CLOSE to buying: ** yay now I kn whow to do pics***
  10. Ok here is me in the dress: (this is my first time posting a pic, so please forgive me if it is not good or huge. Also it is a phone pic so not too clear. ) Oh yay, I previewed and I think I did it right.
  11. Oh Jess, I am so happy that you guys picked your spot!!! So I know I mentioned that I found my dress on an earlier post in this thread, but I went to one more place this weekend and REALLY found my dress. My BM started crying and I even had a tear in my eye. I always thought that that was tv stuff until it actually happened. I am guess there was a reason I was procrastinating on the old dress. I am so excited. I also booked flights, photog and DJ Ricardo last week. Tomorrow my STD's will be done at the printer (I desinged, they printed and cut) and DIY crafting will begin. I am nervous and excited for my first DIY project. I think I might use the same printer to help with invites. I had ordered like 45 samples and nothing was the right invite. I think I would just rather have something unique and semi DIY. Will post pics if I can.
  12. Anyone have good recommendations for "supportive" tops for big DD boobies? I would love to find some different tops to mix up my straps to prevent lines, because I think there is no way in hell I can wear a strapless.
  13. This is so cute!!!! I plan on stealing it... if that is OK with you
  14. I am not sure if this helps, but for my November 2009 wedding, we have been looking at the following airfare; I was able to get flights alone from Denver to cabo for $360.00 (all w/ tax) my dad got his for $370 from Detroit to Cabo. My sister has not bought because the flights have not dropped below $490 from Chicago. I know some girls have arranged packages with air and hotel when they have most people leaving from one airport. FI and I have family from Hawaii to NYC so it was not working for us to do that. We did use Tammy (host of this forum) to do our room block, she negotiated us a better rate than what i have seen online so far. And we got a bunch of perks that she negotiated in. You may want to PM her to see if she can give you estiamted room rates for your time of year of your wedding.
  15. I used tammy(host) with Wright Travel, she is Cali and I am in Colorado. All of my guests have not minded at all using her sevices via email. Plus I have a couple guest all over the US and they would have had to coordinate travel via email anyways. Also tammy was able to negotiate some amazing perks for Evan and I into our room block.
  16. Yay DJ Mijares!! That is great news. You have only had RAVE reviews on this forum. I never personally saw a bad word about you. I am glad that more brides can enjoy your services at Dreams.
  17. Really, my dreams wedding coordinator said something along the same lines. The story went like this.....When my WC told me the price of thier DJ I nearly fell out of chair at work. I emailed her back with some of the prices I saw on the forum and she said that they highly recoomended DJ Ricardo (booked him) and she did not recommend the other 2 (DJ Mirajes and DJ Funcle Ron). She said that is was a far too important part of the wedding to take any chances. So basically steering me away from him. At first I was a little annyed but then I realized that she works on god knows how many weddings per year, per month, etc. and she is only looking for me to have the best experience possible, and would not lead me in a bad direction. And you do need a good DJ with good equipment. Someone who can feel out the crowd and make sure the party gets started. My step mom reminded me of a wedding recently that she went to where they had a bad DJ, scratchy sounding speakers, and he was just awkward and hardly anyone was dancing and many guests left right after cake. So I sucked it up and busted my budget to not have to worry about it. Okay that was a little bit of a rant Sorry
