  1. My DH and I had so much fun trying all the foods my BDW friends had recommended to me before we left, that I thought it would be so fun to start a thread with all our favorite dishes at dreams, like how Ana told me about the tortilla soup and I ordered almost every day and Tammy about the mahi mahi poolside. So here is mine: Hitmatsu: fave-tempura anything Oceana-this is hard all of the dishes were good, never a complaint fave-mahi mahi with mushrooms, shrimp tortilla soup, surf and turf part 2 (prosciutto wrapped scallop)- trick they will add this to other entrees if you ask. Portofino- fave- tuna steak with ginger sauce Seaside grille-dinner fave- 10 oz rib eye and grilled provolone seaside grill lunch fave- fish fingers, ranchero sandwich, chicken nachos El Patio-love the omelets station and chilequilles Room Service: fave- tortilla soup, all the goodies are in one bowl and then the delish broth in a separate cauldron, so when it arrives you can mix them together yourself and nothing is soggy What's yours?
  2. The HM suite was great, loved the extra space for getting ready the day of -- esp for girls. One of our guests had the 2 bedroom corner suite, and it was ENORMOUS!!!! We pretty much partied there everynight after the club closed.
  3. I am back from the wedding! Tha being said, I completely agree with what Heather said above. The resort was all ours it felt like for the first 6 days, then a different group came in later, after all my guests had left and they had a lot more smokers which was not great, but I was glad my guests were gone. But there is no way you could predict that in advance. On to the food: ** these are all soley my and my husbands opinions, so take what you want from it and skip what you dont want****** I am pretty much a foodie. Although I love comfort foods too! There were amazing delish dishes that blew us away at every restaurant. Oceanna and Portifino's were amazing, seaside grill is a steakhouse at night and is extremely impressive for Meixcan meats. We tried the entire menu at Himatsu (asian) and it was ok. The salmon sushi was def previously frozen, so that did not do it for us since we are used to fresh. The tempura was good. The luches for foodies are by far the best at oceanna, the poolside menu is simple but delish! They call something fish fingers but it is really fresh mahi mahi fish and chips. Yumm I miss it already. Lesson, dont get put off by the names of the dishes since they are all fresh. I have to say that dreams had the best food I have ever had in Mexico in all my trips. And I cant wait to go back not just for the resort and ocean but acutally miss the food. PS, the avacado cutney on top of our crab cake app at the wedding was amazing. Fav dishes at each rest: Hitmatsu: fave-tempura anything skip-salmon sushi Oceanna-this is hard fave-mahi mahi with mush, shrimp tortilla soup, suft and turf part 2 skip- nothing all good Portifino- fave- tuna steak skip- fruitta de marr Seaside grille-dinner fave- 10 oz ribeye and grilled provalone skip- coconut shrimp seaside grill lunch fave- fish fingers skip-nothing all good El Patio-love the omlette station Room Service: fave- tortilla soup, all the goodies are in one bowl and then the delish broth in a seperate cauldren, so when it arrives you can mix them together yourself and nothing is soggy. skip- grilled cheese. bizzare and microwaved and not grilled what so ever.
  4. Thanks!! Ash- great pics, you looked so happy with everyone and had so much fun with your girls!
  5. Okay, since Ashly did it I am going to give you guys a lazy man sneak peak to my pics too: http://evananderika.shutterfly.com/ password: cabowedding
  6. I agree that DJ ricardo seems expensive but in the end well worth it to be in such good hands. Honestly I dont think he is cocky/sure of himself in emails but truly he is a grateful and hard worker. I think his emails only come off that way cause he is trying to type proper english and as well as showing that he is a professional and not just someone with a sound system.
  7. I loved DJ Ricardo!!!!! I had him as our DJ for the wedding on Nov 6th. He is extremely considerate of the brides needs. He didnt do anything that he was not sure of with out asking me. I had a list of maybe songs and he played all of them during dinner! It was perfect. He also had some assitants with him to run the microphone from person to person and he was a great MC. I even took pics with him!
  8. E pulled his mom out halfway thru our father daughter dance, cause he did not feel comfortable to do an entire song. I was totally fine with it!
  9. AHH < I just found this thread! I love it, I just started mine in blurb, and it is quite the adventure, I am totally inspiried by yours!! Love it!!
  10. Yay for 7 sleeps Jess!!! Ash- that is so stupid, I feel bad. But I am so happy that you powered thru and didnt let it ruin anything.
  11. I let my photog suggest the ceremony time since he was local, that way we had the best light for photos before during and after. We had our reception in the dark with strung lanterns and tons of candles it was super romantic and never felt too dark. The resort knows what they are doing to make sure there is enough lighting. There are mulitple ways you can google you location and get the sunset time.
  12. Yeah I had like 1 or 2 in the potty at the time but you cant tell , we had so many people you cant see them all anyways.
  13. I agree, the dress photographed great!!! The whole setting was fab!
  14. My guests love the whole DW, I was the first to do one so everyone was a little hesitant but everyone loved it! Top few: 1) it was the most beautiful ceremony I have ever been to _ Thank Rev Marco Arechiga (info on him in the cabo forum) 2) They LOVED the resort and want to go back 3) They loved the pashmina faovrs and used them the entire rest of the trip! 4) Lots of speeches, we did open mic at the welcome dinner, thankfully our guests kept it short a sweet but everyone enjoyed hearing about E and I in so many different ways.
  15. I gave my girls thier bag in advance before we left cause I had enought crap to lug to mexico. I tried to hand out the bags to people but it was so annoying, I dropped them off at the counter and had them delivered. way easier!
  16. We did it directly after the ceremony, it was pretty easy and we had 60 people!!
  17. We brought 4 bags checked and 4 carry ons between the 2 of us. I sorted the bagas and made a file of the reciept copies for each. they only thing they wanted to look at after x ray was the koozies and showed them the reciept folder she BARELY looked at it, opend and then closed and sent us on our way, No problems! We did have one bag that was over $200 but I just faked a receipt for the pashminas to make them less and it was never even questioned.
  18. Everything looks GREAT! So fun, I want to do it again!
  19. The average age during our stay was a bit older maybe later 40's, but we had so much fun that it was like we had the resort to ourselves since we had so many people and so much fun. We typically hung out all together till like 10 is with all the parents and thier friends and then went to desires or someones room.
