  2. My FI and I went shopping for the GM and himself for the wedding over the weekend, we found a perfect look, all linen!! We found it at Tristan. They had short sleeve and long sleeve linen shirts and linen shorts and pants. Right now the only colors there were black, white and chocolate brown but we were told they are going to get colors in like orange, pink, blue and green.
  3. I would agree that you should send out invitations to those who have said no, you never know, they could change their minds!
  4. Wow, this sounds good ti me too! Who couldn't lose a little cellulite! Soccergurl - where did you buy it from? how much was it? Do you have before and after pictures of yourself?
  5. Josie - I am in the same boat as you, we have invited 220 people and we know they won't all come but we think between 50 and 80 people will be there, I just wish they would hurry and reply so I can do the OOT bags. I am really excited to do them but like you I do not want to buy way to much stuff. I think i am going to do it at the end of August beginning of September, I think that will be enough time.
  6. Wow, that is very nice of your grandma! I just looked at the Elizabeth Medina site, she has beautiful photography. I think it would be worth a shot to see if she is avaliable, it will be something you are going to have forever so make sure you are getting what you want. I didn't think you could bring in photographers to the RPRM, I thought you had to use Carlos...
  7. That hotel looks amazing!! Good idea to go somewhere else for a little bit and get away, just the two of you. We decided to just stay at the RPRM because it was only $500 more for a week, I didn't think we would get that good of a deal anywhere else.
  8. For us we are doing it before we go to Mexico because then once we have or ceremony in Mexico we will really be married, then we have no more wedding stuff when we get home.
  9. Darcy - do you have pictures that you can post of the suit? Where did you get it? Is there a website?
  10. I love the pictures I see of DW, even if it's someone I don't even know!!! The pictures are so beautiful, honestly it doesn't get any better then pictures on a beach!
  11. Good Idea Josie, I think that the people who are not able to attend would love to watch over the internet! I am going to have to look into this, I'll let you know what I can find out. I think I am with you too Josie on the AHR, I don't want people to feel like we are having our stuff over and over again. We are going to get married just a couple days before, we discussed it last night and it seems like the best thing to do. We are going to keep it secret and not exchange rings or anything. Just the two of us. I am actually really excited about it, it's rare that we get to do things with just us, family always has their input.
  12. is waiting until the summer to long, I just don't want people feeling like I am draging out the wedding....
  13. That is a good idea for a BBQ, the only thing is when we get back it will be cold here. Do we ask someone to host a AHR in their home? Ours cannot fit very many people. Maybe just have drinks and snacks avaliable instead of dinner.
  14. Thanks for your thoughts ladies! I think we will get married here before we go and just keep it a secret. I agree with you megashay that I don't want to make a big deal of it because to us the real wedding is in Mexico, the hard part is our families understanding that. If we have a AHR we have to have two, because my fiances family lives across the country, which complicates things and makes them a lot more expensive, having a AHR where we live and where they live. I do enjoy a good party though so who knows what I'll do...
  15. I just checked trip advisor, thats awesome that it has moved up. This resort looks beautiful, it is going to be an amazing wedding location! I am torn about having a AHR, my family all lives in the same city as my fiance and I however most of his family lives accorss the county, that is one of the reasons we decided on doing the destination wedding so everyone had to spend money, not just his family. We met in Mexico so that is the #1 reason we are getting married there. I want to have an AHR for the people that couldn't come to Mexico but does that mean we have one where we live and one where my fiance's family lives? Then thats 3 parties...things could get expensive that way. I do like parties though, I am torn, any advice?
  16. For those ladies who are getting legally married before going to the resort, how far in advance are you having the ceremony? What are you going to wear? What about the guests, I don't want to make it a big deal but will people be offended if they were not invited to the actual ceremony? Is everyne planning a AHR? if you are, how long after the actual wedding until you have the AHR?
  17. Josie - I have told all my guests the same so I guess I just let it be and hopefully everything will go smoothly. For those ladies who are getting legally married before going to the RIU, how far in advance are you having the ceremony? What are you going to wear? What about the guests, I don't want to make it a big deal but will people be offended if they were not invited to the actual ceremony? Is everyne planning a AHR? if you are, how long after the actual wedding until you have the AHR? sorry, I've got lots of questions...
  18. Thanks tylersgirl, I was thinking July is better too. That is an awesome idea to give the koozies and reminder card at the engagement party. Has anyone had the issue of guests not booking with the agent you decided to go with because they want to wait and see if they can get a better price? How have you dealt with it? or do you just leave it alone?
  19. Hi ladies, I am just wondering what everyone did for their actual invitations, how far ahead did you send them out? I am thinking I need to send my formal invitation out by June/July for my wedding in November (I already sent STD's in January) however I am not sure on wording or what exactly to put on the invitation because we know the ceremony time but not the reception time. Any input on this subject would be helpful. Thanks!
  20. Jaime...Your pictures are awesome and you look fabulous! Thanks so much, I love the dresses your bridesmaids wore, where did you get them? and the groomsmen attire?
  21. I am going to start the videos tomorrow, I am very excited!!! What is anyones opinion on Jillians diet plan for the 30 day shred, I want to do it along with the video however both my fiance and I did the test for our body types and we have different body types, this means we have to make 2 different meal plans...not very accomodating, anyone else have this problem??

  23. beach bride - your dress is amazing!!! I actually bougt my dress yesterday, I can't stop thinking about it so I figured I am done looking! I got the "Melinda" by Maggie Sottero. I absolutely love it!!
  24. I am having my wedding at the Riu Palace Riviera Maya, I was a little concerned at first about the space between the wedding and the reception but I have seen many people on this website talk about it and it seems to be fine. Most people just have cocktail and H'orderves in between. You will also have to go for pictures anyway so I'm sure that guests can entertain themselves too if you don't want to spens more money on the cocktail intermission.
  25. Thanks so much for your idea of Beautiful Brides store in Calgary saltocoach & Tracy_S, I am actually going to banff this weekend so I am going to go to Beautiful Bride on Monday, I am super excited now!!! Who was the designer for the dresses you ladies picked out? Beachbride, what store in Calgary did you find a Nicole Miller dress, I have been in love with her dresses for so long now!!! You can't find them here in Edmonton anywhere. What is the style number of your dress? I really need to get my dress by the end of this month!! I am a little stressed about finding the "right" one! As far as my as my STD's I have alreay sent them out in mid-January, I think i will send my actual invitations out in July, the only thing is if I haven't made all the arrangements with the hotel for cocktail hours and reception time, how do you put the information on the invitation? Should I just call the resort ahead of time instead of waiting till 2 or 3 months before for them to contact me? All you ladies are so helpful...thanks a bunch!
