RIU RM Palace Brides??
jetsbride replied to Jaime's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
MrsMarch - Wow, your wedding is coming up fast!! can't wait to hear all about it and see your pictures!! Are you all ready to go? As for the reciepts for all your OOT bag stuff, I made 1 reciept that included everything on it just on excel...I didn't want to be pulling out tons of receipts. I didn't make a spanish version of it either. We had no issues though, they did look through our stuff more but thats all. My sister brought my mugs for me and she had to pay $25, no biggie though. Also, if you are just having a symbolic ceremony at the RPRM and you are already married before you go (or getting married when you get back) you do not have to bring any kind of documents. If you have any other questions, ask away!! -

shellk - I am not too sure about the iron. We never used it but I am sure they are there. I never really trust hotel irons though as I have seen peoples clothes get ruined by too many. I am sure you could pay to have your clothes pressed though by the hotel. Sorry I couldn't be help on this topic. -

Amber - Welcome and congrats on picking the RPRM, you will not be dissapointed it is absolute heaven!! Gorgeous ring too!! Jen - I like dress #2, you look amazing in it!! Thats great about your internship, It is great to have the oppurtunity and that you have such a supportive fiance. Lucky you! kimmyg - For your rsvp's I would try not to get things done too far ahead of time or just get extra for people you think might come. We had people booking a week before we went which made it difficult but thankfully I had just got extra's of everything. Apparently people do not take rsvp cards for destination weddings seriously...who knows why! Shellk - I am soo excited for you, only 13 days to go until you are married!!! I so wish I was going back there right away...I can't wait to see your pictures!!!! -

jrb - why don't you just book it yourself online? I just went to the site and put in a feb. 12, 2011 as the date and it let me, so maybe try that out. The latest ceremony time you can have is 5pm. Keep in mind it is dark by 6pm though so after the ceremony you would only have about 20-30 minutes for pictures. They may also offer a complimentry semi-private cocktail hour in between the ceremony and reception or you can pay to have a private one. Also, you have to have at least 60 people to have a private reception that starts at 6:45pm. Well at least thats how it was for me. If you have less then 60 the private reception starts at 8:45pm. Hopefully this info helps you. -

shellk - have a blast tonight!! Jannae - The staff will setup anything you need for the ceremony, like chair bows and fans. As for the reception we had to get a couple friends to put out the maraca favours for us. They just went a 1/2 hour before the dinner and put them all out. I think if you pay them though they will do whatever for you. I also love the idea of having the knot instead of the bow if you are going to go with them, very cute! JNagan2011 - Have a great time dress shopping!! -

Married life is great!! You can pay with credit card for everything except photography. Well, they try to make you pay cash for photography. They wanted us to go to the bank and wait in line and take out all the money for the pictures which was $1200US, we just gave them about $200us and paid the rest on credit card,we told them it cost to much money to take that much cash out. Which it did, you could only take out $200us at a time and it cost $20us each time to take out money...wasn't happening! Hmmm, advice...all I can say is just try to enjoy every minute. The next couple weeks will fly by! Just remember that any decision you have made (except the wedding time) can be changed during your meeting with the wedding co-ordinator. They really do know what they are doing and although we don't feel like it's organized, they have it all under control. Hopefully that helps Let me know if you have any other questions. Oh, I have to say...the spa is amazing!! I got 2 messages while we were there. The one included with the wedding package and the combination one and they were both amazing!! My friends also had the body scrubs and wraps done and they said they were great too! -

RIU RM Palace Brides??
jetsbride replied to Jaime's topic in Destination Wedding in Riviera Maya, Cancun & surrounding areas
Hi Ladies!! There's lots of questions going on here, here's my thoughts... Katie - My best friend was our MC for the night and she announced us into the reception part. If you do not plan on having an MC the DJ will do it for you. I do not have pictures of all the locations just the gazebo but here are my thoughts I think all the locations are awesome, people are going to be watching no matter where you decide to have it. I would rank as follows 1. Gazebo 2. Beach 3. Kiosk The Kiosk is very beautiful however I am not sure you would get the great blue water in the backround. Originally we really wanted to have a beach ceremony but by the recommendation of many people we went with the gazebo and I am so happy we made that decision. You can still change your mind when you get to the resort too so try not to stress to much about it. We were married at 1pm and it was hot out but not unbearable. I actually didn't even sweat at all so I was really happy about that. I would say that 3pm-4pm was the hottest time of the day so if you are all good with the heat go for it. Ladytrunck - 5pm will be a good time too you just have limited time to take pictures. Our photos only took about an hour so you could have them done before dark. Aren't you getting an outside photographer though? DreamingofSunshine - I have pictures of our groom and groomsmen wore at the wedding, take a look at my planning thread. Katrina305 - We used a TA and I didn't think she was helpful at all. She gave us no perks or anything. I found from people that booked that they got the best deal on travelocity, you just have to watch for the deals. Let me know if you have any other questions ladies... -
Congratulations Lisa!!! Welcome to the MRS club!!

shellk - We just had our best man hold the rings and when they asked for the rings he brought them up to us. JNagan2011 -The 2 resorts are pretty much the same except the RPRM is bigger then the RPM, I am pretty sure thats the onlt difference. There is not a gazebo at the RPM either. I am not sure about the price difference. Mrs. McKenna - We had our wristbands on for most of our pictures and we didn't even notice them in the photos but you can take it off and they will give you a new one at the front desk. Sorry I haven't been here for a while. Happy New Years to all of you and i can't wait for all the 2011 brides to go to the RPRM and have an awesome time!!! ShellK - Only a few weeks to go!!! Are you excited or what!?!?! -

KimmyG - I never saw a fight for the beach chairs, there was always tons that were free so no need to worry about that. As for a mic at the gazebo, yes there is one. The steak and lobster at Chili's I believe is avaliable every night. Chili's is an a la carte rstaurant though so you have to make reservations. Mmmm, I miss my steak and lobster!!! Shellk - Your bd photo is awesome!! I can't wait to see the rest! Your future hubby is gonna love it!! When do you plan on giving it to him? -

Coco Bongo is the name of a really popular club in Playa del Carmen. I think the place at Tequila is just called the "Disco" All drinks are included when you go to the disco at Tequila. You can get packages for Coco Bongo though, i think bottle service is the cheapest way to go there. -

MrsMarch4 - After our private reception dinner at Chili's that ended at 12am some people went to Coco Bongo's. We did not rent the disco, however we went to the disco probably 4 times and had a blast everytime. It is not fancy by any means but a good place to dance and drink!! I would just make sure you have a lot of people that would want to go to the disco before you rent it and pay so much. It's just as fun with all the other people there. -

Even if I wasn't sick is till would have worn the wedges for the reception. Just for all the dancing and stuff. I also have really bad feet that get super sore so I rarely wear heels. If you wear heels all the time I think you would be fine all day in them. -

sammysgirl - I had bought 2 pairs of shoes for our wedding, a pair of pink high heels for the ceremony and pictures and a pair of pink wedges for the reception. I was soo super sick on our wedding day though so I just wore the wedge heels the whole day. I didn't want to be the bride that tripped!!! These are the ones I wore the whole time These are the ones I love but didn't wear!!
