  1. The person who introduces the wedding party and introduces all the people who will be doing speeches.
  2. Thats a good idea Nadine..thanks! I just wasn't sure if you spend the same amount for both but I think that's fair.
  3. I am just wondering if anyone is giving their mc a gift? If yes, what is the gift? Our mc is my best friend so I would like to give her something, any suggestions?
  4. I was thinking of the ones from ikea, then you can decorate it how you want it also.
  5. I had no idea Erika, so sorry this happened to you but that is definately great of the BDW ladies and you get well soon!!
  6. Okay, I got my responses back from Ael and this is what she had to say: What is the maximum number of people that Chili's can hold? Max. capacity is 200 guests. Is it possible to have a private reception with speeches and slide show at Chilis? Only if your group is over 70 guests and a different cost applies. Do you have to pay for drinks other then beer, wine and pop? Yes, when you book a private reception dinner, you have the option of paying 9usd per person for an open bar. Is it possible to bring our own music to the private dinner instead of having the DJ? You may, however, please bare in mind that the DJ is the one who brings the full sound equipment, lights, microphones, etc. The restaurant does not count with sound equipment, so if you wish to bring your own music please consider speakers, screen and all necesary items.[/I] Did you get a response yet Josie?
  7. Paige2010- I think you are talking about the Caprice package at the rprm, that is the package I got only because of the amount of people we will be having (over 50) but yeah you only get 24 photos in that package we are just paying more to get more photos. and yes, the 1700 includes the private dinner and dj that are in the same venue from 8:45-11:30. I am not sure if maybe they let you go past 11:30pm but Ael so far has made it clear that 11:30 is the cut off time.
  8. Happybride - no I haven't heard from Ael, hopefully tomorrow, I'm not sure I can make it through the weekend not knowing whats going on... Thanks for the info about the disco too!
  9. oh, could you send me the photos of BotaFogo, she never sent them to me. And then of Chili's when you get them too. Please and thanks!! [email protected]
  10. Josie - I was just going to ask you if you had heard back from Ael, I emailed her yesterday and today too and I haven't got any response. before this she had been responding very quickly...whats up with that? So are you going to have your private dinner at Chili's then?
  11. I think that if you want it private you have to have the DJ but I am checking that with Ael in an email. I will let you know her response. We were planning the ipod and bose thing also but I don't think it's allowed.

I am under the impression that if you choose chilis to being with there is no extra fee to upgrade.....as far as i know anyway! I am going to check next time I send an email to Ael if there is a cost if you are already at Chilis...hopefully we will get some straight answers soon!!

I know the RIU is at the Yucatan, which sucks....but if it can save is 1K I'll deal with that I guess. I wasn't given a clear answer of what chilis holds but i know its over 50. I got this email which kind of scared me out of bogofoto since we have around 55 guests right now....and if 5 more book it appears it would cost us money to have it moved to chilis! excerpt from email: I must say that the BotaFogo is available for groups of max. 55 people, therefore, if your guest list shall increase dramatically we will be forced to change your dinner reservation at the Chilis with the corresponding upgrade costs. That is lame that specialty restaurants do not have drinks other then beer and wine...seriously!! I think that there will be about 60 ppl for our wedding I never knew that Botafogo could only hold 55...what is the cost to upgrade and move to chilis? What if you chose chilis from the beginning, do you have to pay more still? This is really confusing and frankly, driving me crazy!!! I told Ael we will have over 50 people and she said: At the moment, we can offer you the BotaFogo Restaurant for a private reception dinner, however, bare in mind that this can change if your group increases dramatically I have to say I am extremely happy that me and you are going through this at the same time...it definately helps, even though it sucks we have to go through it at all!
  14. Sparrow, common!! I am not a fan. Congrats to them though.
  15. Josie - Did you book Chilis or BotaFogo? I am wondering what the capacity is a Chilis now, we originally booked BotaFogo but we may change. Do they still charge more for drinks at Chili's? Not sure if you know but just thought I'd ask. I don't know the cost of renting the disco but let me know when you do find out. the only thing that sucks is that it is at the Yucatan (I believe) not the rprm. As of right now Doug and I have decided to have our ceremony at 1pm, our semi-private cocktails from 5:30-7:30 and our private reception at 8:45-11:30. We are paying extra for the drinks (9/person) and the stereo equipment ($300). We decided that we would pay extra for the drinks at the private dinner because we are paying for a private dinner and we would rather people just stay in that area instead of having to leave. Cause then what would be the point in paying for the private area...? It has been a stressful couple days but we have gotten past that and although I kinda feel like I am just taking it up the and there is not much I can do about it. In 2 months from now I won't even remember this!
  16. Hi Melissa, welcome to the forum, happy planning!
  17. Josie - I haven't asked about a welcome dinner because I don't think we are doing one. Let me know how it turns out though. Shellk - I have asked to get a later time for our ceremony numerous times and they tell me I can't move it because they are booked but they will let me know if something later becomes avaliable.
  18. Great review Jananaz! Sounds like you had a great wedding! Thanks for sharing.
