  1. I asked Jacy about the Caribbean Trio. She responded "About the Caribbean trio, they use a 2 guitars and maracas. The music is more like romantic. I will look for samples and will send them to you so you can have an idea." Also she gave me the dimensions of the gazebo. "The columns of the gazebo are 2mt high. And across the crossbars of the gazebo is like 3mt wide." Ginalynn, Thanks for the heads up about the pesos! Welcome Buckeye and Sassy

  3. Mylene, How exciting! You are so close! Can't wait to hear all the details. Looks like you may need an adaptor.

  5. Thanks for all the ideas. I love the inspirational bouquet ideas. That's awesome you found a dress for such a steal. I'm tall too so I can relate. Congrats and hope you have an amazing time.
  6. So many beautiful details. Thanks for sharing! I love the centerpieces and the groomsmen and father of the bride attire!
  7. Here's a link to a thread on customs. It's helping me figure out how to get all my wedding stuff into Mexico without a hassle. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-thread-41422/ Past DPA brides: How did you deal with customs? Also Janna, the travel agency I booked with included round trip transfer from the airport. So I know it's available but nothing more then that.
  8. Hi Micah, I'm getting married at DPA in May as well. Make sure to check out the DPA thread. http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...st-here-27596/

It has AC, is free and I don't have to wait to see the occupancy of the resort. Jacy sent me options of wedding centerpieces. See attached. wedding centerpieces from dreams.pdf
  11. Love all the outfit choices Great details and your BMs are spoiled. Thanks for sharing
  12. I am also looking for a flowers in Playa del Carmen or Puerto Aventuras
  13. Ginalyn, LOL, your guest sound like my guests. I remember a bride saying she had her reception at Portofino. Now I can't find her post. Does anyone remember who it was? Thanks in advance
  14. Beautiful! I love your bridesmaid gift and MOH dress. You smart only having one . Where did you get your money wrist holders?
  15. Welcome Oscar Ernie! I feel for you... switching resorts after all that research. But you've picked an awesome resort. As for October vs 2011... my coworker planned to visit the area 2 weeks ago and had to cancel because of a hurricane. However, if you read back on the posts during the H1N1 (swine flu) outbreak, all the brides were able to change their flights and resorts last minute. Sounds hectic but if you really want to go in October and are flexible you can make it work. As for a picture, I don't have one I've taken but check out the link Meghan recommended Dreams Puerto Aventuras. Also if you go on traveladvisor.com some DPA guest have posted pictures. Welcome Amy, Booking a date can be hard. It seems like everyone who had a travel agent book their date had an easier time. May 4th, a Tuesday, has a special meaning for us. But since we wanted to get married on a Saturday, so instead we decided to do our legal stuff in the states on the 4th. Marryhimagain, Thank you so much for the email address and the heads up about El Patio. I was all set to pay the extra money to have a reception there. There is no way my FI will be comfortable inside without air conditioning. So El Patio is out Maybe Portfino or where Ginalynn got married.
  16. Wow Ginalyn, I'd forgotten how beautiful your pictures are. Now that my date is getting closer, I'm even more impressed with your reception. I love it. I see white tents in the background. What are they? They look like perfect lounge areas. I forget did you get married at 3 or 5?
  17. To the brides who have visited the resort: Does the El patio restaurant have air conditioning?
  18. Meghan, So sorry for the delay in answering your decoration question. I love the hanging orchids as well but I'm not sure where I'd hang them. I'm afraid they might blow in our faces during the ceremony. I was thinking fishing weights... but I don't think they are heavy enough for the gazebo maybe around the reception site. so I'm thinking these beads Large Teardrop Beaded Curtain ~ Clear I want to drape a few stands like curtain on either side of the gazebo. I think if they are tied back at least they won't hit us in the face. I also wanted to soften the gazebo. My bridesmaid suggested we drape organza down each leg of the gazebo all attached to the ceiling of the gazebo.
  19. Here's what I could find. I apologize if I missed anyone and please add yourself. Jesdinan - October 29, 2009 aug0208 - November 6, 2009 Elizabeth - November 7, 2009 Beautiful Bride - November 26, 2009 Mylene- January 15, 2010 Rainfall - January 22, 2010 2010wedding - February 27, 2010 echo 2 April 16, 2010 emaya77 - May 7, 2010 Badrianne - May 15, 2010 Echo, sharing decorations is a great idea! I heard the resort has the white organza... but I'm not sure how much. I'm thinking of buying more white organza once I get the dimensions. What other decorations are you picturing?
  20. I heard there was a hurricane in the Cancun area this weekend. I hope everything went well for aug0208 - November 6 and Elizabeth's - November 7 weddings.
  21. I was brainstorming w/ a bridesmaid about gazebo decoration for the wedding. She suggested a ring type device hung from the ceiling of the gazebo with organza flowing down to attach to each post of the gazebo. Her idea sounds awesome but I need to know the measurements of the gazebo. Does anyone know or have an estimate of the height of the ceiling and the length/width of the polls. Thanks, Adrianne
  22. Congratulations Kim! Your dress is beautiful. Gorgeous pictures. Your photog. did a great job. I like how the organza was flowing of the sides of the gazebo.
