Bajabride2010 - I don't think you have started to soon at all. I am planning on getting married dec 2010 and I have already started to purchase a few items, I feel it will help with the costs if I just buy a little at a time. I have picked out everything and narrowed my choices down to about 5 dresses, I don't plan on buying my dress or MOH until early 2010. I am at the point now that I am just waiting - waiting for the dates to be released, waiting for the prices, etc etc etc Happy Planning

This is a great topic. I have not really set a budget yet, I have a general price in my head, I am just in the very early stages of my planning (even thou I pretty well have everything planned lol). I had found some beautiful invites on line, but when I added everything up, for save the dates, invites etc the price was close to 300.00. So I discovered Vista print on another topic and will have my std done free and I am making my own invites. A savings of probably well over 250.00. I am going to upgrade my flowers, hire the steel drum band, and photgrapher. But thats all the upgrading I am going to do. Everything else I will buy on sale whenever I can. Keep up the great ideas we all appreciate them

I agree take 1 day at a time and be their friend, let the dad make the important decisions and discipline them. Good Luck. I have 2 children of my own 21, 23 and they accept my FI with open arms, but his girls 17, 19 want nothing to do with me, which I feel is wrong but thats a hole different topic!

I am doing choc brown for the bridesmaids, and men's shirts, tan or beige for the men's pants, I am either wearing ivory or white (not sure yet) groom will wear beige or tan pants and white or beige shirt. I have finally decided on my flowers and I will carry a white calla lilly bouquet, groom will have white calla lilly bout., and the bridesmaids will carry a mango calla lilly bouquet and men will have a mango calla lilly bout.

This year I am going to lose the weight once and for all and start going to the gym on a regular basis!

Once you are married you have to change your passport to your married name. It does not have to match your birth certicate, if you are married. Just bring in your marriage license to the passport office. I know a few years back my friend got married and it cost only a few dollars and they just put a sticker with her new name on it. It might be a little different now, that they have made it easier to get a passport.
