Hi! I actually purchased this style for myself in brown last year... Love the dress for the beach. Warning though. The material is SUPER casual and if I were your BMs, go for the longer length to keep it more formal. Personally, I would go for a more flowy material, since this one is on the thicker stiffer side (and isn't as flowy in person as the photo). But it can DEFINITELY be used again and again at the beach coverup or as a sun dress. If anything, you can buy one, and see if u like it (it's so inexpensive, and you can return for free). Since I am a big fan of modal/jersey dresses for the beach, may I recommend you looking at an etsy seller, Isadora Clothing (Isadora by isadoraclothing on Etsy). I ordered from her twice in the past, and I think your BM's would LOOOOOVE these dresses. It's much pricier than the VS dress, BUT you get at least 7 styles AND each BM can wear it in a style that flatters her (TOTALLY worth the $). These are convertible dresses, and I was actually going to order one more for this summer in orange or turquoise. She also lines them for a little extra. Hope that helps!

I'm now in the process of ordering my shoes. I originally ordered the Badgely Mischka Randee shoes that's really popular right now, but I ended up returning them because they didn't look great with my dress. Soooo, now I'm seriously considering Benjamin Adams' bridal shoes. They're slightly more expensive than the Badgely Mischka's, but I didn't like the dyeables or the other styles available online and in stores. So did any past brides or current brides wear Benjamin Adams shoes? Here's a link to their shoe collection... I only wonder if anyone's tried them on and what the comfort level and workmanship like in person Paradox London - Wedding Shoes and Bridal Accessories

I just ordered my Maggie dress this past weekend! I had my heart set on Paige (and I told myself not to be swayed from Paige)... and Paige looked so pretty... But then when I put Madison on, it just made my curves look fantastic (and I got a better reaction from people when I came out in it). Here's a pic, but it looks sooooooo much better in person (plus the shot was taken from below, so I think i look bloated from this angle). Ignore the messy hair/little makeup. PLUS, it was a Maggie Sottero trunk show, so we saved 10%!!!! It really helps to try different things on -- u just never know what u'll end up with!

I mean, power to you if you are lucky enough to be a stay at home mom, and you have a nanny for your kids, but she should NOT complain about anything in her lifestyle to Vicky or any other working mom. I would love to not work, but when women like Alexis complain to me about how their nanny's vacation time is cutting into yoga classes, I canNOT be sympathetic. I know too many moms (without nannies and working full time) that are amazing with juggling work, the kids AND their husbands (if married). Alexis should just shut up when that subject comes up. Vicky's less abrasive this season, but c'mon, she's still controlling and inconsiderate of what she says about other people to other people, and when the tables are turned on her, and they call her out on her bad behavior, she becomes such a baby and tries to manipulate the situation to make herself the victim. why do I still keep watching this crap if i get so riled up over the cast of characters i just can't help myself!

I didn't catch most of the show last night because my dvr only records two shows -- CBS Monday night was all new and 24 on Fox. But I did catch the end in another room, and was really disappointed that he chose the young one. C'mon. Is she really gonna want to be with him after 10 years of maturing? And Ali as the new Bachelorette? Geez. ABC is desperate. I did not like her, and that is definitely a show I will skip this summer. Jason and Molly. Whatever. I can see why they're televising their wedding. ABC is picking up the tab, and I would do the same thing too if i were them. I may watch it just to see how they decorated it and put it together, but I'm not a fan. I always thought that Melissa got the better end of that whole situation last year since she is banking on her sweet gig on ABC and DWTS, and she got engaged to her ex. So everyone's a winner I guess, from Jason's season. At least Jason & Molly aren't in the media as much as Trista and Ryan -- that couple irks me still...

Dancing with the Stars*Spring 2010 season
jplovesme replied to Christine's topic in Celebrity Gossip!
Yeah, saw the announcement last night. Not crazy about Jake the Bachelor going on there, but it should be interesting. Nicole from the Pussycat Dolls is a great dancer already, and I wonder why she even wanted to go on the show (maybe they're releasing a new album soon). But it should be interesting to see how the rest of those celebrities do on the dance floor. Used to watch the first few seasons, and this season might bring me back on board... -
We expected this movie to suck, since we are huge "Love Actually" fans. Since we had free movie tix, we went ahead and saw this on V-day, and we were both pleasantly surprised. I liked it a little more than he did. It actually has some heart, despite the onslaught of celebrities and diluted story lines (HATED part of Ann Hathaway's story line -- what a waste of talent). But overall, a good flick. Still wouldn't pay full price.

Why do people INSIST on stressing you????
jplovesme replied to JennandMike08's topic in Just venting or funnies
We're expecting this as well. When we first started telling family members about our DW plans, someone mentioned that it's expensive for them. We tried to make it clear that if they can't make it, then not to stress themselves out. We would love it if everyone could come, but we'll just be happy if it's just us and our parents (who we're helping pay for). Just remember it's your day, and just drown out the negativity. or if u hear more excuses, tell them to stay home. Good luck! -
Try the TA's here! They're super knowledgable and experienced with Destination Weddings, and very helpful when they post in these threads too. Click on the banner above. Go to the travel forum and look for TA Maureen, I think she has a link to information on their agency. I just sent my retainer for TA Jennifer!

I'm on the HCG Diet -- weigh the food, but not counting calories. Been on it for 7 weeks, and lost 22 pounds with little exercise. Just to jump start my weight loss. Almost done with the diet (2 weeks to go), and will be adding strength training and higher caloric intake of food to get more fit and toned. Down to my goal size. Woo hoo!

Please don't tell him! I know if I told my FI that I was thinking about it, he'd LOVE the idea, but then he'd discourage me from spending the money. So mine are going to be a surprise for him before the wedding when we get to Mexico, or the wedding night. I haven't scheduled mine yet, but here's a link to some awesome boudoir photographers in Southern Cali (and their wedding site is to DIE for) San Diego's Premiere Boudoir Photography Studio

whic is more romantic - church or beach wedding?
jplovesme replied to belle_jacobs's topic in Destination Wedding Vendors
I'm Catholic, so i grew up with church weddings all my life. So to me, a beach wedding is more romantic. But then again, we are not devout Catholics (we opted out of the wedding prep at a church since its soo much of a hassle). I think since religion is important to you, then maybe a church would be nice -- especially since he's into the idea. How often does the groom have a strong opinion on wedding planning? What to wear for Engagement phots
jplovesme replied to Tennyt1's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Congrats! I just booked mine too (yesterday)! What to wear? I guess it would depend on where you plan on taking your photos. A lot of engagement photos are more casual-wear. Jeans, cute top, maybe some heels. A lot of girls wear dresses too. It's all up to you. Your photographer can also make some suggestions to you as well. For us, we will be doing a costume change. In the studio,I'll be wearing a dress with some killer heels. But when we go on location, I'm changing into some jeans, so that we can do some of those cute poses on the ground/grass or against walls. Your photographer is the expert, and will know what clothes are best for the look you are going for. We're doing ours in May, when are you doing yours? -

Mr. and Mrs. or Mr. and Dr.?
jplovesme replied to TaniBBurwell's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I'd say use it. If your fiance is okay with it, then go ahead. I have a friend who is a Pharm D and her husband is an MD, but they didn't announce themselves as Dr. & Dr... I wouldn't noticed either way. It's your day, you worked hard for the title, and if it means that much to you, then go for it! -

Anyone use beach mats instead of chairs?
jplovesme replied to RedHeadBride's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
hmmm. beach mats for a wedding? depends on your guests. I personally can't ask my guests (especially my mom - yikes) to sit on mats. But if your guest list is a casual group, and they're not too dressed up, then go for it. -
I agree with everyone here! I used to not like the idea of kids being at our wedding, but we'll have a couple 5 year olds there, who are both big personalities, and if they do something "embarassing" i'll only look forward to any photos or video of them. Unless you're a picky bride about things being perfect, I don't think your son can be embarassing -- as long as kids don't throw crying tantrums during any ceremony, then i think it's fine. Find a designated person to watch him or hold his hand during the vows (have that person hand him the lollipop at that time as distraction). Other than that, kids are kids.
